Taal17:

The visa they put in your passport after approval is not the GC. You must enter the US before the expiry date on that visa. Once you arrive in the US it is then stamped. After that you wait for the actual GC which is a card , it will be posted to your address that you indicated.

Maintaining your LPR status has its own regulations, you are not expected to stay extended periods outside the US since it is to be your private residence. Some POE may quiz you, however it is only a judge that can cancel it.
Typically no more than 6months out of the US , if you want to spend up to a year outside the US then there's another application you can make so that you can do that officially and get a SB1 (returning resident visa)
@Taal17
Thanks. I've had my GC for a few years but trying to decide what to do next cos I don't see the point if it doesn't look like I'll be moving to the US in the next couple of years. I was gonna move to be with my parents and siblings however I met my husband and got married couple of years ago and he's not wanting to move to the US in the next 3 years.
Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by Damilolly(f): 12:22am On Aug 07, 2021
nowhere:

You have 6months to use the visa and it is one-time use only. Then if you wanna stay out of the States, you do so each time for 6months, if you want to do 1yr, you must seek for the reentry permit as you depart. Anything outside these, you are risking your residence and begging to be readmitted with SB2 or something. If Embassy refuses, you start all over again or you fix Naija. Ask google for more!
Thanks. I understand that. I've been going in btw 11 and 11.5 months for a few years now but I won't be relocating for a few years and I don't want to keep going once a year if my move isn't imminent.

Be juggling it until when you or/and you guys are ready to permanently move. Or ask them to rescind it or sth.

Things can change and I think you may wanna speak to him about the benefits cos if you lose it and he suddenly sees the need then
E.g makes it easier to get long term visas to other countries
Access to business opportunities in the US
Medical care - for example we dont have covid vaccines right now in Nigeria so if you needed it you simply just hop on a plane
Get a job and earn in USD - inflation in Nigeria is kinda cray and with the possibility of remote work you have a number of options to earn in another currency as a way to sure up your naira

Let me just drop this here as well.... I dont think if the roles were reversed your husband would consider giving it up and I doubt you as his wife would let him do the same

But the SB visa is an option for you too.

If you would like to remain in Nigeria for more than a year and still be eligible to come back to the United States, your best bet is to file an I-131 (reentry permit). You can only file this while you're in the USA. Your biometrics will be captured again. With an approved I-131, you can stay outside the United States for more than a year and still be able to return without the need for a returning resident visa.

Good morning House, Please Is the waiting time from dq to interview the same or different for all visa categories ?
Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by julius2825(m): 2:09pm On Aug 09, 2021
It is better a visa category is created let's go wait in the USA. Just started i-130 f4 category, happy already. Only to read testimonies here. Can't someone protest or petition the processing. 15 years is a long time. I would be married

Bros just move on with your life, think less about it and pray for God to keep your petitioner, in f4 category you’re allowed to get married and your children’s would be derivatives
Me wey even Dey f2a I just ignored the whole American stuff, wrote jamb twice and I’m in 2nd year
If person 1 reason this whole Green card thingy you won’t do anything productive with your life and there’s a probability the wait time would increase.

Does a 9 year old need the yellow card vaccination to fly to the US?

Hello everyone here,
based on your experience, after we got DQ, how long does the interview letter/appointment take time?
My case is F4.

Please I have a question; My hubby and I had a baby shortly before my I-130 got approved and transferred to NVC. Now we're at the point where we pay the Affidavit of Support fee and submit documents on CEAC. Do I add our baby as an Applicant as well?
Thanks

My dad is a US citizen. He filed for me about 5 years ago.

Thus, I'm the primary applicant for a US immigrant visa.

Over the waiting 5 years, I have passed my DNA test. Recently, I got married and we now have a son.

About 3 months ago, I received some messages from the NVC and I have completed and paid for my IV application fee. I equally added my family as ACCOMPANY.

Unfortunately, I am unable to pay for the application fee of my accompanying spouse and son.

How do I pay for them?

The message on my dashboard reads: "NVC cannot review your submitted documents until we have received all the required documents DS-260, Civil Documents and Financial Documents. Once these documents have been submitted, we will review your case....."

Does this message mean I have some outstanding documents to submit to the NVC? If yes, how do I know the documents am I yet to submit?

I mailed NVC for clarifications, and the NVC said I should pay for my wife and son to complete my application.

Unfortunately, the NOT PAID icons against my wife and son's names are still not selecting on my phone - so I can't pay for them.

My SUMMARY INFORMATION reads: "Due to the numerical limitations on immigrant visa issuance prescribed by law, this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time. The NVC will retain the petition until an immigrant visa becomes available...."

I'm confused. The whole family is worried.

What do I do now?
Or should I change my family to follow-to-join?

Usually, how long is the F3 wait? Is it another 5 years await again?

Should I change my family's traveling status to FOLLOW-TO-JOIN to expedite the application?

What do you advise I do now? Please save a life. E daku. Biko.

What about clicking the FOLLOW-TO-JOIN option for my family?

What do you mean? You must include your family whether they are going with you or joining you later. Nothing gets expedited. There is backlogs oo. Just live your life...

Hmm. It is well. Thank you very much.

I will live my laif; I have no choice now.

The travelling status of my family has two options. It is either I click FOLLOW-TO-JOIN or I choose ACCOMPANY.

Either of the two options will allow my family to follow me to the US when the appointed time eventually comes.

I chose ACCOMPANY option for my family.

My question is: Is the FOLLOW-TO-JOIN route faster?

Hey bro!
Please, at what point were you requested to provide your DNA then?
Was it before USCIS approval or after the approval (while case was already at NVC)?
Any idea when they normally request for it in cases involving those in FB3 category?
Thanks.

Mine, as an F1, was before the USCIS approval.

It was at the initial stage.

That's about 5 years ago.
Thanks.

Follow to join is still all about your family members. You and them are in for the same delayed ride.

Either route doesn’t matter, if you had chosen follow-to join you would still be moved to the new category. Because your current category is for unmarried applicant, and you got married your will be moved to the married applicant category which has a longer wait.
