We might not take it or believe it but the simple truth is that there is no way you can equate HND with Bsc If It is not Bsc, it is not Bsc. HND plus PGD is not Bsc. Securing or getting a job at times depends on luck. With HND it is possible to get a high paying job but the fact still remains that someone with Bsc has an edge over HND holders. All with HND certificate should go for conversion as early as possible. |

I have HND. Several years ago, I lost many job opportunities because of the useless employers of labour. Now, I have a PDG, a Masters and currently on another Masters. But, for 8 years, while still having only HND, I worked in 5 different Banks, only the first one as a Contract staff. E no go better for the designers of Nigeria's educational system. So, as the OP rightly said, HND is not the problem. |

orohbiro:False! You would have added "In Nigeria", maybe I would accept. You claim to be a graduate and still fail to realize the potentials of education. You think it's with illiteracy that will make you go over $200k per annum? |

Even within the Poly I initially attended, the lecturers that had BSc were much higher on the ladder than the HND holders. It s a systemic problem created by Nigerians for Nigerians. Nigeria is too "somehow". |

He have to Sue the recruiter for compensation for time and resources wasted. He applied for the jobs and they invited him for the interview. Why couldn't they checke his credentials before the interview invitation. Besides, the requirements for the position should have been clearly stated. There is something missing here, this information is incomplete |

HND holders should go for Top up degree programs. Lectures holds from Fridays through Sunday. Two years, six semesters and you are through. For 4 years courses, two years,4 semesters, you bag your degree. |

Mr. OP, stop using sympathetic format....We the elders in council know your type. You're indirectly happy about the backdrop of a perceived low class graduate trying to compete with you on a particular job Vacancy meant for BSc holder..but you know what; na person when nor know his/her bearing in this time and season dey find work. Shalom!!! |

Phd, Msc,MBA, Bsc or HND. The fact is there is no job in Nigeria. Thousands are graduating every year from Universities, both federal, state and private, Polytechnics, both federal, state and private. Government is not creating any job. Npower is just like drop of water inthe ocean. People should learn skill and become independent. Education is a scam in Nigeria. Government has killed education. They employ graduates and pay them stipends, that is why private companies are learning from them how to exploit graduates. It was government that rendered education valueless. God bless Nigerian graduates and punish the leaders. |

Adaorababy:I’m so sorry about this your experience. I have seen first hand this discrimination between BSc and HND graduates. When I was doing my 6months internship as an undergraduate, There was another guy doing his 1 year internship before going for his HND program. He had finished his OND but not yet started his HND. I was in 400 level. I was paid 15k while the OND guy was paid 12k. The guy was so angry. He said it is not like I have finished my BSc or have a degree yet that why should they discriminate. He called the HR and complained to her. The woman told him that it was their policy. After that time, Oga decided that he won’t work for anybody because he can’t subject himself to such discrimination. But I want you to know that this discriminions is almost everywhere. Especially in countries that carry school certificates on their head. |
