if he is leaving there is no need to threaten him or try to use him to pass some message.

It's not like he would go to a new club and become a starter, is he a starter in Barca? 6 months time he signs a pre contract, he could then use the next few months to mentally prepare but Barca lose both the money or the potential of him ever returning.

If he wants to play against some of the best players in the world I doubt la liga current offers more than EPL in that regard. If he wants consistent playing time but lesser salary the Germans are there

If he wants more money, €4m euros he may get now on a paid transfer, for say €15m, the same club might offer him even up to €5m or €6m per year if he signs for free. Take Pogba and Sancho as examples. As long as when he signed he kept himself fit, a club like Chelsea could give him a year loan and if he is that good he will be 20 and return to the club to fight for a starting shirt.
