A Lieutenant is an officer. You must be a graduate to become an officer. A Lieutenant is the rank before Captain.
The high handedness of officers especially female officers is too much. Most female officers want to show dominance especially to their fellow women.
She should be punished as a precaution to others. Thank God for Social Media. Before she go hang Captain with this negative publicity eh... E fit take her double the normal time frame.

Not all officers are graduates or degree holders. Ever heard of Branch or Quarter master commission? This is a commission given to SNCOs ( senior non commissioned officers) like MWO or WO2 with proven leadership qualities. But most don't go beyond the rank of Major or it's equivalent. In fact, up till about the early 2000s one can be commissioned with just 5 credit passes in SSCE ( I.e. SSC, short service commission) but was subsequently reviewed to BSC or HND.

Soldiers weren't trained for civilian activities, using them constantly for civilian opreations is just wrong... She's a combatant, trained to kill and torture, her temperament is not meant for slayqueen civilian corper

The Female lieutenant was also dehumanised and beaten from day one she joined the service

To forestall future occurrence similar to this, Military should henceforth not be deployed to civilian training camp like NYSC, Military should not be used during protest, rally, or riots

.

Don't they have military in other western countries? Is that how they treat their citizens?

That's why I said fun to watch from a distance.

So what happened to the guy/solider and the guys in the camp generally afterwards?

For me, if there is no injury, threat to life or repeat occurrence, the female corper should just swallow her ego, suck it up and move on.

That's one of the experiences during NYSC undecided

Ten years later while gisting with your friends or recounting the tales of your NYSC:

'I remember when that idiot pour dirty water for my body. I stand up like G, dust myself enter room' bla bla bla.

Maybe it is the boarder in me (boarding student in secondary school) that doesn't see the need to nitpick and whine about every incident. undecided

Maybe the animal in you can't see why this is messed up.

Military personnel abroad don't do this, they face their work, but Nigerians still want to do more than colonial masters. undecided

When Nigerians stop acting like bullies at every chance we will stop calling abroad "saner climes".

Woman-on-Woman molestation. The Future is truly female shocked
Not just the woman on woman but the fact that they are both Igbos outside of their enclave. Years back, I recall bumping into an educated soldier. Not sure I recall his rank but he was definitely not a rookie. The moment he realised I am Urhobo, we stood on that spot with my NYSC uniform and gisted because he is one as well. We found ourselves in the East at the time and for the first time, I wasn't jittery talking to a high ranking military person. We spent nearly 30 minutes catching up on nothing.

Sadly in the military, there's no such thing as age differences the only respect you earn is with ur Rank and as a Lieutenant she is tho small n young but can still order a 50yrs old warrant officer to swim in a mud and he has no choice but to do it. What the Lieutenant did to the corper is one of the most slightest punishment anyone can do in the Barracks so expect her to be released in few minutes time
,
Guy u no know wetin u de yarn abeg, a blinking Lt order a Warrant officer to swim in mud! May be it can happen to a Private or L/CPL but never a Warrant officer, to attain the rank of WO u must have put in not less than 20 years in service, na I'm one blinking Lt, that just passed out from NDA or Colito wey just hang Lt go kon the throw smoke for a WO! At worst he can order him to report at the Mess, remove belt and shoes, then just de high inside de mess. Some Captains de even fear to talk to some Warrant Officers, especially if he's an appointment holder like Unit RSM or even chief clerk. In most instances, the WO even trained the Lt while at the academy as a blinking cadet, so that fear still de. A Warrant officer is like a general among the Non commissioned officers and wields a reasonable amount of respect and influence, so as an officer before u fit get liver talk down on him u need check urself well.

Oh please!

Male officers in camps don't terrorize and intimidate corpers?

I remember during our time that they belt us out of our dorms by 4:30am for morning parade.

Or the male soldiers that harass civilians at barracks and on the road are also female or also have inferiority complex?

It is hard to blame you when your female counterparts also genderize everything. undecided
I guess you've had little or no encounter with female officers, I lived with some of them during my high school days, and I know how they react quickly to things that are meant to be overlooked. No doubt their male counterparts are wicked but plz don't offend a female officer, if she reason your matter e don finish be dat. They usually think you want to disrespect them intentionally.

weytin u dey try talk for here sef say some captains dey fear to talk to some WO. simply put they just give em that respect abit cuz of age n position which is most times due to connection and I'll say it again a Lieutenant can still punish a warrant officer if need be and he has no choice but to obey, after that hin fit use jazz treat ur fvck up but say hin no go obey or say Lieutenant no fit, that's a big Lie.

, you can become an officer without a degree if you're enlisted and selected for branch commission/ quartermaster, but it's very rare and not frequently done, I've seen instances where the RSM ( regimental Sergeant Major) of NDA a master warrant officer (MWO) was commissioned a Captain and retired after a few years, and yes he wasn't a degree holder.

Nobody talked about platoon of soldiers. We see their soldiers relate with people in everyday situation and they don't maltreat their citizens infact, they go extra length in respecting and protection the citizen.

The problem is in the Nigeria soldiers. The have attitudinal problem.

The NYSC remains a military product.

If we hope to keep it running, we need to demilitarize it, as well as remind personnel of our Armed Forces that the era of military rule is long gone.

In a democracy, the people are the authority.

An MWO can be commissioned to become an officer. Most times it is 1 in like a thousand sef. The closest to that is becoming an AWO. So, a SNCO like an MWO can be commissioned.
Now, in the context of this thread, you cannot become a commissioned officer without being a degree holder.

The ignorance in Nigeria is way too much. Imagine the Corp member kneeling down. When I served I can't even imagine kneeling down for an officer who isn't above me, according to rank and education qualification.

What that lieutenant did is uncalled for. She should be punished and honestly Corp members need to be given proper orientation about who they are and what they're not suppose to take.

This matter tire me and at the same time shame me.

As a corp member, them never born these soldier people to try nonsense for my side.
