well they have to earn their pay. they generally didn't play badly, it was a leggy start predictably due to rustiness and they conceded in the opening minutes.
the game time is good for a couple of them, especially Telles, DVB and Martial.
Shame about Martial though, I think he's done with this club.

We haven’t even completed September yet and Ole has lost the only competition that could have allowed him to give plenty of minutes to fringe players.

There’s going to be plenty of dissatisfaction in the squad going forward. Solskjaer is just bad luck. Everything he touches turns to shit.

Any positive from the loss? yes, we can focus on trophies that matter by not playing useless Carabao cup games, but it is a sign of zero trophy this season. Even if they tell us to play fewer games per competition (vs other EPL clubs), we still won’t win a spoon.

the movements from Martial in behind certainly didn't help.
I saw Sancho, VDB and Greenwood attack spaces behind occasionally.
with Cavani instead of Martial there, we'd have the goals.
at least we can see those with a good shot at the starting eleven.

We are not, and wouldnt be the 1st team to rotate players for Carabao cup.

We played at home vs Westham (not Mancity or liverpool ffs) and there was quite a number of decent players in the team squad.
