Who even started this roadside dumping of refuse in Nigeria. We need to find that person and give him some slaps.

If you go to Aba or some part of Enugu, you will marvel. Port Harcourt is also becoming dirty since Wike sacked the contractors.

I really wonder who brought the idea of dumping refuse at the middle of the road...

The ones in PH really pains me, especially in the RUMUS..

Picture speaks louder than voice---describes the dirtiest conditions in Ogun state and why citizens are concerned. There is going to be outbreak of diseases in Ogun state very soon if those wastes are not removed and contained ASAP

Who is the governor of ogun state?
Those pictures of waste all over the streets tell me Ogun state has no leader or governor.

My advice

I advice citizens of Ogun state to begin state wide protest over Non disposal of those wastes as soon as possible. Protest is the most powerful weapon citizens have to get things done in a democracy. Short of state wide protest, those trash are not going to be taken care of.

Nigeria is a black run country and that means solutions to problems are hard to come by!

Why did Wike sack the contractors collecting waste?

Nigeria governments are always trying to cut costs in the wrong places. Instead of cutting costs from the top of society, politicians salaries and superfluous agencies they rather take food out from the mouth of the bottom of society

Nigeria as a whole is a very dirty country. Nigeria lack sanitzation. Every state, city, town, and village in Nigeria has refugees everywhere. Nigeria doesn't have Sanitation who will pick up garbages two or three times a week. since the government can't provide or organize sanitation, people end up dumping garbages anywhere they see and of course, Nigerians are dirty themselves too and lack proper sanitation indivdiual.
the problem is basically from Nigerians... We don't have that culture of keeping the environment clean... We only clean our sitting room lol

No wonder cholera hit the state. It's been in the news since yesterday. That's what happens when the will of the majority is upturned and the politicians succeed by way of imposition of candidates. Dapo abiodun must settle jagaban first, to fulfill his promise as agreed before elections

Even Nairaland is as dirty as Ogun State. I wonder how Nairaland will look if it was a town for it's old garbage look and functionality.
I wonder how Seun Osewa is living in that Shitty fucking dirty hot state, well no wonder Nairaland still look like this Shit!!!! Living in village in the North is better than living in Mowe, Ibafo, Shagamu, Ijebu-Ode, Owode, Sango Otta and even their overhype Capital Abeokuta. Sometimes I pass through those places they look like a dump site. Different kinds of horrible smell coming out. Dirty smelly waterlogged gutters with worse roads ever. Sometimes you wonder and imagine if they have Senators or Governor or anybody in politics. All of them are useless with their looted money they steal in government if their home State can be so worse as that. Nonsense!!!!

On twitter, many citizens have been asking the government to fulfil its role, saying that people are being forced to dump their wastes by roadsides and on the median of the road due to lack of proper waste management system.

One resident on twitter said that, "The state is too dirty and I hope the government should try and make a law to tackle this dirtiness."

Another resident tweeted that, "The total number of PSP is not enough for Abeokuta South alone, talk more of the entire state. There is no single PSP in the entire ifo. What a shame"

Why did Wike sack the contractors collecting waste?
He sacked them because they were appointed by Amechi. Okay,, appoint your own people,no. He handed the waste management agency to his then party chairman. They now play kpangolo with waste collection and disposal and cleaning of streets. Portharcourt joined dirty state capitals since then.

You see this matter ehn... While we blame the leaders, what about you citizens?!!

What kind of idiots dump refuse like this?!! What happened to using proper disposal bags?!! How do you just pour waste on the road just like that when it isn't a refuse dump?!!... I can go on and on... Shall we talk about those who deliberately pour refuse into gutters and drains?!! Is that not insanity?!!

That your leaders have chosen to be unfortunate doesn't mean you equally toe that path.

Most Nigerians are more irresponsible and corrupt than the very leaders they criticize.

They dumb ones are celebrating IGR grin

What's the effect of the IGR when your states are so much in debt, no project ongoing, deplorable roads, workers are not paid, what are they doing with the claimed high IGR

Below is the debt stock,

It is not anyone fault that your 5% states has the lowest IGR in Nigeria. Ogun state IGR alone is bigger than all yours states IGR combine together, if that is unbearable to you, please hang yourself.

Most of them have migrated to Lagos, and have abandoned their Ogun state to only farmers.
The state is going down.
The people travel to Ogun state only on weekends for parties (Burials) and return back to Lagos on Sunday night.

You pretty right... I know people who used to own lots of properties in Ogun state..but they decided to sell them off because of the bad Roads...lack of infrastructure and the state seems not to be growing atall ...

If care is not taking in the near future...only the grandpa's and grandma will remain in Ogun state..
I wish there's something that can be done...
