By the way, I never knew Seniorwriter was a freelancer. Hello?
I was....now I'm a Mentor....I have prodigies and have built a Team that executes proficiently any freelance contract that is online related.
Nowadays I earn more with sales funnels and landing pages setup.

I'll be resigning in the from my work place to venture into Freelancing full time. Why?

Because my work is so stressful. It's 6:04am and I'm already late for work. I'll be at the work place doing tedious work till 7:30pm. I'll have to be standing till that evening time of the day. It's a one man business and I risk being fired any time. From March to August, I've been able to save 55k. I don't do it drinks. Neither do I smoke or buy expensive things for myself. Well, yes. I don't have a girlfriend. So saving 55k portrays how zealous I am with the savings with the little I earn. Now, I'm facing a health challenge: a back and waist pain. So I want out.

Planning on focusing on the Freelancing route.

My worry now is, am I making the right decision?

I need your advice. What would you do if you were to be me?

To be or not to be?

To be honest with you, if you don't have a physical or 90% of the next thing you want to do, then don't quit your job.... I know without risk no success but risk pass risk.

Get a good laptop with a very good battery, look for platforms that offers skills for free, get a good plan for your monthly data, ask questions, network with folks too. Wishing you all the best.

You are making a mistake. Forget all those people saying they make millions from gigs on upwork and freelancer! Guy naa lie, that naa why they come on nairaland to look for people who will pay for tutorial.

Before you get a gig, you go wait Taya. Don't quite your job except you have other way to generate money first
Op, I beg u, listen to this advice...
Re: Finally, I Left My Job For Freelancing! by FahBuLous: 11:07pm On Aug 26, 2021
Ofadaman:
Most likely be frustrated after two months when you don't get the gigs.

Are you passionate about the kind of work you want to freelance for, or you're just looking for ways to leave your current job. If it's the later you're just wasting your time, people just think freelancing is just easy peasy where you just enter and start getting gigs everywhere, it's not so, you spend years in it to build enough portfolio, so my advice, stay at your job, and be doing your freelance with every bit of spare time you have, before moving out.
I'm sure when you do your freelance alongside your job and you stay months without a single gig, and face the humongous number of competition in the freelance space, you'd be happy you didn't just quit and dive into freelancing without building the portfolio and project base.

People make money from it but most of them exaggerate the amount they actually earn.

For instance check out the guy whose comment is 2 steps above yours, he claims he makes so much but he's here scouting for 15 people to pay him 30K each for training grin
ThanGod you see that scouting .... That's how scammers operate... Great English and everything.... pay finish they disappear... 450k just like that!!

Most sensible reply I've read. Use freelancing to make passive income first. Then, if it pays you too we'll to sustain you, go full time. Right now, I started last month and I have just got a gig-pure luck though, I guess it's grace. I created an account in 2013, still haven't gotten a gig with it. Never go into it full time at first.

I know someone who borrowed 5k for data (2gig for a start) a laptop, plus tab that was previously gifted to him (used for both WiFi and writing) to start freelance writing on Upwork in December 2014. He got his first 5 hours gig in February 2015 for $3/hr (after more than 2 months of fearless grinding and efforts to land that super illusive first gig). He completed the gig with joy and got his first glowing 5-star review.

Today the guy has grown to become a digital marketing strategist and consultant purely by self development and brutal commitment to excellence and self-driven learning.

To be clear, this dude never attended secondary school once in his life let alone a university. But he's a super bright autodidact, with a vampire level of resilience.
