I have been in a situation like this before and I know how bad it feels to ever experience such – e go be like say make person just die.

My Story
I remember when I visited a Friend’s house in Lekki and they were looking for his Laptop, everyone staying in that house started looking at my face

I tried all I could to let every know I was innocent but nobody was even giving me a listening ear but thank God, they found it.. I promised myself never to go there again.

This post I saw on someone’s Whatsapp status actually made me remember the sad experience which I shared above.. I swear it’s only by the Grace of God that one can escape this kind of issue…

I remember sometime ago a close relative visited me. Within two days of his visit, I started looking for 7k I kept in my suit pocket inside wardrobe, I saw the money a day before it got missing. In my family, the last thing anyone could be accused of is stealing, it is alien to us.

We were the only two people in the house and I didn't know how to ask him for the missing money...I was worried cause I didn't want to spoil our reputation. Omo I searched everywhere and didn't see the money so I was forced to ask him...the look on his face was that of disappointment. He said he didn't see the money. I became double worried, one for the missing money and two for breaking the trust/reputation. But who could have taken the money? At some point I started believing maybe I have spent the money unknowingly...

But alas, I found the money inside the hand of my suit jacket in the wardrobe. Meaning I mistakenly put it there instead of my suit inner breast pocket.

I told him I have found the money and apologized, but could still see the disappointing look on his face...I regretted asking him for the missing money till today.

I remember when I was new here, I was staying in a friend's house.

We both do the same work though his pay was almost twice as mine.

We used to return home mostly on Fridays, and once we arrived, we would drop certain amount in the wardrobe. Everybody knows the required amount.

The money was used for things done in the house that isn't personal. We would then hide our personal money elsewhere until Monday morning when would give it to our banker friend to deposit for us.

I wouldn't say it was hiding sef because we still knew where each person kept his.


He told me one day that a girl was coming and would pass the night. Someone he knew from way back was going somewhere and got stranded and asked if she could crash and continue in the morning.

She showed up minutes later with another guy. After greetings and all that, I went inside where I kept my money and took it, leaving just N1700 and some other changes there.

Day broke, they took their bathes and left. I checked the N1700 and it was gone, with all the changes. Checked the ones we jointly kept in the wardrobe and nothing nothing was there too.

It was a Monday morning so we took our bathes and left the house for work.

Nobody talked about it till today. We just acted like it never happened. He was sad the whole day though and hissed when I told her that the girl is beautiful.
