chatinent:Wow! You really weren't able to tell that this was a self-deprecating, humorous post by GeorgeChidi himself? Like it's so obvious he works there and wrote the post himself nau. Now I see people name-calling him based on your post. Funny stuff. What you all have to realise is that this is even what Mr Bah needs right now. People who will discredit and poke holes in his defence, or is he going to give koolaid to the appellate court folks to drink? If his evidence can't stand the scrutiny of non-professionals, is it at the appellate court it'll stand?! At this point, I'm done making any contributions to this topic. Powerhouse5050, all the best of luck in your appeal. May the Good Lord vindicate you, IF you're truly innocent. Praying for you, either way. |

BKsoul:I'm surprised you didn't see the humour in that. That's a self-denigrating but humourous autobiographical blurb written by George Chidi himself. |

Abeg leave that man jare his profile indicates that he has worked for the US government and might still be working for them, do you really expect him to discredit the American criminal justice system? iamL:my advice ... read what was said and understated what wasn’t. Defendant said there was no “in-court identification” by the victim, that should tell you that the victim has identified the perpetrator at the station, and it’s on record. |

TechSpot:They wanted to use that to rope him na but interpol cleared him that he is clean and he has no dirt. When that failed they brought the rape allegation that they didn't even allow the victim to point out her attacker? |

GeorgeChidi:Read the bolded over and over again and listen to how you sound, the American Jury has convicted so many people wrongfully in the past and the case of this man might not be an exception, pls search List of wrongful convictions in the United States in Google and see for yourself. |

mysticwarrior:Sighs. They're both different individuals who understand how the US justice system works. They don't make conclusions based on sentiments. They work based on evidence, and honestly, all evidence points towards the defendant being guilty. I'm sure that 1stgenamerican has no ties with GeorgeChidi as Georges attention to this thread was as a result of David Hundeyi who said he should look into this case. Personally, I'm still searching for light in this case.. like I said before, something isn't adding up.. the story isn't complete |

GeorgeChidi:Oh wow, I can’t believe that one of my favorite journalist of all time is here! Allow me to contain my glee in order to respond. It appears that a fresh pair of eyes was able to see the same things that I did. I’m not sure if you noticed however you and I corrected some of the same misinformation that was provided. For example, he claimed to have spent $150k on his defense however I corrected him because the records show that he used indigent defender services. I also mentioned his motion to suppress DNA evidence (among many other motions) but instead of recognizing that I was privy to the transcript and aware of him running game, he continually insisted that what I was stating was incorrect. I’ve also made it a point through this thread to tell him that his “evidences” pretty much prove nothing since they were things that are easily manipulated or spoofed. And finally, I let it be known that a combination of things led to his conviction therefore challenging each and everything would be extremely time consuming and his chance of success was pretty much that of a snowball in hell. Of course me telling things as they are rather than as people wanted them to be has made me quite the unpopular person in this thread however I told him the truth and consistently asked him to be truthful/stop lying to his Nairaland audience. I must warn you that there are things in the transcript that are extremely unpleasant however I have no doubt that after even an hour or so of examination, you will hold strong to your current opinion. TBH, your time would be better spent assisting elsewhere. HTH Cc GeorgeChidi |

@OP I am disappointed at your demeanor on this thread and on the whole case. I don't know if you are truly guilty or innocent, because from the little I have read, your story does not add up. You sound just too arrogant, especially for a convicted man attempting to prove his innocence. You came here seeking for help and your overbloated ego will drive away those that can help you. You never know whence help will come in your time of despair and desperation. Help usually comes from unexpected quarters. You need to humble yourself. You don't expect everyone to believe you, even Jesus himself could not convince everybody. You need to explain yourself to doubters over and over again in a humble manner until he or she believe there is a slim chance you are innocent. You never know if such doubter would be the one to save you. It's even possible that 1stgenamerican and georgechidi were assigned by someone up the justice ladder to engage you to see if you have a case. Your arrogance would drive away those than can genuinely help. Once again pray everyday for God to give you the humble spirit. I truly hope you get justice. My 2 cents |

Have taken my time to go through the thread since last night and I will make my submissions. Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer neither have I ever practiced law before. 1. Nobody is accusing Mr bah or trying to prove anything against him. In law and I beleive also in the US, a person is presumed innocent until convicted and in this case Mr bah has been convicted. So the jd woman and the journalist aren't trying to prove anything against him I believe. It is Mr. Bah that must prove his innocence in his appeal. 2. In my opinion, the jd woman has really been the most helpful to his case here as believe me if she is asking these questions and punching the holes imagine what the attorneys would do in court. This should help Mr bah know how to strengthen his case and know which of his evidences are weak and how exactly they can be countered in court. 3. Mr. Bah has placed his invoice majorly on 2 pieces of evidence - the 6 mins phone call he had and the dna testimony of his expert and I will tackle them both. Like I said earlier I am not a lawyer, but these could help Mr bah build up his evidences. 4. Mr bah claims he made a 6 mins phone and has asked several times if he can be making a phone call and raping the girl at the same time. Well, here are counter questions: 4a. What was the duration of the assault? Did the assault happen for exactly 6 mins or shorten? Cos if the assault lasted longer eg for at least 30 mins then the 6 mins call becomes baseless. As I can have a phone call for 6 mins and then proceed to do other things. 4b. Was the exact time of the assault recorded. Not an assumed time but the exact time. Why? Because 6 mins is extremely short and it has to be proved that the assault happened at exactly the same time Mr bah made the call and that the assault lasted for 6 mins. So I believe the call is a weak piece of evidence (again I am not a lawyer and Mr bah should seek appropriate legal counsel) 5a. Did they victim identify Mr bah at any time. I believe most parents would ask that their children not testify in an open court cos of the trauma it could cause but that shouldn't stop the victim from talking privately to police I believe. So did the victim positively identify Mr bah at any time during the investigations? If she did not, then his defence should be built around this. 5b. There was reportedly a cctv footage and online media reports say the footage shows Mr. Bah chasing the victim into the Woods. Was this cctv footage shown in court? If so, what was Mr. Bah reason for chasing the victim? If the victim did not positively identify Mr bah as the attacker at any point, then that should be argued in court, could be given as I believe this is negligence on thier part (again Mr bah should consult with an attorney) 5c. According to Mr. bah there exists a second cctv footage that shows a man putting a shorts described to the police during a 911 call. Now this a tricky one? According to Mr bah, this particular footage wasn't shown in court. Mr. Bah have you seen this footage and did you identify the man on shorts? If not, did those who saw the footage identify the man as you? If his face wasn't captured, did they identify any obvious difference in both your appearance? Significant height and weight difference, hair, tattoo or body piercing, skin color etc. If yes, then this should be the center piece of your defence. If you aren't sure, then your attorney should request to study the tape if possible. 6a. Was there any other dna collected at the crime scene? This could prove that there are more than 1 suspect. 6b. Wad the results of dna analysis disputed in court or was it just the method used in getting the results? 6c. Did they dna expert Mr. Bah claims didn't testify conduct a fresh and different test to disprove that which was presented at not. If not, how did he arrive at the analysis? 6d. Was the tests presented in court carried out by just one lab or did multiple labs present they same result. 6e. Did Mr. Bah ask for the dna analysis to be redone at any time during the hearings. If not, is that still possible? 6f. Did the lab or labs that conducted have any history of dna swaps, fraudulent activities or any other incriminating records? |
