The US knows why it was there in the first place ... there is always an interest when its troops are sent to a foreign land.

you got it wrong... Taliban has a lot to loose if Americans don't leave. The continuous stay would automatically halt Taliban advancement. If Taliban have good advisers the best thing now is to let America leave in peace.
