Hurriedly carried 2 buckets of water I was fetching only to hear a sharp sound, my bone was shifted. I began to feel like my back was on serious fire, only to rush off to a traditional bone setter with my sister's help to get it fixed. Spent my last 10k then on it. Now I'm extra careful when trying to carry heaven things.

Since it's slow, leave it to be healing steadily, you cannot expect a fast result

They know nothing, yet they keep giving the gullible and badly educated Nigerians ; osteomyelitis, malunion, muscle wasting, and sometimes gangrene.

Same as traditional stroke folks!

Hospital is usually their last call after they are done destroying their body out of ignorance and amputation is what most of them end up getting.

Buy a scoliosis brace, exercise alone can't correct it especially if you ain't doing it right.

In my clinic I have seen plenty limbs disfigured by traditional bone setters but nigerians still prefer them, after the damage they will come back to the hospital

I have also seen many medical doctors cause more damages to their patients in the name of giving them medical treatment.

We have silly many medical doctors out there. In the same way, we have bad trado-medical doctors.

A medical doctor that has bn handling my friend's wife antenatal checks and treatment, noticed that the young lady has Pelvis bone issue which may make it hard for the lady to deliver by herself.
He kept telling the lady and the husband that everything was ok.
Until the day of delivery, he insisted that the should push out the baby.
Even seeing that the lady was getting tired and he insisted that she should try.
Not until my wife who was standing like a mother for the girl started shouting at the doctor that can't u see that this young girl is tired or do u want the baby to die in her womb.
My wife told the husband to sign fo CS.
The doctor invited my wife and the lady's husband and opened up that the lady has Pelvis issue.
My wife was so furious that he knew this, refused to let them know before hands and he still insisted that the lady should push the baby.

Now, after the CS, the baby came out, but he sucked and swallowed the fluid in his mother's womb.
Baby is now in another specialist hospital in another state while the mother is still in the hospital recuperating.

Meanwhile, this happens to be one of the best hospitals that has branches in many states.

So you can see one of those silly medical doctors here.

Treated all my bone related injuries in the hospital. There are good bone setters and there are quacks. If you are involved in any accident resulting in dislocation or fracture, visit a hospital to run an x-ray scan first.
Make u no use because hospital cost come get life threatening complications.
You go pay x10.

Those guys will make matters worse for you. Better you go to a good hospital or better still , go to igbogbi. Why subject yourself to unimaginable pain? Ehn why? Those guys will just be causing you unbearable pain in the name of massaging or arranging the broken bones.

I had colles fracture since 2011 and that hand still pains me till today. It didn't heal properly.

My experience with local bone setter was a sweet one... I got into the local clinic with a badly fractured fibula...
Before my admission, the guy made consultations, then I got admitted..

He requested for a local cock and broke the leg exactly where I broke mine. Then the treatment started.. I spent 36 days on the bed... Then I was lifted off and given 2 crutches.. After 2wks he collected one of the crushes leaving me with one. After another 2 weeks he replaced my crutch with walking stick and made me to walk about the premises from time to time... In all I spent 63 days in the clinic. Till today if I don't tell you you won't know.... But my paleh spend money.... This was in 1996.. The place is 'ago egun in abeokuta'

No one should be allowed to reset/reduce or fix fractures except the person has undergone trainings either as an orthopaedic doctor or a well trained medic in such area.

Like you mentioned about the man whose shoulder was being fixed, I cringed reading that. How would a traditional bone setter tell a posterior dislocation from an anterior one. I actually saw a doctor struggling to fix one yesterday. He got help from an older colleague.

A professional bone setter need to see what’s he is setting/fixing/reducing. He needs X-ray to be able to do that. You can imagine the number of simple fractures that these people have made worse. The result is permanent bone malalignment of the individual who sustained this injury with lifelong disfigurement.

Traditional bone setter massaged my dislocated elbow for about a year.. some of them no sabi anything..

I don't know who told them that forcefully bending and straightening a dislocated elbow will correct it?

Imagine going through pains from two different bone setters in a period of 2 years and still ending up in the theater coming out with scars and no improvement??

Thank God say life na once I can't pass through this shit again..

That’s child abuse. You inherited nothing. If your kids are injured, fractured or dislocated limbs….take them to orthopaedic hospitals.

Hospitals aren't the best either . I know a man who went to one of the best hospital in the Eastern part, he was left with metal for long. After all the procedures, baba leg short, he can't even walk well... I also know a woman who has been through hell for over a year plus now.. she's yet to remove the planted metals in her body..

Fractured my right elbow when I was 8..
Was taken to a pharmacy by an aunt without my parents knowledge and given first aid, thinking it was a minor injury.
After a couple of days my arm was as fat as a mango tree trunk, parents came back from a trip and tok me to a traditional bone setter, he worked on my hand for some week but there was not an excellent result.

Family and friends advised my parents to take me somewhere else. In 2years I was taken to 5 different places and everytime we got to a new place the elbow is rebroken by the traditional bonesetter and the job of setting the bone starts afresh.. For 5 times..
Was in pain all those years till we gave up and allowed the last person do the final work.

Ironically till now you would still notice I have a fractured elbow.. Very very Noticeable.

They all did a poor work on me..

Parents would have taken me to Igbobi but we were told chilling tales of how they handle people, my mom refused.. Lol.

Only an orthopaedic doctor has the training and expertise to deal with your injured hand and any orthopaedic that starts to treat your hand without an X-ray should be in an underground prison with his medical certificate withdrawn.
You can’t treat what you can’t see. You could’ve fractured your scaphoid plus other carpal bones, it could be your metacarpals or your phalanges (fingers) or even lower end of your forearm(distal radius and ulna).

You need X-ray first then an orthopaedic surgeon.

Over the years, mostly in my early teens, I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with 4 dislocations, thanks to football, basketball and some rough play in school. I did my left elbow twice and suffered one dislocation on both wrist. Reflecting on the pains I had gone through on each of those challenging periods, I frankly would not wish it on my worst enemy. I often hear people complain about dental pain, I can testify that dental pain and dislocation no be mate.

I was once on the waiting cue at the bone setters place, a grown man, probably in his 50s was having his shoulder fixed, he cried and screamed so hard that he poo pooed on himself. I practically took to my heels when it got to my turn grin grin

I pray for total restoration for everyone going through this ordeal currently. The Lord is your strength.

Share your experience dealing with a dislocate limb

Omg I dislocated my shoulder joint this morning while doing a dumbbell workout. Though it corrected almost immediately, I'm still in severe pain . I've never hurt like this since I was born not even when Scorpion bit me thrice. Please what can I do I need help please

If I mention mine as well, you’ll be shocked.

First, are an orthopaedic doctor? Are you trained in the medical field and part of an orthopaedic team?? If your answer is no, then you shouldn’t be treating anyone with broken bone.
If you attempt what you are doing now in a sane environment, you’ll be in a big trouble.

You can live without a fibula. TBS did nothing special, rather wasted your 63 productive days.
