They're related. Singers with good voices would want to showcase them and those without will always hide behind autotune. And a great majority of afrobeats are autotune. That Dodo song with Tiwa Savage and the all-star ensemble is proof of your over reliance on the sound effect (all 5 or 6 artists used it heavily throughout the entire video).

But I guess the focus is on the beat (hence afrobeats) and they've become international stars using the formula so congrats to them. I don't know why you're bothered that silly old man is not a fan.

Anyway, let's drop the autotune thing - I see it bothers u. Don't wanna torture u any further my pal

That Doro song is actually nice for me only coz of the traditional West African drum. It's a bit too fast paced for me and yes chaotic in places but the film production is definitely on point.

But that damn autotune is everywhere dude - even Tiwa Savage is using it throughout . I always see her name here but have never heard her music and there she was right now on extreme autotune (SMH). I'm assuming this is an all-star ensemble and for goodness sake all of them where on autotune. Even though I kinda enjoyed the beat I honestly couldn't listen to 2 more autotuned tracks after this without slitting my throat.

Where is the "all star" in dija, reekado, korede bello huh ..

you lie. The only users of auto tune in dat song was don jazzy, korede nd dija, maybe dr sid or d prince, i cant remember. Excluding tiwa nd don jazzy, d rest were nt dat big to be called stars. Don jazzy is a producer, it should justify his use of autotune.

you can easily tell when the voice is electronic

Go listen to babez wodumo, busiswa nd d one that sang jerusalema plus sho madjoze. A couple of ur musicians yell while singing. Whenever this naira marley song comes on "am coming" i usually cringe wen it get to south african lady's part. Sometimes i wonder if d microphone she was using was faulty while recording, she had to start yelling.

No. We dont yell. Only a very minute number of our musician does. E.g davido, yemi alade nd maybe reminisce.

but S.a's K.O, EMTEE, MAFIKIZOLO, THE JERUSALEMA CROONER, nd a large number of others.

Nigerian music that's not Afrobeat simply doesn't thrive, let's just not sugarcoat it. it's basically Afrobeat or nothing! it's exact;ly why your artists switch genres.
Niniola basically does South African style type of music hence her collaborations with SA producers
Your hip hop doesn't sound to different from your Afrobeats, you should probably get proper Hip hop producers.I understand Phyno's supposed to be a rapper but sounds Afrobeats too! All of them, Yemi,patoranking, etc

I remember telling Jace and XhosaNstra years back that I would witness Nigerians paying djs in Joburg clubs to play afrobeats. And then we would be bombarded with "autotune" for an hour or so and then return back to House and afro pop.

I'm proud of SA though, we dance to our own beat over here (amapiano right now) - and not follow afrobeats like sheep as the rest of Africa is doing.

You know Cassper Nyovest, that means you do recognize some of our artists. Nigerians do Know the likes of Nasty C, AkA etc. that's recognition
