I already threw it away. I’ll watch to see if it occurs again then I’ll make a report. Thanks for the advice.
You made a mistake. You should’ve reported the incident to your landlady. That’s the first thing you should’ve done.
You are alone there, in a foreign country, with severe linguistic barrier, the thought of getting physical with someone shouldn’t be coming into your head. There are ways of dealing with this sort of issue.

You can break barrier by being nice and friendly to the people around you. I don’t know how long you have left to study there but your attitude need to change. You are part of the problem that you are facing.

I moved to a country in Eastern Europe to get a degree in medicine sometime in April this year and up till now I have always minded my business. I don’t even bother mingling with the locals because I can’t speak their language yet so I just stay indoors and play my ps5. I have never had any issue with the locals before until now. I live in a one bedroom apartment and I don’t even know who my co-tenants are as I go in and out without acknowledging any of them. I meet them and I go my way. The only issue I had one time was with a tenant who reported me to the landlady that I left the door leading to our apartments open and since then I have never made that mistake again. Occasionally when I jog in the evening I hear side laughters and talks as I jog past them but I always tell myself that they might not be talking about me or maybe they are not used to seeing black guys jog. Fast forward to today, I decided to do my laundry and when I went to my balcony to air my laundry(I live in the 3rd floor), guess what I saw. A used wrapped sanitary towel was lying on the floor in my balcony. I know it’s recent because it’s month end and month end is when most girls/women get their monthly visitor. I don’t feel sad or pity for myself, I feel rage because if I had caught the white trash who did this, I would have punched her so hard in her stomach, she won’t have to worry about anymore monthly visitors till she dies. It’s still there on my balcony in case anyone wants pictures undecided undecided
I know you'll probably be in all those them Poltava area of Ukraine.
Before you arrived, you've had this idea about how they are and what to expect and it's playing in your actions.
You're a foreigner, you're strange to them. According to you, you don't relate to them.
What that sick person did to you might not be related to your race in anyway. Might have even happened to some other guys in your apartment.
And as for the laughing part, why would a racist even laugh at a black man running lol. You've got this idea of Ukrainians before even going there.

Try to be open minded and you'll make good friends of all races.

Hello...
I think I understand from your point of view, you mind your business to avoid trouble for yourself. I get it!
Even though the disgusting person that put that in your balcony cannot be justified, I still advice you try being a little friendly, social and kind to your neighbors and those in your school. People talking and laughing doesn't always imply they're talking about you, I think you are just insecured because of stories you have heard about racism.

Some whites can be annoying and overbearing but a lot of em are nice, well depending on your behavior. You don't expect to smile at you when you are avoiding them. Take it easy and trying greeting them with a smile sometimes, being nice has its own benefit.

I don’t understand how minding my business will come across as me being rude. It’s not like I frown when I see them. I leave my apartment in the morning and come back in the night. Doesn’t justify what that person did.

I understand that I’m in a foreign place so I don’t get in anybody’s space. I have friends i hang out with. I’m hardly in my apartment because I’m always out. I’ll try to be more social and see where that leads.

Funny enough I came here with the mindset that they are very nice as my landlady and her son are very nice to me. What happened is just sick and there’s absolutely no justification for it.

You've been being properly advised by the above commenters - being nice to your neigbhours ain't gonna harm you in anyway,of course no one is suggesting you trust them easily, that would be naive of you, but atleast simple greetings and a bit of casual talk will go a long way in forstering good relations between you. Additionally, if such nasty incident should repeat itself, don't hesitate to inform your landlady immediately, i belive she would handle the issue appropriately. And don't ever physically assault anyone bro, that could very much land you in trouble with the police, i belive that is the last thing you will ever want. Stay safe and enjoy your stay in your anonymous country(pun intended).

I'm sorry, but this is a bit embarrassing...you have no IDEA what you're talking about 😅. Women don't "get their monthly" at the end of the month like a check 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣🤣🤣. It can happen at any time for various reasons. As opposed to immediately respecting to domineering violence maybe try to go through other scenarios that could've led to what you're experiencing.

Also, may I ask if maybe you thought racism didn't exist prior to leaving your homeland? I hope things have gone well for you.
