The EPL clubs are happy to pay that price cos the alternative is that they release the players but then are subject to the UK rule that demands 14 day quarantine when the players come back.

Statistics may be applicable, but it is incredibly hard to be umbiased, especially in the proper assignment of weights to each index. We can certainly judge a measure by its results. A method that places Puskas above Maradona is wack. It looks like the measure cared more about ranking Messi and Ronaldo than producing an actual ranking.

And no mathematics is not life. However we are thankful that it is incredibly useful.
