The truth is most people don’t get it. The artificial sweeteners won’t spike up your blood sugar like the natural sugars. That was the aim.

Do you know that the body does not break down saccharin? It leaves the same way it enters the body.
There are even some cases of doctors prescribing it to diabetes patients

It depends.
Some dubious Nigerian companies without integrity will still mix a small amount of sugar with other sweetners.
But for those who don't add sucrose or fructose syrup, they usually add alternative sweetners such as saccharine, aspartame or acesulphame - K.

They are also other sweetners like stevia, sorbitol, xylitol etc. But these ones are not found in drinks.

But the problem is that aspartame is a source of phenylalanine that makes the urine black In some individuals. And multiple research on the long term effect of some of these sweetners show that they are not safe.

So it's sort of like jumping from frying pan to fire.

Your best bet is to avoid them as much as possible. Or limit your consumption to the barest minimum .

Zero sugar contains aspertame which is a protein, but is it 500times sweeter than sugar.
Meanwhile is not advisable to take d zero sugar because of risk of kidney damage better stick with ur regular coke or Pepsi
