I kept wondering how easy it was for the bandits to abduct such large number of children, but the picture says it all.

Buhari began his time as president in 2015 by concentrating on combatting the country's jihadist rebels. He declared victory against Boko Haram in 2016, but many say that was a premature announcement as the insurgency continues.

There are many reasons the government has failed to stem the insecurity in Nigeria's north, ranging from overstretched and underequipped security forces to failed strategies and a weakening multinational force, Nigeria’s military and police forces, with the backing of local self-defense groups, are outgunned, outnumbered, underfunded and underpaid.

“Soldiers have lost morale, defending themselves in impossible scenarios,” Bukarti said. Many soldiers say they are exhausted after being in the north for nearly six years, with no rotation out, he said. Many also complain the shoes issued to them are not replaced for years.

Experts and Nigerians charge that rampant corruption means that funds allocated to the military do not reach the troops on the ground.

Security forces also must contend with vast, ungoverned territories that they do not know, but which are familiar ground to the criminal gangs and insurgents living there.

More than 800 security forces were killed in 2019, one of the deadliest years since Boko Haram’s establishment more than 10 years ago. The military responded by creating super camps — gathering about 1,000 soldiers together in a large camp.

“It succeeded in reducing military fatalities, but it gave Boko Haram freedom of movement,” it a failed sstrategy.Buhari lead government have reduced the economic allocation to school's,lack of quality teachers ,lack of infrastructures,no security for the students and pupils.
The joint regional force in which neighboring countries sent troops to help Nigeria combat the jihadists, has also weakened. Chad, a key partner which once had more than 1,000 soldiers on Nigerian soil, withdrew their troops early this year, saying their mission wasn’t renewed by Nigeria.

No.

1. 30% of Nigerians who are taxable don't pay taxes

2. Our tax to.gdp ratio is low.

3. The foreign countries you admire, they have high tax rates and high tax to gdp ratio and tax most of their citizens.

4. Anytime Nigeria wants to raise the tax level you guys will cry that you are poor and that they will steal your money.

So what do you expect?
The foreign countries you desperately want us to copy from do not have natural resources...

Continue deceiving yourself
They don't but they are industrial countries

Which leads to my next point

Having natural resources does not make you rich. Having them used to make industrial products for the world makes one very rich indeed

But people like you won't vote for leaders who would make us like those countries that you admire. You want to be like Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Oil rich countries with tiny populations which we don't have

So emancipate yourself from mental slavery.

And go and do the hard work of democracy

And how many northern state have u travelled to?
Besides while private school may have better buildings they are not that much and they are definitely not doing well in terms of academy.

The elites and political ruling class of the predominantly Muslims northern Nigeria don't want any formal modern education for the underprivileged children of the poor masses, because they want their own well educated children to succeed them to continue to rule the poor masses for the regular supply of cheap labour for their households, factories and companies as housemaids, houseboys, drivers, messengers and low income workers.

The widespread violent attacks by the bandits and terrorists are the deadly consequences.

You lied here too. All most all private secondary schools in the North are doing well in academics even though I haven't been to all states. Some of you guys just have the mentality that everybody in the north is a Fulani or Hausa muslim whch is completely false. States like Adamawa, Taraba, Bauchi and Gombe have more people of other ethnic groups than Hausa/Fulani who don't want to go schl

BLACKS HAVE NO FUCKING BUSINESS RUNNING THEIR OUR COUNTRIES..

This is just the pure undiluted truth.
I have said it, and will continue to say it, the ONLY hope for the blackman is recolonisation for another 150 years. We simply do not have the moral status or humanity to effectively govern ourselves.

In Europe, Japan, China, the US....you would not rear animals in those conditions. Check out any ranch in the west, the animals are in better conditions than that school. The conditions in that school, are the same all over the country. From Sokoto to Sapple you will the see the same thing. We are simply not civilised

But you've just shown yourself to be a fool. Schools in the North are not all on holiday. Some states in 3rd term. States have different academic calendars as a result of Covid-19 and the forced breaks.
pele ooo, minister of fools. If your head is intact, you should know its a real comedy for 73 students to be kidnapped all on bike. Nigeria is where it is today because of people like this.

I know what I'm talking about, I have teach in 3 private school in the north, I have been to all state in north west.
I know quite well there are other tribes in the north apart from Hausa and Fulani, even though Hausa is a major language there. I know the is difference between Hausa spoken in north east than that spoken in north west.

I have nupe friends, I have a funsua friends from Kaduna.

If u look at my first quote I excepted state capital, but going to other local government, there schools are usually very poor with poor building like this.

As for private school, the building might be better with even ok laboratories, but the standard of education is still very poor compared to the south.
This is not even an argument, waec and jamb result is there as proof.
These private school in the north cannot produce best performing student in waec or jamb.

It's not the same all over Nigeria, we can't have this kind of structure as school in Delta or Lagos or port Harcourt.

Then blame the unserious students not the school. I did excellently in my jamb and was without any malpractice and my school is not in the state capital and it's not even among the best schools around. The problem with poor performance from states like zamfara, Sokoto, borno etc are because high percentage of students are Fulani/Hausa dominants who hate school. It's just because jamb/waec don't release performance analysis based on ethnicit if not 80% of failure will come from those guys. If you really teach in North you'll understand what I'm saying. Talking of best performance, it's the student's hard work that will make him/her to be the best. Visit the schools where the best students come from I am sure you'll find students who failed. I am not here to compare north and south, I know you guys beat us in terms of education but intelligence is based on brains and environment not region
