Hi @Olab92,

Have your dependants now gotten theirs? How long did it take?

Olab92:

I can’t even drop my phone for a minute, I’m hopeful sha. Thanks for your reply.

Do they call dependents for interview after decision has been made for main applicant?

phadriz:
Good Morning all,
I found a course in Sheffield Hallam University MSc. Financial Management (Fast track) is for those with CIMA (UK) qualification, which I have but my concern is the course is 8 months. Can I take my dependents to UK on a 8 months course?

According to UKVI rules, Your family members can only come to the UK if:

• You hold (or are applying for) a Tier 4 (General) visa in order to study a course at Masters level or above for 9 months or more.

• You are a new government-sponsored student who holds (or is applying for) a Tier 4 (General) visa and you are coming to the UK to follow a course of more than six months (https://www.southampton.ac.uk/studentservices/visa-and-immigration/faqs/faq-family-dependants.page)

Therefore, if your are self-funding, you will not be able to bring your dependants to the UK nor qualify for post study visa.

SOLUTION

Look for another MSc course that is minimum of 9 months to bring your dependant to the UK.

However, if actually, your aim is to have a UK MSc then choose the cheapest and easiest route by applying MSc Accounting and Finance at University of Northampton (https://www.northampton.ac.uk/courses/accounting-and-finance-top-up-msc/) It only costs £2,220. The programme is designed for AIA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAP holders and there is only one module for the programme. Note that it is a distance learning programme so you and your dependents are ineligible to come to the UK

Congratulations on your sister's offer.
I also have an offer with SHUbfor January.
I have paid my deposit and I await the school to schedule me for precas interview, from information that I gathered, the interview emails will be sent starting from next week.

Kindly go ahead and pay the deposit and use banks like UBA, Keystone or Titan bank that are fast with form A payment.

SHU doesn't require POF before issuing CAS

And yes, the interview will be via Skype.

Good luck

Hi everyone, @Kenny4smart @emmynent @nattty @DeehoneyHomes @Gtessy

My sister is off to Sheffield Hallam University this January. She has been issued an unconditional offer.

I would like to know how long it takes for the pre-CAS interview if she pays her deposit by Friday? Will she be required to submit her 28-days bank statement before she would be allowed to do the interview or before CAS is issued?

I have sent an email to the University about this but we haven't heard a response.

How is the pre-CAS interview like in terms of Duration? I reckon it will be via Skype?

Thank you in advance for your response

I don't think anyone has received CAS for SHU for January intake, I may be wrong though.

As for your other question, there are lots of students jobs over there.
Type in students jobs in Sheffield in Google and see for yourself.

Good day everyone, please i am abit new here so kindly bear with me. I did my masters in UK ( Business Analysis) in 2011 and i intend to proceed for an MBA now in 2022 but i heard that Uk has a rule that if you have done a masters before you cant progress with a new masters unless there is a clear career progression. I should also mention that I currently have my business that i have been running for over 6 years and its quite successful so i actually think i need this MBA to progress in my business.

My question is, 1, is it possible to do an MBA 10 years after concluding a masters in the uk. Does this show career progression?
2. Can i proceed with the application with the hope of going with my family (5).

Thank you

Yes you can. You should not have a problem with applying for a second degree. I have 2 masters degree from the UK and I know a couple of my mates back then who finished from Coventry University and went ahead to do MBA at another University.

You will need to have a good personal statement though and should be able to convince the admissions team that doing this MBA degree will help impact you with the knowledge to grow your business or expand your business into other countries.

Good luck!

I am not wrong and please don't say what you have no idea about. I am presently doing a 2nd MSc

Patnuel2015:
You are wrong. You can't do a second master in the UK. It doesn't show academic progression. Doing that is an attend to swindle the system. However, in his case I think he could be able to do MBA since the degree is an entirely different kind of degree. Msc to Msc is equal to NO. Mcs to MBA you can try. Though I will advise you to call the school you want to apply to, they will give you first hand information you need. Good luck.

This is wrong. You can do a MSc to MSc degree in as much as the second MSc degree is a deeper specialization or will help you achieve career progression.

Ikeja Walk In is a terrible situation.
I was there on Monday night and stayed up till morning. When they brought out the list around 2am. It was already numbered till 107. I was curious and asked why is the number starting from 107 and not 1. They said they've been writing the list from last week and that's how they've been piling it up.
When it was dawn, the number have risen to 300 and still counting. The worst part is that they started calling those with appointment in by 8am and I waited till 12noon before leaving angrily. If as at 12pm they're yet to answer Walk In, when will it get to my turn 110.
I've decided to wait for my appointment date to avoid unnecessary camping at TLS office.
NB: Those that were around on Monday said they only answered 7 Walk In

It’s actually 9months not 12 months
(Your partner and children (‘dependants’) may be able to apply to come to the UK or stay longer in the UK.

You must be one of the following:

a full-time student on a postgraduate level course (RQF level 7 or above) that lasts 9 months or longer
a new government-sponsored student on a course that lasts longer than 6 months
a Doctorate Extension Scheme student)

Response is appreciated.

Economy is 23kg
36kg is extra luggage which you will pay for
each bag for economy should not exceed 23kg

Business class is 32kg.
