In 1985, she married Mallam Nasir El-Rufai whom she met in 1976 at the School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He later became the Minister of the FCT in Nigeria, and the Governor of Kaduna State.



19. Alhaja Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano State)

Hafsat Ganduje was born in Kano State. She attended Malam Madori Primary School, Shekara Boarding Primary School, and Women Teachers College. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Education at Bayero University in 1981, and went on to earn a Master of Education in Psychology in 1992 and a Master of Business Administration in 2004, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Administration and Planning in 2015.

Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu was born on January 8, 1967, into the family of Paulinus Olusegun Carrena of Popo-Aguda, Lagos state, Nigeria.

Following the election of her husband as the Executive Governor of Lagos State on May 29, 2019, Dr Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu became the first Medical Practitioner to become the First Lady of Lagos State

As a lover of women and children, she is currently chairing the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) whose objectives include promoting child healthcare and women empowerment among others.

She is the host of the Lagos State Annual Children’s Party and Christmas Party.

Regardless of her role as the first lady, Dr Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu remains an active member of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
