We are just saying you guys should generate your own income while we do, it is not hard.
Next will be for states to control their natural resources just as zamfara is doing.

Don't mind them my brother. Let the northern states be collecting their own VAT. Nigeria is one of the most endoured country by nature but one of the poorest in the world because we lack the capacity to manage the abundance of resources nature or God has given us. Let every state collect their VAT, every state will develop, meaning that the country is going to be developing indirectly.
We claim to be a federation. No other federation in the world is using our template. We have seen this template we are using is not working.
The north and Nigerian are incapacitating the north. The north seems to be backward in almost everything. Let us liberate the north. There are vast of resources in the north. One of the strategic decision that will grow the north is the implementation of state administration of VAT. The north should fight for it. It will be tough in the beginning but I see a huge leap out of poverty. Up north, Up Nigeria.

My reservation and concern on the judgement is for companies that collects tax clearance certificate from FIRS. On submission of Audited financial statement for issuance of TCC. The FIRS when discover that VAT are not remitted to them, might compel the company to pay VAT on Turnover which might lead to double taxation on payment. This must be look into and taken into consideration.

I don't your concern is a major problem. If this case is not appealed or succeed at the supreme court, then changes will have to be made as regards the law around administration and remittances

Yes, we will pay for them. Just control your own resources whereas we do ours. Those vegetables, we will pay or buy them, its same thing we were telling the herdsmen, that since you northerners know how to produce vegetables during the dry season, it shouldn't be hard to cultivate the grass and hay your cows need but no they won't cos they have ulterior motive.

The position of the North is expected because they are the least productive in terms of VATable activities. Their excuse of using the transportation value chain is so myopic. Is that the only business sector in Nigeria? Are they aware that the contribution of interstate logistics services to national GDP is small compared to oil imports, manufacturing of goods or even the regular services sector? Why should they then think that the challenges of VAT collection from a mere interstate transport should be the basis of determining who to collect VAT nationwide?

If this new judgement is implemented, Lagos, Ogun, South South and Anambra will carry most of the VAT leaving crumbs for many other states to share.

This is a great judgement. Imagine collecting tax on alcohol and be distributed to states that destroys alcohol. When they say develop your state, some are developing almajiris, grooming the future Boko Haram. They will surely become humble when they no longer have access to monthly revenue from the South.
My advice now is for the South to go into massive Agricultural development because the North see it as an ammunition to wage wars against the South.

Such companies should then go to court

I referenced South South as a whole because almost all their States (except Edo) have significant upstream oil operations. VAT on upstream operations will be significant for those States if it should go to them.
