How many people in Nigeria make 41 million in a year? Or you think the work from home we are talking about here is to be selling clothes and shoes on WhatsApp? Programmers are among the top income earners in the country, the only people that even come close are politicians and pastors, and you know why.

I have a friend that works remotely with a company in Abuja and he earns 250k monthly. There's another that gets at least 150k monthly from content writing. How much some doctors dey even make in a month sef? People wey dem even dey owe salary.

Some programmers earn more than 1000 USD monthly, and many of them are on this nairaland or na because say dem no dey talk?

You want to compare a newly employed programmer with big shots in top companies? just listen to yourself. Compare the so called big shots with their mates in Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and other tech companies. Imagine comparing tech companies with the likes of dangote, what a joke.

Ps: show me one of the big shots that is legitimately earning 51million naira in this country. And you keep yapping about a statistics you have seen, please bring it let me see as well

I couldn't agree more. It's one thing to have a skill, it's another thing to sell your services and make money.

Selling is a skill. When you discover your ideal client - the person who needs your services, all you need to make money is to market your skill.

If you're good at what you do, please learn how to market yourself to your prospects.

All you need to live big is just two or three clients. Imagine if each client generates more than $500 a month.

The good part is once it starts rolling in, you can only go higher!

1) Car dealers: These ones would drive different cars they want to sell and won’t let you hear word of how they have OWNED a million cars. Majority are very fake.

2) Contractors: What exactly are you contracting? Everyday it is stories and mood swings. They haven’t signed his proposal, blablabla. When money comes, they will just spend it voom. Two weeks later, back to square one.

3) Any illegal job, including the ones that have been normalized (e.g) yahoo boys.

4) Politicians and pastors.

I will pick Baba Saliu the Kazeem (roadside mechanic) or Chukwuma the okporoko seller before the aforementioned men. Not like it matters, but you asked.

We should agree same law doesn't guide men/women in this nation.

For most ladies; passion, desire, strong will e.t.c usually pushes them into a particular job except it got so desperate where no one is particularly responsible for their bills.

For Men, it isn't same...
Nigeria men are one of the most judged from what I know and read about.
A lot of pressure on them to succeed, to pay bills, to be responsible for siblings and finally to own a family.
Desperation pushes so many men into what they do these days.

Agreed, we all have a particular career we wouldn't want to see our spouses in but you need to be in a man's shoes to feel that exactly.

I hated Police so much but at a period in my life when I got desperate, I wanted to try it out because of the pressure and need to pay bills.

But the way the O. P actually placed it made that defence a little poor.
