Those ones are already suffering... They have been suffering even long before the Dollar over-powered the Naira to this point.

It beats my mind how an average Nigerian has remained sane under this horrendously clueless leadership for 6 years... More befuddling is how such level of failure could have been given a 2nd term in office without the nation going up in flames of widespread protest!

Boss, forget abeg... Nigerians are still enjoying Buhari!!! When they are truly tired (maybe when hunger, real hunger, starts dropping them like flies), then will they wake up and realize that Buhari is not actually a dictator!!! tongue

Point of correction

Let all the naive people supporting the federal government keep deluding themselves. I don't get why certain people insist on taking sides with a government that's hell bent on mortgaging the future of the coming generation.

All the loans been taken must be paid, and with interest keep compounding, Nigeria and Nigerians will be paying for these loans for a long period of time.
Perhaps those supporting the government think it doesn't affect them since they are not paying directly. What they fail to realize is there's going to be continued pressure on Nigeria to offset the loans and service it. This pressure will effectively result in an increase in taxes and cancellation of subsidy on any commodity. In coming years, ordinary citizens will pay more for electricity, more for fuel, more for food, more for water, more more more.

As if that's not enough, The government will not be able to develop any reasonable infrastructure because it's busy servicing loans.

Nigeria is heading to a dark place, and some folks are blinded by the little crumbs they get for supporting the elite.

Same elite who during their youth, lived in a better country. They had free education, food was cheap, you could leave your door open without fear of thieves or kidnappers, you could go on hiking or hunting in the bush without fear of bandits. There were jobs guaranteed after graduating. They lived in a better country. They could hold important political positions at a very young age, and they didn't need to know anybody for that. Today same elite have sabotaged the country and sold out the future of the youth.

Still young people come online to appluade and sing their praise because they belong to the same ethnic, or religious group; or because they get crumbs from the corruption. It's a big shame.
My heart bleeds for Nigeria because the country has long been raped and plundered by wicked men.
It's a horror story
Bros, you said it all.
Do you know when I entered UI, with 50kobo, I would buy in teddar hall bursery, 1 moimoi, 1 coke and a loaf of bread. That was our staple food.
Few years later in the same UI, I storied my then gf, and got $100 (she had some), I quickly left her, ran to Sabo and changed it for ₦5k to go chase some other girl grin
Fuel was 60kobo per liter and when Abacha came to power and changed it to 3.25 or so, the whole country went up in riots.
Most of these people as you said don't know who bad things have become right now and getting worse.

Your state/region has individuals blessed with commonsense, foresight, and true leadership...

Sadly, the set of Nigerians with the above virtues is less than a tenth of the actual voting population. So, hope is far from the horizon!!!

I was considering exchanging my dollars tomorrow. Seems I'll have to wait till naira equals #1000.

Going by the current pace, Buhari will finally equal $1 to #1...

That was his vision, and we supported him. What do you expect from a man that never saw the four walls of school?

Let's give him two months, then we exchange! I only pity those who earn in Naira.

We'll survive...

Allow moderate yahoo boys to pump in money to your economy.

President Muhammadu Buhari kicked against the existence of these acts calling the Yahoo boys miscreant.

You use Efcc to be chasing them you think borrowing will save the economy.

These yahoo boys are now building the economy of UAE, Cyprus, Malaysia, Turkey, and Qatar.

It is the Nigerian leadership that is at a loss.

If drastic economic measure that will shore up investment in Nigeria is not put in place the American Dollars will continue to rise against the Nigeria naira with the federal government less capable to stop the free fall of the Nigerian naira.

Nigeria is getting to a situation where 1000 Nigeria naira will soon be exchange for $1

Not to talk of GBP of Britain and Euro for the European union

NORTHERNERs knows nothing about the economy.

Na scatter scatter them Sabi.

Allow the youth to bring in dirty money into the economy.

At least for some few years then watch the difference in terms of economic growth.

Classroom economic theory can not save Nigeria.

Many of Nigeria yahoo boys have relocated to ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania because of the senseless federal government harrasement using the security agency.

How your economy no go fall?

Ghana 's economy is far better than that of Nigeria because they open up their economy.

Twitter and crypto currency that could bring in foreign exchange into Nigeria remain banned by President Buhari ' authocratic government.

So $100 is now 57500 Naira..

This will only Favour those who earns in dollars as what they are earning will be proportional to what they spending..

But you see salary earners? Dem go dey jonze presently..
I don't think so except they don't go to the same market. Those sending money home from overseas for building or any other form of investment back home go hear am pass. Do you know the cost of building materials now or would they also send all the building materials home without clearing them at port? My cousin sending 300 usd home monthly for upkeep is complaining because what his family used to buy for 300usd can't be bought by 400usd anymore. Except his family wouldn't eat again or Children wouldn't go to school would he not increase or double that money. Don't forget that wages aren't increasing at his place of work in Yankee...same every every week.

Banning AbokiFX puts more pressure on the naira due to the information asymmetry this creates. Markets consider such controls anathema to transparent price discovery.

Counter productive. Our leaders have run out of ideas.

If you have information please share it. I don't understand why time would fail you to provide some insight. CBN has been clutching at straws desperately lately to even understand the problem. From the naira for dollar incentive, now this. Didn't they know about Abokifx all these years? Or they simply didn't know about the activities of BDCs? I'm desperate to hear what you have to say about these very deep things that were going on. This same CBN has been reported to be printing naira. What was the expected consequence? Please tell us more.
