I learnt the importance of feedback a long time ago.
When invited for any interview, I always respond.
After any interview, I write the HR person to thank him/her and express my willingness to be a part of their team.
If I am declining an offer, I write to tell them why I am not taking the offer, and that I'll be willing to still be a part of the organization when other opportunities arise.
This is exactly what it should be

My first question is, did you make known to the company initially your desired or minimum expectation of the salary for this role and the value you are going to bring? If so, then it's always better to stick to that except the company highlights salary increments at different stages when you start working. Do what you feel you can to still get the job and always blend your value to the desired need the company wants to fulfil in that role: that's why they will want to pay you because you are fully aware of what their needs. I wish you well

yomcity:

I went there two weeks ago for the position of sugar coating and after the interview process I was asked to resume last week Monday but the salary is #40,000 and I personally turn it down cause cant settle for less.

This week on Monday I was also invited for the post of supply chain manager and immediately I step into the reception the production manager recognized me and asked if i have been here before for an interview and I said yes,she now asked what am here for and I told her for the position of supply chain manager and she was like waow but I felt she Is not happy seeing me again so she left not up to 10 minutes.

Meanwhile I have been given the bio data form to fill and it gives me 60% chances .

After she left that a lady came downstairs saying your name is withheld, and why didn't I accept the offer given to me the last time.

I came for interview and I was like Cant pick such job for a living factory work to be precised and she told I would have called back and told them and they were busy waiting for me to resume cause they called me that why I didn't make it on Monday.

I told her I had an emergency so I was trying to called the number back to explain myself but she didnt pick and I told her how it all went but said since my name is on the system that I can't be allowed to write another test cause the system recognized my name .

Just because I rejected a particular position I felt like telling her trash but I kept my mute for future sake

Please my fellow nairalander how do someone handle such situation I have the plan of meeting the MD or anyone in charge to explain my ordeal to him/her..........

Please what is your take on this??

Need mature and professional advice biko

I don't mean interview venues and places oooo..

I mean good paying Job.

You're welcome sir.
I've had 20 years work experience so I wasn't talking about "venues and places" too.
Gather experiences. Interact with HR personnels. Get to interview people when you hold a management position. Then you'll get to know how feedback can make or mar people's chances.

I come in peace.

As an HR personnel, I understand and believe that;
You don't compelled employer to employ you in whatever ways

Ignore every proposed actions and furge ahead

Note: "What would be will definitely be"

If it's the will of God for you to still work with them nothing can stop it because they may still definitely re contact you

Wishing you all the best bro

YTA.

You should have reached out to them about turning down the offer in writing or via phone.

You're the arrsehoule because you allow them expect you to resume on monday, and allowed them call you for a feedback, which you didnt pick. Then without no integrity, you're explaining you had emergencies. That excuse is flimsy and portrays you as someone who's not ready to work.

This country get as he be. So their computer didn't recognize your name, phone number and email before they resent their invite?
I think it's more personal than professional. the HR is actually trying to get back at you for not honouring their first offer. If you can have access to the MD or someone who can speak to her, perhaps you should give it a shot.

The correct sentence is ''...getting two invitations..'' and not ''...getting two invites...''

The latter is incorrect English. Moderators kindly take note before putting up topics on the front page!

OP, f.. ked up first. You ought to show courtesy by replying that you can't accept the offer.
It's less than your current take home.

What they did is expectant of them.

Not calling back to decline the position was the problem, not you declining it. I feel it is the right thing to give feedbacks both from candidates and HR officers. It is quite unfortunate that you will attend an interview and everything become quiet. No feedback from HR, and see them now, they cannot even take the non feedback from you in good fate.
I tried calling back but there werent picking up but the mistake I did was texting them

I think that was the mistake I made by rejecting the offer politely but I think that shouldn't stop them from interviewing me and confirming my capability for the post.......its weakening and saddening at the same Time......thank you bruv

The woman no like your face there is nothing you can do about it just dust yourself up and move on, better offer ahead.
I don't think its about the issue of likeness but of looking as if am coming to drag the post of managerial seat with her just my opinion though like someone she has interviewed for powder coating now coming back as supply chain manager nope I won't allow that........that is woman for u

someone said something about proper feed back.

Communication is the key bro. Openness and honesty would help too. we both know you has no other engagement the day you ought to have resumed for the sugar coating job.
you just did not like the pay and you should have communicated with them letting them know why you turned down their offer.
perhaps they would even have offered you a higher remuneration.
salaries can be negotiated.
