Understandably, the CBN do.not have requisite capacity. The regulator is obviously.trying to limit its extent of failure.

However, I expect a plan in place to build local content

I weep for Nigeria youths our future seems stagnant just like Michael Jackson said "They don't really care about us" As an aspiring youth if you make it try empower your fellow youth let's be our brothers keeper cuz the evils souls don't give a shit whether we are alive or not.... Stay focus one love we go survive no matter how difficult it get....

The prefer to give youth #5000 tradermoni or conditional transfer. You can not blame them now, knowing they can manipulate the youth to vote, still ballot box, kill for them.

They closed borders to improved locally made goods and impose it on high cost to the Poor.

But go medical Tourism abroad, partner with foreign companies in all transaction and collaboration. We have been lamenting since 2012, what kinda country is this?

Of the companies listed above, only 2 of them have the technical skills and experience to develop a national crypto platform.

That said, the decision is probably driven by political interests.
It is important that companies especially their top management steer clear of politics and controversial issues to avoid backlash.
Business and politics do not mix well.

The currency is not an investment scheme. Think of a fully digital Naira.

BTW, Success or Failure of a crypto has nothing to do with decentralization.
USDT is not decentralized yet it is doing well and many decentralized currencies have died over the years.

You are expecting the same lunatic that have waged consistent war against the youths and the tech sector right from the end sars movement to do something differently?

Lol.

It's like you people don't know these old men yet and how they see youth empowerment as a serious impediment to their own control and prosperity.

He probably believes that giving such project to a Nigerian tech firm would empower those rascally, spoilt yoofs that want to end sars.

Opexzy:
Nigeria federal government is worst than cancer... One or more useless decision maker in this matter has invested heavily in Bitt.

Stripe acquired paystack for 200 million dollars,
Flutterwave closing in on a record breaking deal in Africa.
Piggy vest manages over 100 billion naira of investors funds using tech.
Opay just got 400 million dollars investment from softbank.

Our federal government decided to leave all these change makers in Nigeria fintech space to work with a company with zero investment and presence in Nigeria. Two possible reasons:
1. For selfish interests and egocentric gains
2. They are running mad.

This current CBN disaster of a governor is one of those few useless beings the south east ever produced. Soludo will always have my respect.

It is well with the soul of this country.
for selfish gains,it will surely fail.....

It was because of the actions of emefiele against flutterwave during the end Sars movement that made flutterwave to register their company in the US.

And you expect emefiele to give that project to flutterwave?

Delusion of grandeur.
