mrvitalis:That is a recipe for chaos. You want one company to file taxes in all the 36 states? You know it's not enforceable that way. Streamline everything by collecting only at the point of manufacturing. A state can't be business friendly, making concessions to new industries, attracting businesses, only to have those businesses pay VAT to lazy states. 4 Likes |

wirinet:That is when common sense will set in. We all know states have been created not based on common sense. States will have to merge to cut cost on governance....and go heavy on delivery and service to citizens. It happened in banking under Soludo, and we all are the better for it. It should happen in politics too. 2 Likes |

Ibkhaleel001:Your type are doing a disservice to the interest of the northern populace. Answer these questions honestly, and you will see exactly who to fight for. What is the proportion of out of school children. Maternal mortality rate. Proportion of the northerners in the real sector(not government jobs). Half of your population is redundant(women). How many northerners are in the jobs of the future( tech, fin tech). What type of jobs do northern migrants in the south do. And what type of jobs do southern migrants do in the north. Compare. You need to fight for the rights of the downtrodden in the north. And not for the interests of the so called leaders. 4 Likes |

Forget rabble-rousing journalists and bloggers and social media influencers with you who would want to push the narrative of the “unknown gunmen” (clandestine agents) or shout to the high heavens of being victimised. That never helps in such situations. In most civil wars, crushed sides almost always win propagandas. Please, try to study history, my brother |

Tayeni:VAT is same as sales tax ...or consumer tax ..it's the tax the final consumer pays for value added to the product So someone in imo buys Coke u want the coke to go to Lagos because the head office is in Lagos ? Equity and fairness is all we want All companies that operate nation wide file tax in all 36 states it's nothing new So MTN staff working in Kano would pay income tax to Lagos because head office is Lagos ? No I'm only saying treat VAT as income tax simple |

Mynd44:each service rendered in any region should be taxed and have it remitted to the region's government. That is simple enough to grab. Companies that have different branches in different regions should divide their taxes which will turn be paid into the coffers of the region they are situated. That is also simple enough This is restructuring without wars |

Bonesbreaker:let me take my time to educate you...cux it seems you lack basic knowledge but is filled up with hate and propaganda that you have inherited from your backward fraud region... £1 = N705 $1 = N505 €1 = N605 02/08/2021 0.78k = $1 02/08/1980 Are you surprised? We were far more productive in 1980 than we are today In 1980 the key reasons for economic growth were are as follows: 1) We were a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products. 2) We rode in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos. Leyland in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu produced our buses and trucks. Steyr at Bauchi producing our Agricultural tractors. And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components. Vono products in Lagos producing the seats. Exide in Ibadan producing the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa. Isoglass and TSG in Ibadan producing the windshields. Ferodo in Ibadan producing the brake pads and discs Tyres produced by Dunlop in Lagos and Mitchelin in Portharcourt. And I mean tyres produced from rubber plantations located in Ogun and Rivers State. 3) We were listening to Radio and watching television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo. 4) We were using refrigerators, freezers and Airconditioners produced by Thermocool and Debo. 5) We were putting on clothes produced from the UNTL textile mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos. Not from imported cotton but from cotton grown in Nigeria. 6) Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano and Duraplast in Lagos . 7) Our toilets were fitted with WC produced at Kano and Abeokuta. We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan. 9) Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian wire and Cable, Ibadan, NOCACO in Kaduna and Kablemetal in Lagos and Portharcourt. 10) We had Bata and Lennards producing the shoes we were putting on Not from imported leather but from locally tanned leather at Kaduna. 11) We were mainly flying our airways, the Nigeria Airways, to most places in the world. The Airways was about the biggest in Africa at that time. 12) Most of the food we ate were being grown or produced in Nigeria. We were producing all of the above and more in 1980 Today, we import almost everything. There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everybody reading this has a critical role to play in reversing this very UGLY trend. We have been talking about these problems and more for ages... It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or point out what others are not doing or are failing to do, the key question is what are we producing or what are we planning to produce? Going forward, it's time to ponder and think of the way forward before it's TOO LATE. What solutions do you have in mind? |

Bonesbreaker:You still need to be educated about the reason?? In the whole 8years of OBJ's administration he did not see a single Hausa/Fulani northerner worthy of appointment as Service Chief, IGP or DG (DSS). Victor Malu, Martin Luther Agwai, Jonah Wuyep, Luka Yusuf, Ibrahim Ogehi, then IGP Tafa Balogun, Musliu Smith, Sunday Ehindero, Mike Okiro up to the DG (DSS) Col. Aare (rtd), were his selected appointees to oversee our security architecture. Where appointments were to be made from Kano or Sokoto (whole seat of Chaliphate) he would look for the Adamu Baikis, the Solomon Matankaris who are indegenous Christians of the area. If Hausas/Fulanis complained, Obj’s response was, “all the appointees were your people, brothers from the North”. Of course they were; he even used sme tactics to play a very dangerous divide and rule politics with northerners; his arrow - headmen, Jerry Gana & Solomon Lar were part and parcel of the Villa cabals, members of his kitchen cabinet who determined most appointment made by the government Agencies. Google all the very sensitive position then, there was no single Hausa or Fulani there. CBN, Joseph Sanusi later Soludo. Custom Buba Gyan, NNPC Edmund Dakoru, to mention just a few. Never forget that OBJ flushed out more than 500 soldiers of Northern extraction, from the ranks of Major and above, who held political appointments during the past military administrations, including orderlies and ADCs. Those who survived his hammer, like Bamalli Nuhu were assembled and bombed in the mountainous region; between Benue and Cross River States. Obasanjo’s civil service reform were mainly targeted at northerners who mostly, (80%) became victims; from NEPA,Maritime, NPA and Aviation etc. Northerners were major casualties. Similarly all the replacements that followed were from his kiths and kins, and his god sons. Prior to 1999, more than 15 international airlines operate or had their routes to Kano, but Obasanjo made sure he decimated that to only 3 before he left. Very very fresh in our memories is how he stylishly killed all the Northern textiles, groundnuts and cotton pyramids as well as many other agronomic economies; particularly the poultry using the hoax claim of “birds flu” conspiracy that obliterated all major players in the sector, from northern region. He also deliberately opened our boarders for the importation of all kinds of agricultural goods, which tactically killed virtually all local industries in Kano, Kaduna, Gusau to mention just a few. He stated and ensured DIC and Peugeot and Steyr plants became comatose.virtually all critical northern enterprises were put out of business with deadly attendant consequences. For example, in Kano alone there were more than 5000 factories / industries located in Challawa, Bompai and Sharada industrial estates. Before Obj’s tenure ended he made sure 80% of those factories folded up, and the remaining 20% were operating at half level, below minimal capacities due to his well designed, well executed, skewed economic policies. Remember the housing, monetization and privatisation policies he used our people to execute? This program was conceptualised and well executed to basically empower his kiths and Kins to owned choice properties in Abuja and Lagos. The privatisation was used to catapult cronies and surrogates, as well as God sons, into multi-billionaires. People like Mike Adenuga, Fola Adeola, Jimoh Ibrahim, Jim Ovia, Chris and the Andy Ubahs, to mention just a few. Most of these people were, prior to 1999, using night buses to & fro Lagos/Abuja. Incidentally within a span of short period, all were flying private jets, while the country, North in particular was rapidly sliding backwards. One can continue on and on; why the north and northerners tolerated all that, only God knows. The current clamor for self determination by some states from previous regions are nothing but blackmails that, to me, are dead on arrival. Rather than experiencing the Obj treatment again, it suffices if every single region go its separate way. The north can not afford to make the 1999 blunder again. Democracy is a game of numbers; anybody who thinks he/she is competent to lead us should come out and contest. The north is not ready to concede to any blackmail. Hope it is now clear to you? |

Bonesbreaker:privatization will condemn all the silly half baked points you made! Buhari's administration had something to show to Nigerians in 2019 as their 4 years achievements. They will have hundred times more things to show Nigerians as their achievements come 2023. Even In Your land, Buhari's APC have hundreds of achievements including multi billion naira ultra modern highways, bridges, interchanges, airports, seaports, railway lines, power projects, refineries (the one in Ohaji already completed & producing), agricultural projects, industrial parks & help to Igbo businesses to make them global players today (Innoson, Anammco, Choscaris, Air Peace, Oliserve just to name a few) & Ziks Mausoleum etc to show Igbo electorates as their achievements for 8 years. Where is are Igbos and Yorubas who run PDP & government achievements in Nigeria or Igboland for 16 years they were in charge? For the past 8 years your tribe & diabolic PDP have no logical, clear nor cohorent intelligent strategy to win back power at the centre or at least get ourselves back into the mainstream of Nigeria's politics.
