It is possible. Did most of mine myself. Got a very good electrician to help with the heavy lifting and physically tasking parts like climbing roofs grin

Thanks

passion8,
welcome on board and glad you finally made the decision to take the plunge into renewables.
i assure you, its a life changing step you're about to take for which you will be forever grateful.
yes, absolutely. you can install your solar system by yourself and this is what the thread is all
about. almost everyone here is a do-it-yourself solar enthusiast apart from a few marketers just
here to make a few bucks who don't contribute anything to trending topics.
as for the cost of a complete setup, that would depend on what load you want to power. you
can forget about the estimated 1.8kva output and just list what loads you want to run based on
their wattage and other good members in the house will weigh in and offer suggestions how
you can go about it.

Oga GeorgeD1, I salute you sir. I'm encouraged by the way you made it clear on this post.
Concerning the load I wish to power with the solar, it's a 3bedroom flat. I just wanted to power the lights which are all energy saving including hidden tape lights in the P.O.P ceiling plus electronics i.e tv and two standing fans. That's all.

Does the adaptor have a display to indicate voltage? If yes then you can but not for long. You need to stop charging once charge voltage is approaching 14v

Actually my apologies I just saw that it's an adaptor you said and not a 15v charger. Sorry none can work.

1. Has anyone here ever used 150w all in one solar street light with 4G camera?

2. Does it come with it own panel?

3. Can it brightness be sustained from 7pm to 6am?

4. How does it perform on raining season?

5. How good is the inbuilt Camera?

There are some videos like the one attached on how you can reduce the voltage. I have not tried charging with a laptop adapter before so can't provide a definite advice on it. Others may have experience

Yes oo,

That's why you keep them away from your sensitive equipments

If to make things more clear,

1. If fans are OX consider changing them to DC ones

2. Those tape LED sometimes are power guzzlers once seen one used for signage of just three LED use up to 12W and they were daisy chained ... Know the power of your tape light

3. Your TV wattage

4. Total number of lights and how many you want on at a given time

5. CFL i.e. energy savers are different from LED bulbs, kindly note

With the above, I am sure many others will give you their own inputs too.

Never install it before, but I have seen it used and pics sent to me.

2. Does it come with it own panel? YES, just above it

3. Can it brightness be sustained from 7pm to 6am?

4. How does it perform on raining season? Like every other solar related products, raining season will affect it too

5. How good is the inbuilt Camera? 1080p I believe from what I saw,

Though number 3 question wasn't answered but if I may deduce from what you've said, it's not the best method.

A brother wanted it. I'll rather advice him to install a normal CCTV camera system and connect it directly to his solar system.

He may still install normal solar street light, if he wishes.
Thanks for your contribution

Yes oo,

That's why you keep them away from your sensitive equipments

But Use with the following conviniently.
It powers most regular appliances
E.g
Tv ( not smart)
Bulbs (regular Led etc)
Sound system
Fan ( rechargeable)
Phone charger

Avoid
Regular fan (coil)
Bulbs ( florescent)- works but hum a little.
Blenders
Microwave
Fridge/freezers

Most sensitive appliances are power consuming

N.B:Based on stand alone soure inverter without charger for years without issues
Idle power consumption less than 1W
Power factor 0.7w

You might consider a Raspberry Pi and install the Victron Venus OS on it. That should give you all the functionality at a fraction of the cost.

With a Pi you also get ease of integration with your home automation.

Be ready to get hands on to get all to work seamlessly.

I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, I already have home assistant running on a PI, the issue I have is how to get into the Multiplus. Had to run HAOS because it's a Pi3 I have and a supervised install kept freezing. I have another Pi I want to use as a media server so I would be loathe to convert it to an EMS just because of Victron.

Saipro:

And here's the DIY option. Cheapest and most fun. Hardest to implement but way more flexible. Be the lord of your own setup. You would still need Victron USB cables (the DIY cables are often unreliable).
can you share a link? my issue is the range of cables, it seems
1. For the CC I need a normal cable, (seen somewhere I can use a cable and ESP chip to hack serial to wifi)
2. For the BMV 712 I would need another cable as well,
3. For the multiplus it seems I need to choose between a different type of cable from 1 and 2 and another type of Bluetooth dongle,

mennnn victron will find it difficult to scale at this rate, they seem to enjoy making things complicated

What's the performance of the Pure Sine model like?

Is the 4000w tag real? Can the surge carry 1hp Sumo pump?

I have one that looks like that in my cart on AE but fear de do me to buy
