Good day everyone. Tired of searching for a FG job for 8 good years, I have gone ahead to learn printing and branding. I have registered my business and I am currently sourcing for contracts from agencies and ministries. I can deliver quality jobs such as branded envelopes, letter head paper, stickers, flex banners, branded souvenirs etc. Anyone that can help connect me to do a job will get an agreed percentage. I am based in Abuja. Thanks and sorry for derailing the thread.

No, they haven't done any recruitment since the new ES but I overheard a staff saying someone was recently employed.
The ES no try sha...when she would have done replacements, she removed most of the senior officers assistants and assigned them their own offices.

Good afternoon, all.
I've been jobless for 2 years now, and I finally got a job in Contonou, Benin Republic with monthly renumeration of 70,000 Naira. Honestly, I'm having a double mind about the taking the offer. Please, I sincerely need people's opinion. Should I take the offer or continue my job hunting in Nigeria??

I would advice you not to go anywhere, 40k salary or business in Nigeria here around your area is higher than that 70k job and i believe it is because you have the feeling from your heart not to go, that's why you asked here.
Truth is, there are little businesses that can give you 30k in a month at where you are now and can grow as you develop it.

So Except you are actively pursuing career and its a career job and you have plans on rising from there to where you want to be, then don't go.

Whoever told you CBN pays more than PPRA and PTDF must have lied to you. Then you placing NIMASA as an D list agencies shows you have no idea of the salary package of the agencies you mention. Even the new NIMC package is peanuts compared to other agencies. Also AMCON, NIMASA and NPA have better package than NFIU that have a consolidated salary under IPPIS.

The dispute between the Federal Inland Revenue Service and some states over the collection of Value Added Tax seems to be taking a new turn by the day as two more states, Ogun and Akwa Ibom, say they are ready to enact laws that will enable them to collect the tax in their states.

This is as some employees of the FIRS are currently in panic mode over the recent moves by states to begin collection of Value Added Tax, Sunday PUNCH has learnt.

Three members of the FIRS workers’ union told one of our correspondents that stripping the FIRS of the power to collect VAT could reduce the commission the agency would have received by as much as N96bn.

The FIRS had stated in a document submitted to the National Assembly that it projected it would be able to collect N2.44tn from both import and non-import VAT in 2022.

The FIRS, which takes four per cent of the amount collected as VAT as its commission, projected it would receive N96bn in 2022.

Should the states begin collecting VAT, the FIRS would lose this huge sum, a top source within the tax body told one of our correspondents.

The source said, “Our highest source of revenue is Petroleum Tax and VAT. Others include Stamp Duty, Company Tax and a few others. VAT is number two for us and we are paid bonuses based on performance.

“If we stop collecting VAT, the FIRS will not be able to pay bonuses and other special packages to staff. As it is, many of us are scared because we don’t know what will happen next.”

Another senior employee told Sunday PUNCH that the FIRS had hired too many staff members and its wage bill was high. He said the service might be forced to reduce its workers once VAT payment was taken away.

Another employee said, “One big problem we have in the FIRS is that almost every big politician has a relative in this agency due to the system of patronage we run in this country, whereby political office holders are given slots. The implication is that we have too many workers and our wage bill and overhead cost are high. We will be lucky if some of us are not sacked.”

Out of the FIRS’ N216.65bn budget for the 2021 fiscal year, the sum of N107.52bn is for personnel cost; N47.22bn for overhead cost; and N61.9bn for capital cost.

As of 2019, the FIRS had about 9,000 staff members but the figure is believed to have increased since then.

The agency has been criticised for frivolous expenses such as setting aside N160m to sew uniforms for 850 drivers and budgeting N825m for refreshment and security vote of N250m, among others in 2019.

Before we attack or say anything we should first find out what he means by his grading if A-F only then can we comment.

Because ifs well known that NIMASA earns more than NCC, NNPC, DPR or that AMCON is a powerful place to work or that NPA "official" annual take up is more than 5mill.

Maybe he graded his using a method we don't know of unless he tells us. So let's not rush to conclusion

Very true, pls Mr Philippianlobbos, if you're not sure about certain things, please don't say anything, you'll just end up misleading people, how will PPPRA n PTDF be under B-list, forgetting that all d Petroleum parastatals av related salaries n allowances, moreover PPPRA n PEF are now to be merged (PIB now PIA) please kindly stop misleading people, most times I go through ur posts, I always feel for people that will be misled. How can AMCON n NIMASA be under D-list? I'm sorry to say dat ur analysis about most of d parastatals is wrong. We appreciate some of ur confirmed (genuine) information.

Would have criticised if the list made sense as I don't even know where to start. He should do his findings especially from NSIWC before dropping any list in order not to mislead a lot of people here.
