Hello people, what is really happening? I've been applying for dates on the US portal for the past 3 months to no avail. My school resumes tommorow but I was given a month grace, is it because I have dependants with me? I'm tired of searching, I've used about 3 agents to no avail. I applied for emergency date, and it was denied. Nothing is wrong with my documents, I dont know why there are no dates available I'm sincerely frustrated. Please how can I be helped? I got my i20 from WIU (spring 2022) a few days ago.

Today, I scheduled for the visa interview and my birthday was the earliest available date. It's going to be a double celebration for me by God's grace.

I'm a software engineer and I got accepted into an internship program in California. I applied for visa with my husband. We got married nine months ago. Exchange programs usually require that you have a visa sponsor, so you pretty much do all of your documentation with them first. Then they register you on the SEVIS database once you have competed all your documentation.

For the records, the marriage certificate we submitted was the one obtained from the mosque where we got married. And I didn't change my name after I got married.

Initial date scheduled: July 2022

First expedited request was submitted on 14th of July and it was rejected. I guessed it was because I didn't attach any document. Then I read online that you need to attach DS-2019 and SEVIS fee payment receipt. So a colleague in the US helped me with the payment and it reflected on the portal after three days because he used the mailing option. I sent in another emergency request and it was approved after one week.

Expedited date: August 19th 2021

ME: Currently pursuing a degree in *** at UNILAG

ME: Masters degree

However, my school wrote to me today that if I can’t make it by the resumption date, I might have to defer my admission to January or take this semester courses online.

After much deliberation, I decided to defer till January since she told me that the visa won’t be granted coz I need to take a minimum of one course on site and it’s too late for that and she is willing to issue me a new I-20 for January and deferment letter.

Now my issue is this, will I be able to interview for January in August? given this rule of you can only interview within 120days to your next resumption date.
