Hi Guys, I really need your advice and imput and I am more than ready to do the needful. I want to start school in the US as early as possible -January if possible. I am currently in the US on a long vacation, I studied Estate Management for Bsc and graduated with a 2.6/5 cgpa cry which I am evaluating with WES currently, also I have a gre score of 331. I have 4 years post-nysc experience in real estate firm, the challenge is I really want a full scholarship as I am self funded. I Intend pursuing Masters in finance or business analytics or an Mba, but with my research I dicovered full scholarship on Mba is rare. I reached out to Howard University but learnt that they are switching there Msc Finance to an online course. Guys Nigeria is tired of me and the feeling is mutual....please advice abeggggg

Pls great people,
-Do schools in the US still offer undergraduate LLB or Law in Nigerian parlance? I mean for someone that just wrote WAEC or GCE and wish to get a first degree in law from the US?

-Mostly importantly, if they still do, please kindly share/ recommend good schools that still offer the course if you're privy to that information.

Thanks all for your immense contributions in this thread, you folks are too kind.
God bless.

PS: I asked, because I have searched and searched and the results I've been seeing so far, says schools in the US don't offer Law/ LLB undergraduate degree programs any more. Instead, they offer JD (Juris Doctor) which requires one to have a first degree first. I don't if this is true or not.

Please your contributions, opinion and suggestions are highly welcomed.
Thank you.

True. Law is a second degree course in the US and thus requires you to have finished an undergrad course for 3 or more years before going for JD.

Congratulations we will be waiting for your transcripts.

My interview is 30th of August and I know I am coming to share my approved visa transcript in Jesus name.

Thanks very much. Here is the transcript:
I have been blessed by the members of this forum and I thank everyone that have shared their Transcripts or have answered questions here. I have been a silent participant in the forum. In April 2021, I got admission with full funding to University of Wyoming to do M.A history.
Fast forward to June 29 when my i-20 arrived, tye available dates for interview were in 2022. I asked for emergency appointment but when it was not forthcoming, I engaged an agent to find dates with the reschedule appointment tool for me and I got August 20 appointment. My resumption nis august 18 on my i-20. It was on this forum that I learnt that I can get a revised i-20. In short my revised i-20 reached my email in the midnight of August 20.
Now I must print but my appointment is 7.30 am. I got to the Abuja embassy before 6am. Omo entrepreneurial NIgerians are already on ground! Printing was expensive but I was happy to pay. They also scammed me by saying that my DS 160 submission confirmation read Lagos instead of Abuja and so I must change it to Lagos otherwise they will send me back. I said no but being my first time , I ended up paying. The gate hustlers also condemned my passport photo graph. Anyway Sha I snapped another one. In all I was milked of 22k naira.
I joined the queue at 7.15am. I have read all transcripts here and I was prepared with responses. Someone also coached me the day before interview. I have with me two company certificates, landed property, marriage certificate and many rehearsed speeches on why I will return to Nigeria.
I entered the interview and it was then I knew that my Lagos information for DS 160 is to be transferred to Abuja and I must wait Another 1 hour. It was then I knew that gate hustlers don scam me. While I wait only two approvals were granted and about six denials. At that moment, like a person given life imprisonment sentence, I started imagining how beautiful life under NIgeria and Buhari can be if one accept your fate.
Then I was called to enter again for interview.
V.o good morning
Me: good morning ma'am.
V.o I can see you are going to the University of Wyoming
Me: that's correct.
V.o: what do you do here in Nigeria?
Me: I'm a teacher and I teach History. ( In the cubicle there was a male white guy standing near the white female interviewer observing the computer screen. The white guy nodded at my response). She typed.
V.o: said something I could not pick. And I told her that please come again. She Held up a slip on which 'thesis was written'.
Me: yes my masters is thesis masters.
V.o: no, I mean what is your proposed thesis topic?
Me: oh, I shall working on prostitution during the colonial period of Nigeria

V.o : oh colonial prostitution.
Me: yes, that's correct.
V.o what will you be using this degree to do.
Me: I shall be coming back to teach History at the University of Ibadan.
V.o: teach at University of Ibadan?
Me: yes, I've been promised a position there.( The white guy beside her nodded at this)
V.o: I shall be approving your visa....
Me: I became deaf.to other things she was saying but I picked transit and pick up. I was given a white paper and she bid me best of luck.
My interview was less than a minute. Please prayer works! I prayed. My pastor prayed. While at the interview my mum, my dad, my wife, my mother in law and an aunt, my children were praying for me. This is the first time in my life that things that is supposed to be difficult became absolutely easy! It was my first time at any embassy. It was my first application for any visa in this life!

With sadness I wish to leave. It was nice being with.you guys. But I guess is time for me to leave.

I appreciate all the help and info I got here

I also thank God for the friends and others I was able to assist in getting an approval.

I would want to wish those with pending approval success very soon.
Remember NEVER GIVE UP!.
KEEP TRYING .
And if you feel USA is not for you cos of the rejection. There are several other similar countries UK, Australia, Europe, Canada etc to try from .
But *never* give up and wish to *remain* in Nigeria. As a young person under 40 , you have greater potential outside this country and even your children would have greater potential than you and would appreciate you forever .
Nigeria is a failed state, but Nigerians are not and have lot of hidden talents waiting for the world to see.

So keep trying never give up!
Don't let anyone deceive you with the words

*Is easier to become rich in nigeria*
While this may be untrue as just 0.5% of Nigerians are rich in international standard.
Note that being just is not success

*Home is better than any where*
Let them know that home is where you choose to be from not where you were given birth to. The only permanent connection you have to Nigeria is that you were given birth here, anything can change if you wish for it to change.

Home is where you are treated more like a human than where you a treated like a slave. Nigerians in diaspora with even just a nigerian passport have more human rights as aliens in western countries than Nigerians living as full citizens back home.

So my fellow friends still trying , keep it on. Don't give up . You will succeed.

And to my guys that are here.
We need to be appreciative of the favour.
Remember the battle is not over , in fact is just starting.... whatever plans you want to seek to gain permanent stay may it succeed but never forget the main reason you are here.
Which is for higher education.
Be at it.
Try to be the best so the whole world can see through you what talent Nigeria is hiding for the sake of the rest of Nigerians back home .

Don't be carried away and fascinated by the luxury things the western world have to offer. Remember you and a citizen of this country are not the same for now even if you are more educated.

Never break any rules and laws no matter how little even if their citizens are going against it.

*Don't be on the fast lane*
Calm down you didn't come here to be wealthy.
You came here to have a better standard of living.
So don't rush
As you are here and you keep working it is assured you would get your basic amenities.
And if you work hard you may be blessed with more wealth than you may even realise.

Even if we want to reject negative African traits , don't throw away what would make you better than an average american.

Also keep encouraging your families and friends back home in Nigeria who wishes to come meet you. Never forget them . Try to support them at least if not with money or finances but with information and advice from your experience.

Wishing everyone a good one in their lives.

Would hang on for few minutes before I take my leave.
