Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, says what the Federal Government has done to AK-47-wielding bandits is worse than designating them as terrorists.

He spoke in an interview with BBC News Pidgin on Saturday morning monitored by The PUNCH.

Garba was responding to a question on why the regime of his principal, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has not outlawed blood-sucking bandits just as the current government proscribed the Indigenous People of Biafra and moved to do the same to Yoruba Nation secessionist group.

“What the Buhari administration has done to the arms-wielding bandits is worse than being declared as terrorists. There is a subsisting order by the President that any arms-wielding, AK-47 bandits should be shot on sight.

“Yes, IPOB has been proscribed by law of the land, there is no shoot-on-sight order,” Shehu said.

“The Nigerian Air Force is busy bombing locations, the military is there on the ground, exchanging fire for fire, taking them out in hundreds, that is certainly not treating people (bandits) lightly,” he added.

This feels like the worst defence ever from Garba Shehu.

The Armed forces are busy in the east searching house to house for perceived IPOB members and showing graphic images of their execution and decapitation over perceived voodoo charm protection by the perceived members.

The Bandits, who have successfully eliminated the term Fulani Herdsmen/Militia from the media space are now unknown with no affiliation when we all know from their chief spokesman Sheikh Gumi that they are Fulanis, are receiving water pump treatment. force men have revealed that they were instructed not to go after them.

Too bad for the country we once cherished.

Still reading for the 4th time.

Shoot on sight, yet they are having meetings with Gumi, governors and the soldiers. Who is deceiving who. And to think that the government have marked them as repentant bandits/Boko haram with special benefits while hardworking individual have lost their lives, properties, livelihood and loved ones in their madness. At the end of the tenor, no one shot on sight, no arrests, and no one to prosecute. This is why politics should not be seen as a game.
