I keep writing it here and those who hate the truth keep calling me names. The people of the east are no longer interested in the affairs of this nation due to obvious political reasons. The political gimmicks of the present administration fuels their seeming dissatisfaction with the Nigerian state. And we have lost them to mere polymic speech by Kanu. Trying to coerce them to love Nigeria will yield no good result as it is another sign of intimidation. If we all really need them, as I know we do, let's go back to the drawing board and see where we got it wrong, correct it and do all we can to re-integrate them into the Nigerian state. And to be honest, no other tribe can stand the scorn they face in Nigeria since the end of the war till date for no just reasons without a revolt. We've called them names unjustly; we hate them for no reason; what a person from another tribe does and gets overlooked is exaggerated and termed crime if done by an easterner; we openly brag they can't become a president in a country they are part of; a none Nigeria on this forum will be forced to believe Goodluck Jonathan is an Igbo man the way the Igbos support him in and out of office; they trade and live with us in our towns, pay rents, marry our sisters and respect our culture, but we look for slightest opportunity to tell them how homeless scavengers are better than them; they vote and support every other tribe in election openly but none supports them. My history book told me the civil war ended in no victory and vanquish slogan but we militize the zone as a conquered territory. And the list is endless. Why I believe we should live together as one nation, I won't support an unfair nation. The hate is much.
Again, I have not seen where barrels of gun subdued an ideology. This post stated that even the governor stayed away from the scheduled programme. He was among the governors that sat down and proscribed the IPOB for protesting bad governance and demanding a different state. Now, the group have won the sympathy of the masses largely due to bad governance at all levels and deteriorating economy. He just lost his state to the group, even with the security architecture by his side. It's even more worrisome that instead of talking of dialogue, the president, earlier today in his address, threaten to deal with perceived enemy from the east. No trial has been conducted by a competent court of law before such utterances were made and a possible political intimidation may begin any moment from now. The attendant consequence is that the group may use the government's move to score another cheap point and have more sympathizers even among their political elites who have dissented the opinion of the group to secede. Our comments here as well on the agitation do not show that we are one nation. We mock, but never suggest solutions. We tend to forget easily that no tribe in Nigeria today have not lost a soldier to terrorism in the northeast. Everything shouldn't be by force or display of hatred and dominance. The silent strategy adopted by IPOB since being proscribed is more potent than their usual street protest, if we tell ourselves the truth. Let the government dialogue now. Majority of the Igbos here in Benin City selling clothes are my friends and I know they are easy to please as humans. Let's avoid creating more dissension to Nigeria through our actions.
may we have more millions of ur type in d world and may u never lack. God bless u, brother

[s]Na only ibo people dey Nigeria or must you take your frustration out on your own people, slaughter them like goat, burn down their means of livelihood, behead them for juju.

Should the other tribs in Nigeria start killing their own people because things are hard in Nigeria?

You terrorists need to stop hiding under hardship, you are just natural-born killers, you are bloodthirsty and barbaric killers with zero value for life.

You see people walking down the street, you behead then, you see police, you behead them, you see little girls, you kidnap and behead them for juju, you see school children going to take waec exam, you chase them away and burn their bicycles and kill the reverend trying to save them, you see Dr in a car with police, you shoot and blow his face-off, you see people going to look for their daily bread, you tell them to stay home or slaughter them, you throw their business and livelihood inside gutter....

When we say stop killing yourselves, you come back with pictures of dead people in the North and say what about the killings in the North as if you must kill 10 igbo people for every 1 dead Hausa Fulani in the north, it makes no sense, you people just love and enjoy killing your own igbo people.

SE is really fucckued up..[/s]
Every time I come across your comment here on nairaland, this Fela's song mysteriously starts playing in my head.
The title of the song is "Overtake Don Overtake Overtake", and the main part is this:

Na so our lives for Africa dey roll, Since them say we get independence:-
Soldier go, soldier come!
Soldier come, soldier go!

The civilian government wey them dey, Na soldier dey protect them:-
Soldier go, soldier come!
Soldier come, soldier go!

When our lives roll small, E go go knock head for wall! :-
Soldier go, soldier come!
Soldier come, soldier go!

When our lives roll small, E go go knock head for tree!! :-
Soldier go, soldier come!
Soldier come, soldier go!

When our lives roll small, E go go knock head for stone!!! :-
Soldier go, soldier come!
Soldier come, soldier go!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Abeg no go knock head for stone o! cheesy

You protest by slaughtering your own people, shed your own blood, terrorize the same people you keep lying to that you are protecting.

The saddest, sociopathic, maniacal and sadistic thing lunatics do is claim they protecting while committing the most barbaric and horrific atrocities against the people.

SE in Nigeria is the only place on the surface of the earth where protesting means your own people's blood must flow like goat sacrifice..

Evil maniacs and sinful lunatics, you are all out of touch with human realities.

IPOB has overrun the people's will, they have overtaken institutions and now, they have the government in subjection.

This is quite unsettling for a sovereign nation.
This government allowed this state of affairs by its failures.
We have called on them since inception to dialogue towards restructuring, warning that the window of negotiations will not remain open forever.

Did they take heed?... No.
Rather typical of poor quality governance they decided the road of heavy handedness instead of de-esca;lation, negotiations towards peace and solidarity, lumping agitators for freedom with those who seek religious fiefdoms or those in it for financial gains.

If this is not poor judgement amongst leadership, then what is. A government that simply does not understand the country, its peoples, their relationships and how democracy can work to unify and strengthen nations towards development and prosperity.

Sadly for your meaningless and meandering essay, you have not seen where barrels of gun subdued an ideology, but you work around with guns to terrorize, your own people, to murder and slaughter them every day, to intimidate and make them comply with your authoritarian and brutal stay at home order when they display, you easily end their life and existence with your gun, you beat your mothers and trash their daily means of livelihood just because they have to feed their families, you burn down your own towns and villages, you burn businesses and kill mercilessly at will with your guns.

The question now is, what ideology are you trying to change with your guns? Yours or your own people's ideology since so far, they are the daily innocent victims of your guns, barbarity, lunacy, evil and merciless terrorist ways.

You typed this insane and unintelligent rubbish just to justify what is actually unjustifiable unless you are trying to convince the world that you must keep slaughtering your own igbo people until you get your way which makes no dam sense.

Are your own dead people the bargaining chips, hostage, or disposable rags?

Your own warped mentality is even a dangerous threat to whatever society you long for.

Sad.........
You don't have a solution..
You keep blaming and whining..

I'm more worried that this menace has finally found its way to our backyard.

If northerners are less concerned bout their safety, I am very much concerned about mine.
I do not and will never support a group that uses chaos against her own people as her means of achieving a "greater" good.
