Afromentalist:haba bros.... Na only sec dey get licence? Cbn no dey get ni? Ayam not understanding ke? .. Though I'm braced up for this kind if question... And assumption.... But we gather dey.... To carry on with any form Of investment, investment safety is paramount... You are either licensed by bodies to do that as a brokerage firm... Though, I've done due diligence regarding that... Cbn shut out risevest, trove and bamboo some weeks back(though still carrying out operations)... To tell you things must be done appropriately... Who am I to promote branch?at least their rates is higher than the S&P 500 of our dear country.... |

omotola90:There is a difference between a CBN licence and a Sec one. They are not one and the same thing. You can be authorized by CBN to give out loans, that does not mean you have permission to take be an investment platform. Just like there are different driving licences epending on the type of automobile you want to drive. I am not in Nigeria, but from what I know it is the SEC that licenses investment platforms, and as long as that your branch wants to collect capital for a fixed income, the proper license should be that of SEC. 1 Like |

Afromentalist:bros...scan through the shot far above... It reads cbn licenced finance companies as at June 30th 2021.... If they can't offer investment opportunities won't cbn probe them? There are about 50 cbn licenced finance companies not micro finance banks... Cbn will probe them now if their investment isn't credible... I know it will still come to my branch or whatever.... But I'm braced up for that |

akinola98:App on playstore. I have been using them for almost a year. Very smooth experience and they dont even make noise. The only down side for me is that I can only send maximum of 100k at a time. I once send 3m to them, they returned it back to my account immediately. |

emmanuelewumi:Yes, They actually do need SEC license but that does not mean they are out to defraud investors though. They are far from being a ponzi scheme. ^^^ That's my opinion from my experience with them sha. 1 Like |

OgogoroFreak: I know, but they don't have NDIC coverage. Finance houses give out loans at between 36% to 50%, they can decide to offer people 20% for them to make use of such funds. 2 Likes |

We currently have about 70 Finance houses in Nigeria, we used to have almost 4000 in the late 80s unfortunately they are all dead. I prefer using Orange One Finance a subsidiary of Investment One Financial Services, they give loans of between 500k to N15 million to individuals and small businesses 3 Likes 1 Share |

emmanuelewumi:oga Emmanuel, good evening bro,I will still look into the question you threw at me this afternoon... Though I was @ work then.. Now back to NDIC coverage, piggyvest is neither insured by sec or cbn but are NDIC insured. Yet folks out there are with them... With all due respect to the platform, I respect their credibility.... I know folks who are into piggy well and the save enormously there.... N. B I respect this mighty thread and folks out there... The vgifs, sfs fund, zimvest, fbn quest etc(I'm with vgif) emmasoft came through are well respected... All I'm trying to point out is whatever one does or put hard earned money into, due diligence and safety of funds is Germain |

omotola90: No big deal whether investments have NDIC coverage, SEC approval, CBN approval etc, investors should know what they are putting money in and should be responsible for the outcomes of their actions and inactions. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by omotola90(m): 2:08am On Oct 06, 2021 |
OgogoroFreak:might need to go to Google Play to do that.... You are right though.. But you can now deposit any amount into your wallet for investment using your debit card |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by freeman67: 7:39am On Oct 06, 2021 |
omotola90: In his introduction, he stated that almost all your posts are about 'Branch'. Then went ahead to ask if you work with/for them or you are just a passionate investor. Somehow, you evaded that very important question. That to me, signifies that you are marketing either what you do not do not understand or believe in. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by OgogoroFreak(m): 7:46am On Oct 06, 2021 |
omotola90:I only transfer to the wema account. Deposit any amount to your wallet? But the wallet itself can only hold 500k at a time. Are you sure you are using branch? Abi, na small, small money you dey put there? |

How is NDIC ever worth considering for ones investment journey. Those mofos only give out 500k right? Even if you invest 10m, so how is that a metric for considering an investment instrument? 1 Like |

OgogoroFreak:lol...no sir... I dey put heavy there ooo... You can only send a minimum of 100000 thousand naira to any account...and a minimum of 500000 naira only in your wallet..... But since I updated, I can invest any amount at a goal directly from your debit card.... Formally, I send in 100s of thousand... But now, I just do it direct any amount |

Tobex4realTobex234:don't mind those NDIC.. How that is a pre-requisite is still baffling.... They only give out only 500000 naira truely..... But no institution has ever run into liquidity... |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by omotola90(m): 8:35am On Oct 06, 2021 |
freeman67:all my post are not all about branch.... Branch is a well known brand hence no need for any aggressive marketing... That was an assumption he made up there and I know someone somehow will want to counter it.... Any one is free to invest in whatever investment but this thread is to educate or to enlighten us one way or the other... We shouldn't loose hard earned money to any blood sucking investee but with a flexible and good ROI... |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by omotola90(m): 8:46am On Oct 06, 2021 |
emmanuelewumi:Now, there are three major type of financial institutions... They are 1.contractual institutions 2.Depository institutions 3.investment institutions Now, for contractual institutions, we have(insurance companies and pension funds) Depository institutions we have(credit unions, mortgage loan companies, trust companies and our banks) Investment institutions (investment banks, underwriters and brokerage firms) Cbn released a statement of pertaining to illegal trading of stocks on some platforms.... Cbn is a mighty regulatory body as they are into monetary policy of the country, hence making decisions on control(projection of cash flows in a country) ... For you to carry on any investment or anything, there will be a moral check.... You can't go wrong on that in any form.... Referring to the afro man 1 Like 1 Share |

emmanuelewumi: I like the way you stylishly advertise for platforms that you are affiliated with. You most likely get kickbacks from them for the subtle adverts. You do the same for a couple of investment houses that I shall not mention. But you then get offended when someone else advertises. Why? Does this place belong to you alone? Better give yourself sense before strong yamayama fall on your bald head 9 Likes |

Branch is a big fintech with global partnerships and probably A LOT of funding, it technically is not a Nigerian firm. I am aware they have a partnership with Visa (visa card). the Nigerian MD - Dayo Ademola has decent experience in the financial space (worked in Union bank and Efina). She also had an interview with Fisayo Fosudo on youtube (you may care to watch it for a detailed review) for now, the only downside is that they don't have an iOS app (iPhone users cant benefit for now) or allow people register via web. (Target market is probably Android User only) |
