After Senegal and Algeria, Ivory Coast is one of the toughest countries to face in Africa right now. Even without Zaha, Pepe, Amad, and Kessie, see the way they are dominating the Cameroonians.

In the knockout rounds, we should hope not to meet them. Any of Ghana, Egypt, Mali or Dr Congo groups would be the best draws for us. Ivory Coast will likely make it out of this group.

Not so fast. I think this group will be decided by the final match day. I'm not sold on these guys yet.

Rohr; "We train in Lagos on a synthetic pitch, but this one is softer and this is better to play on. We have to change the team, we have only 19 players available for this game and we have some problems and it’s a big challenge.
I trust these boys that will play for the first time for the Eagles, Cape Verde want to win because they drew their first game. We have been preparing since we are in Lagos, but Cape Verde had more days to recover. It will be a physical challenge, but we will be ready."

What he knows about Cape Verde

Rohr; "They like to play quickly to the attack, they have wonderful players like Mendes, they have players in France and they have offensive players. They like to setup with three at the back and we know they like to defend.
We have our own idea and we have tactics to score goals and win the game. I know it won’t be easy with our situation, we are super commando, and we have to show our fighting spirit.

Weather

Rohr; "It will be hot tomorrow, but we have to adapt and give our best."

House,
Why is there no VAR in African football?
Some tackles I have been seeing and calls of officials has been terrible.
Again all these do come to play in international tournaments

I don't think there's VAR in CONCACAF qualifiers as well. VAR will probably show up in the final round

The tackles and fouls are a lot. Infact a lot of red cards would have been shown in this match BTW CIV and Cam

Any good football nation takes the midfield and effectively the game from us, I think Rohr should find a way of making Ndidi and Aribo work
Aribo is great. I don't think his problem is dealing with the physicality of the "African game" - its more that he doesn't play well on rugged pitches.
It might sound like an excuse but it is what it is.

I think we should pair Moffi and Osimhen tomorrow that should take care of the creativity, then we can afford to play the carpenters behind them make it a hustling game

You don't call a player that plays for Malmo a carpenter just because he has never played for Super Eagles. Or is it Shehu Abudulahi you're referring to as a carpenter? Then you're wrong. This guy has been part of this team for 5 years or more now.

I mean no offense to our midfield but if we want to win against Cabo Verde, Osimhen and the front line will have to do all of the work

Now that Kali and Ebuehi have both tested positive to COVID. I feel Rohr will field his new Rockies like Bonke and Michael. The set up should look like this, Shehu will return to his RWB

Okoye
Shehu, Omeruo, Awaziem, Sanusi
Bonke, Ejuke, Michael, Simon
Musa, Osimhen

Who’s gonna distribute to our forwards? We haven’t solved our AM issue and all we have left are DMs.

I don't seem to get the unnecessary panic and false prediction of tomorrow's match.

People here make it seem like we're playing Brazil. Can't stop laughing.

I've got no worries at all, whatever team we present, the Super Eagles will dust Cape Verde away like a fart in the wind.

I remain positive - the Land is Green. cheesy

Ejuke can manage that. He is the closest thing we have to am.
Ha u have a crazy idea. Why not try Daniel Francis dada from our u17. He is part of Bayern Munich world selection for talented youngsters. Maybe even Samson tijsni. Our u17S can stake a claim here

My top 4 best shots in today's training.

Kingsley Micheal & Innocent Bonke have impressed me in training,
Bonke is strong & wins the ball fast, I hope the duo will make it count tomorrow. I like to see debutant impresses.

Osimhen, Omeruo & Shehu are always in high spirit.

Shehu/Sanusi Awaziem Omeruo Collins

Henry Bonke Shehu/Micheal Simon

Musa/Onachu Oshimen.

I am not sold on Ejuke yet!
I still think the team is formidable enough to salvage a draw!
A win will be a bonus!

Actually, a lot of our players will start playing for foreign nations. Particularly those who
spend too much time in obscure leagues or moreover, strikers as we are producing
too many strikers and wingers.
For example, Stephen Gopey (a former Npfl player) is doing well in Ukraine (which is a top 10 league in Europe)
but with the way we are producing strikers, he may end up playing for Ukriane as it may take sometime
before our coaches notice him.
This is why i laugh at those against us using foreing born players. In modern sports anybody can play for anybody
and with the mass migration that is a feature of the modern world, playing for another country is possible.

Meanwhile watchout for Ahmed Abdulahi the boy was part of our last u-17 and big European teams
are chasing him up and down. Dortmund, Marseile etc are after him during one of his training sessions
in Europe it was reported he scored 15 goals in 2 days. scorenigeria.com.ng is covering his development.
The boy is only 17 and the hype around him is very big. He is a striker (another testament to the large amount
of striking talent we are developing)
