Bro whats the average cost of this ride, since parts is cheaper than the corolla

volvo S40 what year?

Automatic or manual

Got it for 1.7

2005
2.4ltr 5cyl engine
Automatic

Sundays and Saturdays I average 12.6 to 12.9 litres per 100km Weekdays it jumps to between 12.9 to 13.4 depends on traffic and ESPECIALLY how aggressively you drive.
The car is a beast performance-wise, top speed 260, I've tried to 170.
comfort is top notch, better seats with lumber support (10 way adjustable memory seats)
6 cd changer, 8-speaker system, MADD Sound. And it's still not full options o, mine is missing dvd, 12 speaker premium sound system and 17 inch wheels.
I remember taking these two guys to river valley, they were into music, oh lord, they too gbadun the sound, dude kept commenting and commending.

Even the base trim comes with a kind of hybrid mixture of leather and fabric seat and solid sound system too

The effect on riders is something else. First off, the rider just assumes the car is mine so the attitude is different. Then they like that it's a different car from the usual then the premium feel of it. Definitely there are some that still give an attitude but, that's negligible.
I particularly enjoy watching people go to the corolla first before realising they're at the wrong car. Sometimes I'm right in front of them but they'll still be looking for me.

In my my search for a car then, this was how I ranked them and if I'm to do it all again this is how it stands.
S40
C180
VW Jetta
Honda Civic/Mazda 3
I'll take the car everyday of the week and twice on Sundays

you can add pad, it should give it like 1.5 - 2 inches lift cool

Added "pipe" in front. Basically a metal ring between the spring and the strut. Added pad at the back.
I'll change to taller tires as well for good measure wink

Okay, I think the best thing to do in this hustle is to take it as a hobby and not a "job" that way you can easily stomach the trash that comes with it.

I carried one girl from Onipanu to Yabatech Staff Quarters. When we got there, we found it hard locating the right quarters that the lecturer she went to meet was.

I first took the first turning by the left only for the man to tell her that that's the wrong location. She asked the security man we met and he said we should take the third turning by the left.

As we got to the third turning by the left, the baba was already shouting accusing the girl of not being within the premises while claiming to be. The girl asked him to speak with the driver to confirm that she's actually around trying to locate him.

Immediately I took the phone from her, the baba started shouting at me, that I am taking the girl round the whole Lagos so I can make millions abi. That he will show me when I get there, that the girl doesn't have any money, that he's the one to pay for the trip.

In my mind, I was like, this may be the first slap or punches I will collect on the job and I was already practicing my kung fu karate.

When we finally returned back to the second turning and got to where baba was, he humbled grin he was like "sorry oo, I am frustrated and under a lot of pressure bla bla bla" that how much is my money. That's how he paid me and I left.

BTW, they have no reason to disturb follow come tint. I guess the back is tinted in Nigeria?
Crvrider:

The back windows are. Have had personally remove the ones in front.

Thanks for your concern. I don solve the issue.
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Dailyparrot: 6:46pm On Aug 16, 2021
On another trip, a girl requested me and I drove 8 minutes to her location, called her that I have arrived.

This lady asked if my car's backseat can be folded, I told her no. She said that she will have to cancel the trip, that the thing she wants to carry requires a car with foldable backseat.

I don't know whether to curse her for wasting my time and fuel. Assuming she doesn't know cars by their names, would it not be better to call the driver immediately the order connected to know the type of car he's using.

The annoying thing is that the girl refused to cancel the ride. I waited for 10 minutes but she didn't cancel. Whenever I call her to cancel, she will tell me that the app is refusing to launch. I know this is a tactic she has deployed to avoid canceling from her end since it appears she might have canceled a lot considering the fact that she is only looking for a matrix or similar car which is uncommon to the business.

Same yesterday, one rider asked if I could carry booter in my trunk, I told her to better go get a GeePee tank so I can carry it very well.

I think AIG said no issuance of tint permit for now. And that factory tint should be exempted. Read this https://www.nairaland.com/6650000/permit-ban-cars-factory-fitted-tinted#103688971
Felicity0001:

What are they saying... Try negotiate with them don't try to be in a hurry just relax your mind in fact leave them go find somewhere chop food then come back and talk with them... The last and only time I was stopped by a DSP at okota junction it's 10k I gave them after it was satisfied the tint permit was actually fake. I'd to remove it the next day without even informing my partner. Yes! Na me dey drive d car and sufferingnit as well.

So have they satisfied your tint is fake? How was it done? If you too know it's fake then you've no other option but to beg them and negotiate a price.

Mind you all old tint b4 the IGP place a ban on tint are still valid provided its authentic with medical report so no new issuance for new tint that are not factory fitted. Those cars that came factory fitted after the ban are given 14days ultimatum to get a tinted permit for the factory glass but that tint permit issued only covers the factory, meaning no doctor's report is needed so can't go ahead to put the lynon tint in the front glasses.

Know these things so nobody will use you chop ignorantly.

How has the fuel consumption been?

What's the size of the engine and what yr is this car?

Btw this car and the HC-06/07/08 which is better in terms of ground clearance?

Why did you chose to raise it other than increasing the tire height or size together.

What is your take about the AC system, comparison with the HC-06, any difference?

Kindly talk little about the electrical aspect of the car, sound system and any other info you might think it's worthy to know.

Finally, its been 3months down the line, what have your riders been saying about the car? The interior, sound system and comfort (room space) and also police and other law enforcement agencies.

Your input sir.

Thank you

Modify: to add up, if you where to make another chose with other Volvo for the job which would you go with, S40, S60 or S70?

And again, did you miss the Corolla or HC? If yes why?

I'll take the v50... It's basically the station wagon of the S40. I like it too. I really don't like the other S series of similar year. I think they're ugly. Subsequent iterations are nicer looking but obviously more expensive.
AC is great, no issues.
Mine came lower than most civics. I'll change the tires too. The engine of the car is designed vertically so the sump is really low to the ground, AND it's aluminium so even though it has a protector shielding it it's still prone to cracking especially in a place like Lagos with our roads. This is my only grouse with the car. So it's GOING UPPPPPPP, only a tire switch won't be enough for me.
Police stop me cos it's tinted but it's factory tint and o have a permit. If the permit no do I invite them to try peeling it off. No problems either. I also do not appear like an Uber driver.
I'll drive into estates without checks 8 out of 10 times, except those where you have to call the gate. Parking too.
I haven't had any electrical issue so I can't say anything. It's definitely a more "complex" system than the usual
Besides fuel consumption, it's a no contest on all fronts.

But one will still need a permit for a follow come, just that you won't be needing a doctor's permit.

A lot of shade there.

That place is for visitors going into Kings college, but it's mostly vacant especially during the day.

My only fear is that Uber cars can start spending days and nights there, and before you know it, LASTMA don begin find their daily bread for there
