Brothers's keeper? When you guys are killing people, breaking their drinks and claiming you own Nigeria to the Atlantic because you murdered some South Easterners in the past, you did not remember to keep your brother. With time, we will tear that evil Constitution after exploiting the loop holes. Then you will keep your brothers. Anyone has chilled Hero for Wike and Speaker Rt. Hon. Ikunyi Ibani. Those guys are shacking me with actions. Wike has instructed all companies to pay September Tax to the State Internal Revenue. Try and pay outside and let strong head pikin catch you. He will seal your businesses. Hisbah ke, Hisbah ni. |

You can as well collect vat on the Ransomes been paid to the bandits in your region, play-play play-play, restructuring don start be that. After the vat and income tax then resources control. Then federal government can help us merge two or three northern states. |

But when imposing sharia law upon others you don’t remember to be your brothers keeper. What’s wrong with what Wike said? True federalism is the way to go abeg true federalism would reduce the fight and clamour for presidency by states and regions. Cause these days people want to be president so they can scoop resources from all the states and use it to develop selected few while others suffer |

Federal money is being used to pay repentant killer bandits N110,000 a month The South also needs the VAT funds and refunds to keep its teeming unemployed Youths gainfully busy and out of Crime If being your brothers keeper cannot prevent the North from allowing the South to be overrun by their Lawless and armed to the teeth Killer Bandits how can it Prevent the South from collecting VAT generated by their States to. look after their People ? |

Instead of giving the money to them, they should start sharing the money to the poor masses, jobless graduates, widows, use the money to open more companies in the south . Lagos and Rivers state government can join resources together and build a mega refinery. Please they should not use that VAT to sponsor failures and backwardness. The north should keep stealing, giving birth to one million children and sponsoring terrorism. |

Cannot verify if this is a fact but speaking to someone this morning saying the origin of this brouhaha was Wike's alarm at the Bill of Quantities Julius Berger presents for the public works he has been undertaking and the humongous VAT attached. Now I am fully aware VAT is paid by Civil Engineering firms since the scheme was introduced decades ago but when you sit back really think this through does it make sense for governments to indirectly tax one another and for heavens sake public work are non profit, social services whose value lie in enhancing the quality of lives. It sounds ridiculous to pay VAT for the construction of roads to ease traffic or a bridge or culvert or drain system to preserve the environment. And then see the bulk of that taxation go elsewhere for the development of some other territory. Why punish a state for trying to develop. In this I can understand the angst. |

Hahaha! Lagos State will not carry last in getting VAT. In fact, FIRS will soon be abandoned. This is good. More laws like .....let's go there. I said it before, and I am saying it again that there is no need for secession. Make SS and SE start strategizing how to cut off the crude pipe to Kaduna refinery legally. They should use everything within their power to fight FG. This is the way forward. There is absolutely no need to start fighting for any damn president of Nigeria..the Prime Minister of each region controls the resources. And let there be supreme court in each regions. Then, State police should take over. When State police takes over, DSS cannot harass anyone. Military will be relegated to only war. Dem no norn dem well to maltreat civilians. This is the way forward. Wike of River, my guy. Nice one. Ortum of Benue....good one. Akete of Ondo...nice one. And see...Jagaban is showing the north gradually that he that brought Buhari to power can also instigate and make the whole of the south leave the north. Let's see how everything plays out. |

PeaceJoyLove:No need for Prime Minister. Let us work with a legistlative system. No emperor. No oga patapata. Only Senate President. No Governor, only speaker of the house. No LGA Chairman. Let the local Senate handle matters. Let us know where diversion is from. Development projects should be done by Community Development under a Senate system. |

Infact the humor of the situation is simple when you wake up to the fact that 1. All states in Nigeria have the same problem...low tax to gdp ratios, low percentage of the taxable population paying taxes. 2.Most state governors know what to do, ....tax everyone including the majority in the informal sector, the farmers, the laborer's, the herdsmen, etc. 3.They won't do it...because it means they all get voted out. 4.Southern state governors thus hit on seizing VAT...as a smart way of getting out of their predicament. It helps them in these ways FIRST: they get some extra money for the state coffers without having to raise taxes on the majority who don't pay taxes.(even though long term it may not be enough, but that's not the point) SECOND: it helps them politically; gives southern nigerians an enemy to focus on (the evil North)...and also shows them as defenders of the South vs the parasitic, evil, North. It also enables them to get voted into office forever and ever....after they finish being governors. (Just as one Alhaji Sani got himself a permanent seat as A SENATOR after retiring as a GOVERNOR because he introduced Sharia) 5.Northern governors are in a quandary FIRST: They lose the extra income from vat..which worsens their allocation from Abuja...especially as oil is low...and still low. SECOND: They then may have to do what their southern governor counterparts are not going to do...raise taxes on the majority of their population that like the South does not pay taxes. Which means they cannot have any polticial benefits...and anyone of them hoping for bigger things after governor is in trobule. That's why when I tell people I don't like APC or PDP....they think I am lying. Well, this whole VAT thing is one of the ways both sets of politicians pull wool over our eyes. Now it is the turn of our Southern governors. Meanwhile....the money from VAT would not be enough long term. And the problem still remains....30% of taxable Nigerians actually pay taxes, and our tax to gdp ratio is 6.1% and we are still dependent on oil. But hey, we have beaten those Northerners. Just like the North used Sharia to beat them Southerners. That's all that matters. Either way, Nigeria keeps on suffering. Tomorrow...most of you praising WIKE will end up asking the same question.....where is the money going to? Why am I not seeing benefit? Why won't you..when the problem causing the lack of money was never really addressed? |
