they are Muslims sir. Nigeria is not the only. Country that has this problem..

Fulani and dozo tribe in Mali are at war cuz of this. Dozo are mainly traditionalists and they blame Fulani for imposing jihad on them. They are Muslims, the ones in aghfanistan, Syria, Mozambique, Somalia, Mali, etc are all Muslims. Let's stop telling lies to our selves.

Dozo is not a tribe or ethnic group, it is a cinfraternity of hunters in some west African countries that has been alleged to be participating in ethnic cleansing of Fula people in the west African countries they are located in and allegedly supported by the Malian government (which is predominantly Muslim) similar to yansakai in Nigeria.
In Northern Nigeria, the biggest victims of bandits are also predominantly Muslims and those fighting against them are also largely Muslims. There is no evidence suggesting any religious purpose for the crime being committed by these bandits and it started as ethnic clashes.

In fact, two of the most notorious bandit leaders are not fulani.

The whole thing is exactly like wokou "Japanese" pirates that terrorized the coasts of China and Korea in the 13th-16th century. It will be very erroneous to claim they are Buddhist just because the religion that predominates east Asia was Buddhism. The crime had nothing to do with religion.

You would prefer to live in a country where genocide and mass killings are not reported?

You didn't make sense with this post. Why is Nigeria not always looking to be among countries that solved their problems but always looking to be among countries that have problem...

Somethings are not going to stop by the bullet but they can be suppressed, the ARMED FORCES are being engaged in multiple front and they are trying to make themselves available at every point regardless of how strain they are. The little the media would have done concerning non state actors and bandits was become a force.
There are ways to write news and the bandit will become the coward that they are even if the armed forces are killing them in two.
Let say the armed forces killed four bandit today, the hype from the media could help discourage young people who want to buy into the idea.

Muslims keep dogs provided the purpose for doing such is not have them as pets but as working intrument eg. Hunting guarding and searching
I have 6 in my house...
I don't let them touch my praying clothes, however u can touch thier fur, there fur is pure, but the mouth or saliva is what we avoid.
We only don't keep pigs because they have no value of whatever kind to a Muslim..
Infact in an Islamic state if u steal a pig belonging to a Muslim, he can't sue you, same with alcohol, because they are not considered as a property...
But if a Muslims steals a pig or alcohol belonging to a non Muslims, he will be punished... Because it a property to non Muslims...
But this is not applicable to dogs

The media is not fanning any coal. They are raising your awareness to the fact that there is an issue to be addressed. They are telling you yesterday 2 kids were killed today 5 were killed, things are getting very bad and things need to be done about it.

I never said they should not raise awareness concerning this issues but I maintain my stand that they are fanning the flame of disunity and insecurity.
When you don't pay attention to a plant(bandit's) it automatically dies and when you spray insecticides around them the weed dies(aspirant), same again if you pay attention to the plant, you will nurture it and it will grow the way you want it to, you design it the way you want, you take charge of the narrative.
In a few you to come I believe we will all realise how much damage we have done to our country.

Let me give you an example of how the media has been very irresponsible. There is a thread on nairaland front page today with the headline stating that El-rufai said FG had been slowing down governors from ending banditry, implying that Federal government has been deliberately preventing the governors from ending banditry, the body of the article is entirely different from that.
The number of fake news we've been seeing in the past few years from traditional and social media is alarming. No verification of news, most have no correspondents on ground in many of the locations they cover in their news, many depend on social media post of random people for news, especially the sensational ones. It's almost as if they are struggling to compete with bloggers who post for internet traffic to their monetized sites( they actually do, how many people buy newspapers and magazines these days). Many of the major news group have had to change parts of their articles after publication because it contained false information.
Another recent example of media irresponsibility is the recent querying of the establishment of desert warfare command of the Nigerian navy in the north of the country and not in the south because it is a "naval base" that should be situated near coasts, implying that it was politically motivated.
All these aren't surprising as we all know that many of the media organizations are owned by politicians who served in past/present administrations and misinformation to them is simply a means to an end.

It's for this reason I always advocate putting source reference and links....people just copy and paste without verifying and make it seem like they got information first hand, or they are omniscience, people won't learn till they end up in prison. I don't understand why this simple act, seems so difficult for them.
