Greetings to Ogas in the house.

Pls I need help. My 2008 Honda Pilot develop some problems.
The radiator fans stopped working unless I turn AC on. If the AC is on the fans will be working okay, but once AC is off, the fans will not spin.
This problem started when car AC worked on it. The AC man damaged the radiator when trying to remove compressor coil which he said spoiled. In order to remove the coil, he brought out the radiator & other parts. The opening that connect the gear oil hose was damaged. Without telling me he block the gear oil from entering the radiator. This resulted to car jerking & transmission overheating. It was discovered and the radiator was repaired and reconnected back properly.
Now, 2 days ago, I noticed that the fans are not working unless AC is On. If I on the engine without AC, the engine + radiator will be hot & bring out smoke as fan is not working. However, the temperature reading is still normal at middle.
I approached a Rewire at my area, after checking told me that the Thermostat has spoiled. That I've to REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT & RUN THE FAN DIRECTLY. But I refused because I've read that it's not advisable to remove Thermostat.
Now, for me to use the car, the AC must be On so that the fans can work.

Pls, what could be the problem & how to fix it?

Thanks

Is something wrong with my Civic, 2008?

I changed from Mobil 2000 5w30 to Synthetic 5w30 and I noticed this loud humming noise coming from the engine. This usually happens in the morning or at evening when heading home after work.

The noise reduce/go away when the engine gets hot.

Have driven about 1,500km since the last oil changed.

Luvinhubby Kingreign et al

May not be engine oil related, likely your steering pump

Good morning all.. I'm in Kaduna and can't get the recommended transmission oil for my Honda DC. Anyone in kaduna who knows where I can buy? Alternatively which gear oil can I use? I have been using the Honda transmission oil, but it's low now.

For mounting a tokumbo gearbox you’d bed at least 6 1ltr bottles of it. One of It will cost between 3.5-4K in the market.

There’s no other suggestions that will work flawlessly for you. Don’t make the mistake of pouring any other type of oil in your Honda gearbox or you might likely regret it

No other suggestions sir. That's the manufacturer's specification. Any other ATF than what is specified will lead you to buying another gearbox. We know times are hard but just save up for the best ATF for your ride.

Hello Guys,

Good morning i noticed a knocking sound from my front wheel on my Honda accord 2005 when i made a turn yesterday please what could it be ?

please you guys should assist , my first question didnt get a reply.

P.S Im a learner

Hello.

I understand that Luvinghubby has already drawn your attention to the drive shaft.
It could be your ball joint too (I would put this top of the list).
My Accord once gave knocking sounds on turning the steering, which was worsening with time. When I examined the front end, I narrowed it down to the ball joint. I replaced ball joints and knocking sounds disappeared.
Cheers!

Good morning house.. I notice that when ever i start my car in the morning and engage the gear to drive it takes about 6 seconds to enter drive and move.. Sometimes it forcefully enters it after that.. It drives normally and the D Light on the cluster board does not blink.. Pls help honda gurus

Check your transmission fluid level. A low level would cause all symptoms you listed.
If transmission fluid is not low. Scan for transmission codes. Lastly, the tyranny might be on its way to giving up.

Hello house, my 06 civic exhaust sounds very loud (louder than my DC). We have checked the exhaust for leaks and found nothing but the Mech says the that’s how the civic sounds normally. Anyone with the 8th gen civic having same experience?

Check the catalyst, if missing could be a major culprit.

That's nor how thermostat works. If the fan is not coming on the check the coolant switch as the fans should come on at a certain temperature and turn off

No Sir.

Transmission fluid means your 'gear oil'.

Check its level and rule out leakage. If level is lower than recommended, top it with the recommended ATF (gear oil). You didn't specify your Honda's model/ year.

1. Check the level of the transmission fluid.
2. What color is the transmission fluid when the dipstick is removed?

Most scanners can scan only the engine and few can scan the gearbox. Make sure you use a good scan tool that can read codes from both the engine and gearbox of your car

If the oil is still clear and pink, you may just top it off.

If the oil appears dirty on the dipstick, drain it and refill with three quarts of ATF-DW1.

Before you move the car, start engine and slowly run through all gears with your foot on the brake pedal.

Cheers!
