Happy new month! I greet the house.
We just received message from nvc stating they received our application and a case number has been created and it it take weeks for them to send the application to the embassy. Can I go ahead and fill in the form ds 160 now?
If you don’t mind, when was your case approved at USCIS? Just curious to know how long it took NVC to create your case number

2nd November 2020, USCIS received case

19th July 2021 we received NOA2 case was approved and sent to nvc (that's 9month and 2 weeks from NOA1-NOA2. though it could have been earlier cos we received RFE)

31st August 2021 (NVC case number created)

Embassy processing is Dakar Senegal for interview.

yes please, this means your case is on its way to US embassy in Lagos, you can track your case on https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ with your case number, you can also pay your visa fee of $265 after which you create an account and book your interview date on https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ kindly note that you may likely get a date for next year but ensure you select the next available date you see on the portal, all the best to you

I tried to login ceac they saying I should type in nvc invoice ID number which was not in the email they sent. How do i go about it?

That’s almost a year.. has the petitioner tried contacting USCIS or did you guys receive an RFE? Because by now you should have heard from them.

Yes I did. We actually opened a ticket and they told us we will get a decision in 45 days. The 45 days elapsed yesterday. So hopeful for an update soon.

Age difference is always a red flag especially if its a younger man and older woman, that's why am asking those that have successfully gotten the K1-Visa even with huge age gaps to share there experience.

Age difference is always normal to occur.. either with the male or female partner. Rarely would u see partners with same age. So age difference is never new. It is only considered significant if its a 20 years gap and above but 2,5,10,12 years are common differences the uscis or c.o’s see everyday.
So, as long as you have a bonafide and genuine relationship with your partner and you are able to prove it with the required documents and to the Consular officer, then you have no problem.

So I finally apply for the ds 160 NIV and print out the confirmation page. I called the embassy here in Senegal they said i should wait to receive a letter from the embassy with instructions to pay the fee and book appointment. Senegal processing is kinda different from the rest of the world cos I was wondering why Senegal is not in the list when you click Africa on ustraveldocs.com I found out on VisaJourney there is another designated website where us visa applicant uss to pay fees and book appointment. I just hope im not in for another marathon wait
