Sir I disagree with you on this…

One of the major car odor is Driver sleeping in the car turning the car to a room self contained.

I picked a rider around Abraham Adesanya to VI last week the man conversations sounds like this…

Man; good morning sir
Me: morning sir
Man: please sir am so sorry to ask this questions which I don’t normally do.::: hope you’re not among those drivers that sleep in the car?
Me: never hope no problem sir?
Man: no problem sir you can come now am opposite a supermarket.
Me: on 1.9 surge make I sharply carry him.

I picked the man and he was bitterly complaining that 2 bolt driver that came, their cars stinks like mortuary although he asked them and they confirmed they slept in the car which prompted him to leave and cancel the ride cos he was on white and going for a meeting.

How can a rider that’ll pay 7,300 for a single trip worth 2,200 will not enjoy their trip with quality car is wrong now.

I understand some of them might be living far but at least that car is their office how much is car wash and car perfume. Even dashboard cleaner is just 500-700naira.

Flood is not riders fault if you detect a flood area and you know your car can’t swim. Nobody force anybody that’s why there’s an option for cancellation.

But you see that above mentioning go to Osapa London this morning and find out

It's basically dirt, dirty body, clothes, car interior etc. Mix it with moisture, whether flood o, sweat etc that's a stink. cocktail

I quite agree to this. I only used myself as a case study since I don't sleep in the vehicle.

During my early days on e-hailing, I picked a lady going to the road by VGC. Meanwhile, she already spoke with someone on the phone who told her there was flood. I had to inform her I won't be driving into any flood if we come across any.
The flood was so much that I had to stop by the roundabout even though she insisted I should go further since other vehicles were driving through.

Next I got was my 1st 1 star in uber.

it was still this thread drivers where complaining that rider want them to be picking them up from their bedrooms, them see who dey go junction go wait for them, it becomes a problem too

what do bolt drivers really want from riders?

You want to start driving soon, so I'm telling you from experience now.

Beware of riders that put roadside or popular landmarks as their PU

Most of them put similar locations as destination

Most of them are unusually nice and friendly

Most of them do transfer and because they are nice and friendly you too will want to pay back in kind if alert doesn't drop on time.

That's how most riders scam scam drivers with fake transfer. There are some that have good intentions like you, but the ones with bad intentions outnumber the good.

I have peace of mind to an extent if I pick you from a place I can trace you to if something goes wrong. I hope you get my point now

Sorry i don’t do card trips
i don’t do transfer
i don’t do take me to ATM to withdraw

i pay cash, i do cash

if i have different stop i need to make, i discuss all my stops with driver before i even enter into the vehicle, from my first stop to my final destination

if i don’t know the exact area of my destination, i discuss with driver, and only one driver has ask me to change distinction on the app bcus he knows the location very well

all riders are not evil

and yes i am using the app the right way. bcus i make my pickup very easy and smooth for any driver picking me up

Peace.

if someone like you book a ride today as a rider, i sorry for the driver when go pick u up that day

I'm a driver so I know locations where driver won't complain if they come to pick me up, the day I requested from a street with bad roads, I called the driver to inform him we would meet at the bus stop incase he gets there before me then I started walking to the junction and at the same time I was monitoring the driver's movement on the app. I waved him down myself at the bus stop because I know how to use the app grin

at the bolded Much Blessings Sir

YeyeGbami:
When are we going to talk about drivers showing up with vehicles that will stink and sound like grinding machine? If no be shocks na one thing or the other. Or drivers asking for cash trips etc

Why blame rider for bad roads? If you no like the road, note it down and never go there again.

While we’re all hustling to make the money , lets not become beasts. The nation is hard everyone know but we still need to show empathy while doing doing our jobs.

Meeting your driver halfway is what i usually do cos am ready before i request and once i see say him don enter my street i don dey waka go meet am. Some of us are wired like that, i no even like make rider con dey call me say ehn am outside.

Some riders will even call you to explain easier routes to get to them. Asking people out of your vehicle should be the last resort, it shouldn’t be an habit.

men you guys are trying ohhh

one thing i have observed from driver post is, it is recommended that even when you want to cancel, you should drive to the pick up point and wait some minutes before you cancel

if you have 10 cancellations per day, doesn’t that cut into more fuel expenses for the driver?

deedee44:

If rider cancels, they will reimburse the driver after 30 days. If driver cancels then it's byebye to commission except you drive down to pickup location and cancel with the option "rider did not show"

We learn about the security challenges every day, that’s why as a rider i try to do things to make any driver riding me to be comfortable

Your Recommendation well received, as a rider we will keep doing better

From my experience using Uber this week, I think what Uber is lacking is drivers. Rides poured in back to back. Even with both apps on, Uber requests came in first.
But pickup distances no be here o. It's gotten much worse now. 10km pickups were sooo frequent, I just weak. It's a terrible shortage of drivers. But rides don't stop. I completed 10 today but must have ignored up to 20

My fear really is not the pick up time and distance, i know what i drive most times on indriver to pick a rider. Mostly what i fear is the destination. Nothing fear me pass unknown destination like free knacks laced with sweetie.

A quick update on my experience doing uberbolt so far

I got a Nigerian used Honda city 07 at a cheap price did the papers and servicing

Car-550k
Papers (c of o) -60k
Servicing and minor fixing -30k
Ac (condenser, drier, compressor, flush and workmanship) -46k
Painting /body work-67k

On Monday i Registered on bolt free, Registration on uber-3k

Started work on Tuesday day did Uber, came online but long distance pick up made like 10k gross from 8 to 3pm cos i had to rush back to do my other hustles.

On Wednesday (was not so good). It started great tho. I couldn't meet the welcome bonus on bolt( complete 5 trips and get 4k bonus). I made like 10k from 7 to 2pm den the nightmare.
I took a trip to unilag close to yaba i got seriously scratched on my newly painted car. I felt angry and decided to close. Heading home from Unilag to attend to personal stuffs. I mistakenly took one way and got caught. I paid 5k

Thursday i went to ikorodu online trip showed 8.5k rider paid 11k out of pity. i almost cried due to bad road then did some airport ofline.

Friday i didn't work cos i discovered i drive back empty from where a trip ends to my house when its becoming 3pm to attend to my other hustles.

On Saturday and Sunday i made like 35k net did like 16 back to back trips from 7 to 7pm (i began to wonder how Felicity takes more than 300trips in a month)

CONS: I noticed i have back pain into and at the end of the day after driving long hours, i hear some noise on the drivers side car legs when turning the steering or if i enter a bad road and i don't know where its from. I've asked two kazzeem they said its normal and is caused by the rain and water but they need to greese some places on the legs another kazeem said its the ball joint. At this point i dunno what to believe.

Veterans in the house especially people in the ant's league please advise me. What am i not doing right

to this, your eyes will adjust. had similar issues to the point that i almost got night vision glasses, funny right? however, that glare is something i believe a lot of drivers experience too so dont let it frezak you out, well except maybe you have eye problems, in that case your might need to minimise driving at night.

How is approach each time you call a driver for a PU?

Do you great or respond to greetings before asking?
Do you start yiur convo by saying "where are you"?

What's your profile name?
Do you hide number to call?
Are most of your trips fare estimate less than N1k or above ?
Your rating could also be a factor.

These May be some of the reasons drivers wouldn't want to pick u up.

Try using the chat channel to communicate with the driver though drivers like me sometimes don't really like this mood of communication because you don't expect me to be replying you while driving to you... So take a look at your riders app to see if the driver is moving towards your direction if after sending 2 messages and he didn't reply or read it then put a call through and try to be polite when he picks.
exactly if u are late for work or an important appointment nobody go tel u to call ur driver.
