My Toyota Camry 03 (Big daddy) was stolen on 28/29th of August just outside my compound where it was parked overnight at Ibidun street, surulere.

The vehicle was locked properly and even with steering and pedal lock. Gone to make report at the police station, nothing forthcoming yet.

Seems this particular brand of Toyota and pencil light Corolla can easily be broken into and whisked away cos same thing happen to a friend of mine 3 months back . Parked Infront of his all through the night and came out in the morning to figure that his car had been stolen . Neighbor’s cctv beside his house captured the thieves breaking into the car at 5am

Everyone is shouting Car tracker! This can be effective only if the thief doesn't know there is a tracker installed. Car tracker itself can be disabled or vandalised.

Not entirely true Uncle. My highlander 2003 came with no spare key. The spare I made was programed with chip to work with it.

He reported it to the police authority, and should the police finds it when he is already settled by the insurance company, who will the police contact.? which law states that he cannot still search for the car while the process of settling the loss is on going which does not have a time line, and could take months, even a year, who knows? which law?

Searching is different from an actual claim to the car when found after he was already settled. You cannot prove that his intent for searching for his stolen car is to commit insurance fraud. Definitely if he finds it while the process with the insurance is on going. what makes you think he will lay claim to compensation from the insurance company? Do you have evidence to that?
