I don hear something new today......

Three (3) disadvantage of driving uber according to feli and supported by gentlelife based on his experience;

a) Pot belly
b) Pile
c) Poor eye sight

why everything start with "P" nah..........

Honestly, like someone has said, albeit repeatedly, THIS IS THE WRONG CROWD....

When we were much younger and they advice us not to associate with some neighbor, or some kid in your street/estate; This are the children they were referring to.......I apologise to everyone i may have had some disagreement with on this thread..It's time to just "sit down and look", it's not worth a ten cent coin anymore...#Peace

CheerfulGiver:
My brother, this is the mentality that keeps me going. I see uber drivers congregation in hotspots, all they do there is complain and share tales by ogogoro of how they were rude to riders.

They'll gather there without a request, while I go pick someone right under their noses.

Attitude is everything.

Pearl1910:

Bad attitude...one can never truly gain from what he disrespects.

Even if e no pallage as u would like it, just be grateful, give thanks, be positive, keep pushing until u move out.

Very very true,
don’t mind them lazy drivers everywhere...

While I was a lazy driver before joining you guys team last night, I don’t seat under the tree with them, I keep wondering what they do there too.

This line of thoughts, feeling and motivation is sweet mehnnn.

This is a dumb question, the question has become stale.
You guys should look for another question to be asking, just the same question they ask when you say Lagos is rough and stressful or complain about Lagos traffic.
Next thing they will ask you are you still here?
Maybe those that complain about the way things are in this country should be told to run away. That means almost everybody will leave.

There is no such thing as a stupid question but rather a stupid answer. I simply don't get it. You complain that the shoe your wearing hurts yet you refuse to take it off.

I keep seeing bolt's adverts of making 350k monthly. Please, I want to know how true is it to make 350k driving with bolt and uber. What is the average and the highest amount one can make in a day/week/month and between uber and bolt, which of them pays better. Is it possible to use both uber and bolt.
Which one did you saw?

Such a dumb reply. Not that I expected much tho.

Imagine comparing traffic in Lagos to a particular job in Lagos, when Lagos is the common denominator of all jobs.

There are other Jobs in Lagos. It makes common sense to leave the one you're complaining about daily, and go find something else to do. You don't persist in a job and complain about the job consistently.

And yes, people who complain the most about the country and about Lagos do eventually leave Lagos and Nigeria.

If uber is stressful to you, stop doing it. It's not by force. Drive danfo, or brt, or drive for a company or private individual. What is becoming stale is doofuses like you always being the first to jump on the band wagon of foolish advising of everyone who ever talks good about ehailing driving, and castigating everyone who drives full-time as impending walking catastrophes. The foolishness of you lot cannot be over emphasized. I personally don't complain about nothing. If traffic is much, I pass another route. If rider is rude, I cancel trip. If rider load is too much, I cancel. If rider puts leg on my dashboard, I walk you down. I don't tolerate. But you foolish ones will tolerate shit_ and still complain about what you CHOSE to tolerate!

Well, its a good thing you're already thinking and mapping out plans on what to do with your life after graduation and its also applauding you're already an undergraduate enterprenuer, i must say I fancy your courage, enthusiasm and mentality especially in this country Nigeria where there're limited opportunities.

To be honest it not easy getting a job after school even if you're lucky to have one most of them the pay is nothing to write home about, parents are dying in silent after spending their youthful life and money training their children only for them to graduate without a reasonable job... It very sad. Many graduates and undergraduates because of that have resorted to go into internet scam and other unthinkingable and unimaginable crimes like kidnapping, car hijacking among others. A few that were lucky get laid off may be after a few months due to bad government policies, contract jobs, companies folding up and the likes. This and Many more reasons are why most of us are found doing the uber driving job not that we enjoy it, no! But we have to make ends meet and then hope that things gets better with the state of the country for our children growing up even if not for us again because our own parents didn't suffer all of these we are currently being faced.

Yes of a truth you'll make money driving with uber/bolt but another truth is you'll have to put in several hours of your time driving morning till mid night, 5-6days and most time 7days a week. You'll be expose to both good and toxic humans, many will be ungodly while few will be pleasant, among all of these things you'll try to be calm for the sake of your account getting blocked because you wouldn't want to loose your source of earning. Even with the hundreds of thousands you pay as commission to uber/bolt you're still at their mercy because they have thousands of drivers paying even higher commission than you to them. You'll loose interest trying to apply for jobs because you'll have the thinking, how much can an employer pay you? After all I'm grossing 980k monthly driving. You'll loose weight, you won't have time to hang out with friends and family neither would you want to go on holidays because the surge are tempting so you want to be online at all time. You'll start having sight problem after some time because of flashes of light and your eyes being focus all the time...you'll start feeling your legs shake while walking or sitting down due to long hours driving, some will start having pot belle due to late night eat so constipation is inevitable, many will develope hemorrhoid popularly known as pile, late night eating, indigestion and long hours sitting down to drive can cause this this problem... The unfortunate drivers get robbed, get involve in an accident some their cars taken away and sadly a few once lost their lives to either sickness, accident or to car hijackers, never to be found again unless with God's intervention. Yes something must kill a man but people die in their sleep in their old age so why would a man die while on duty or to diagnosed sickness? Sad!

So my dear friend(s)[newbies] these are most of the truths celebrity driver aka cheerfulgiver and many others with little or no knowledge about the hustle won't tell you, know it now b4 making that decision to join the hustle.

Me i go speak my mind, I stand with and not just by the truth. I will die for it! I've lost a lot for this same truth oh but I've gain more than I've lost.

So like I initially advised "the bolt/uber shop is another man's idea" you are already an entrepreneur so think something bigger so you can stand among CEOs and not among celebrity drivers with unrealistic dashboards.

A word is enough for the wise.

Felifeli, remember I said I won't take your post serious again? On this one, you got me and I would advise the Intending ones to weigh this advise before taking final decision. No one can gross 980k as a part time driverpartner. It requires extra/over time. Take it or leave it. Make ago check where surge dey jàre before them park everything finish

To be sincere, Ehailing is like every other means of making money legitimately. I don't see why a recent graduate should wait until the labour market has worn out his shoes before venturing into it.

This mistake of "I am a fresh graduate" is the reason some graduates remain private school teachers five years after graduation.

A goat that will be a male starts from the mother's womb says an Igbo adage.

I made a comment on a post some time ago to a guy who claimed that his brother is putting pressure on him to get a job simply because he lives with them.

I told the guy that if he spent one year before service, one year during service making it two years and still went back to live with his brother, then his brother should be worried because he might as well remain unemployed for the next five years.

Thinking Ehailing as a fresh graduate is a step in the right direction. It means you are thinking of the worst case scenario, what you will do. That does not mean that when a good opportunity presents, you will reject it in favor of Ehailing.

Nigeria is not getting better and there's no good job anywhere except you have the strong connection. So, accepting the reality and refusing to live in delusion is the only way to be ahead of your mates.

Modified

Here’s the link to the thread https://www.nairaland.com/6676055/how-handle-maltreating-brother#104271142

I'm sure this guy will definitely quit Ehailing because riders are jealous or insulting his fine looks.

Why would I think of worse scenario when my mate are aiming higher? grin

Have you forgotten what some people said right on this thread about aiming low?

Is like you are advising him to join lazy drivers or use their advise as yardstick when you have the like of current GOAT.

Well written but this is for someone who has interest in taking up a paid job. Some of us are not cut out for it and don't care whether we have experience, skilled, fresh or not.

In conclusion, these companies want to exploit your youthfulness to their advantage.

The end product is money whether from paid job or street hustle unless someone interested in building a career in a particular field.

Sir, the right up above is for those who have dreams and believe they can achieve it not for those who don't care about their dreams, aspirations and skills. For that guy to have worth #2M as undergraduate means he has something special in him and can do better in life than thinking of becoming uber driver immediately after graduation.

A friend of mine told me he almost fall down when he got out of his car one day that he just gently rest on the burnet of the car and sat on the floor for some minutes before he regained his strength. He said his legs were shaking vigorously. Myself, I like driving early in the morning and night and I discovered my sight is seriously affected by the ray of light faced during this time of the day. I pursue free medical one month like that and I won it with Total fuel card 45k. The free medical after 300trips can not solve the eye problem for me as they said I entitled to only 10k for eye clinics. The worse part of it was that my account was blocked same month up till now. Since then I gave myself sense regarding pursuing bonuses and free monthly health care when I realized uberbolt don't care. Though some people were extraordinarily created by God but not all of us.
