UPDATE: NIGERIAN ARMY NEUTRALIZES BANDITS IN ZAMFARA AS STATE GOVT BANS ALL ILLEGAL MOTOR PARKS.

05/09/2021.

Nigeria Air Force Jets are currently engaging some notable bandit camps with heavy air bombardments in Zamfara state and beyond.

The State Commissioner of information Ibrahim Dosara announced their success while briefing newsmen on new measures taken by the state government to address the issue.

He said that, some identified camps ware destroyed by the Air Force including that of notable bandit’s leader known as ‘Dankarami’ in Shinkafi Local Government Area of the State, who some months ago released a video celebrating victory over the Nigerian Army.

Meanwhile, Nigerian Army are also on ground neutralizing those who managed to escape through foot paths.

Based on that, state government has ordered the immediate closure of all illegal motor parks and road side markets across the State especially those at kauran Namoda-Jibia road, Lambar Bakura junction, Kwanar Mayanchi-Anka junction, Garejin Mai Lena as well as Filin Jirgi rice and vegetables market in Gusau Metropolitan.

A source from the Zamfara State Government House who pleaded anonymity said, Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle is full of joy over the successful operations.

The Governor is also monitoring the successes recorded by the Nigerian Army in his office and calling on the good people of Zamfara State to remain calm, law-abiding, and go out for their normal businesses.

The recent ban on weekly markets by kaduna state government will further degrade them in the bushes because only small shops in the villages will be available to them now and they are frequently loosing ally villages and no trader will risk trading with them now seeing that the governor had no interest in wasting scarce resources to feed them while they await trail.
The current military operations and the large one coming will not stamp out banditary in the Northwest but it will give villagers some relief during the forth coming harvest and dry season.

Sugar and caffeine high.

There's no perfect time to begin offensive other than now. I hope once they are done with the 2 weeks operation in NW. They would begin NE operation.

The recent statement from Gumi is very irresponsible, he is trying all his best to launder the image of the bandits and advocating for negotiations, ordinarily there shouldn't be any problem wit that but these are the same criminals that have been offered amnesty several times, most of them declined while others accepted and went back to their criminal ways within a short period. The bandits have problems with government and governance, is that why they are now terrorizing innocent people of other ethnic groups? The same bad governance every ethnic group has been a victim of for several years yet didn't take it on others.
At a time when everyone is supposed to be distancing themselves from these barbaric criminals, some people are making a case for them. The only thing still preventing the pogrom of fulanis in Nigeria is because we still have people who understand the differences between fulanis and the criminals and governments at all levels are preventing self defense groups from having too much freedom yet we have people like Gumi attempting to blur the lines between the criminals and the fulani ethnic group.
It is in the best interest of everyone to shut this man up, I don't even understand why media organizations are still broadcasting his speeches. He will be totally mute when the bandits are committing atrocities yet suddenly find his voice whenever same is being visited on them.

I'm really glad about the operations in the northwest. I've been following it for the past few months. I have military intelligence pals who had been on ground in Niger, Zamfara and Kebbi for close to 6 months. Just hope our boys send these bast*rds to the deepest part of hell. wink

The problem we have is the media not Gumi. How many people knew Gumi outside his state and environs until the media gave him attention.

Forget about those guys if I have my way I will even scrap that agency or kuku integrate them with their twin brother (NPF). If not for the military especially the Army and Airforce, all of us for done become refugees in neighbouring countries. The way they were even created is even faulty that agency needs a foundational rejigging & only the constitution can fix that.

Agreed, the media gave him(and is still giving him) free publicity.

Truth is, BAD NEWS SELLS AND.... THE WORSE THE NEWS, THE MORE THE SALES.

Gumi is just being Gumi(there's a saying that "pesin no go talk pass where im sense reach"wink.Which he is doing.

Its however, the responsibility of the government to stop a-sholes from being a-sholes. That where I blame government.

The media have to do their job, we can't diminish Gumi's influence especially in the north. It's good he's given a platform to air his opinion on national issues as long as his ain't breaking any law since he is an interested party, it's left for the agencies concerned to act on whatever they can glean from information coming from him.

Contrary to popular opinion, DSS actually plays one of the most important role in the counter-insurgency warfare but in the background. Majority of their actions are not what the public should know about.
