paying 12k to migrate is not the problem, the problem is how do you pay it? Tstv customer service is the most useless I have ever seen, you will call customer care number from their site for days and they wont pick up, the number that someone picks up will tell you its wrong number. The entire management is not ready for business yet. Imagine trying to reach customer service for more than one week without success.

Android 4 to Android 9, you don't want the company to sell their products. The option you have is custom ROM and you hardly get it for android TV.
Why not try getting an android box there are cheaper ones in the market now.

You shouldn't always be quick to remove money from your pocket to buy new gadget till you know you've explored every possible loophole with your device and that there's no way to proverbially "Open it up" to new possibilities first before you buy a new TV or a new box.
