Okay thank you so much.

Maybe facial expressions would have mattered in the past but not now - COVID. Through out your time inside the Consulate, you are required to put on your face mask. So, no one will be seeing your facial expressions. I think that's a good thing though.

He only time you will have to take down your mask will be when the Consular want to verify it's you on the passport.

How do you know your NOA1 date, is it the notice date or receive date?

Notice date is NOA1 i.e notice of action one.
But i think the priority date is based on your receive date.
Some people get noa1 a month to two after mailing package off but still get approval within the recieve date priority.

To the US embassy in Lagos, and your intent letter has to be an updated one ( the date must be recent).

Have it in mind that you might not be asked for it but it’s good to have it at hand for the interview, just in case.

All the best.
thanks very much

Please this question of when did it get romantic, i don't understand, do they expect it to wait a little time for romance to set in? what if it was a love at first chat, maybe after a day of knowing each other, d lovey dovey thing sets in, when they ask you the question, what do you answer in this scenario?

Hello House, I need to.enquire about this. My fiancee was trying to fill up for affidavit of support and was told she needed her 2017, 2018 & 2019 tax papers ... She was able to contact irs for this and was issued 2018 & 2019 but she said her 2017 they delivered to her was showing 000.00. Can she use 2020 tax to replace 2017 cos she got her 2020 tax paper already and that's what's delaying her fro!m sending down to me. Cos out of 4 weeks to 6weeks stated on NOA 2 Paper that the NVC Letter would arrive next . now my question is is she mailing to me or to NVC??

2018, 2019 and 2020 tax documents ( w2s, returns and transcripts) are perfect, she doesn’t need to mail them to you as that will make her spend extra and also take sometime before you get them, she can easily fill, sign, scan and send them to you via email and you can just print from here, that is acceptable. All the best to you

Good afternoon house,
I recently discovered this thread and it has been really been helpful.
I got an RFE yesterday, and the confusing part is we had sent most of the things they asked us to resend which includes
1) we sent 2 separate signed statements
2) evidence of ongoing communication
3) evidence of subsequent meetings (we initially sent them at least 30 pictures at different times)
4) evidence of engagement ceremony ( we included pictures of the proposal, sent receipts of the engagement ring)
5) evidence of family and friends being aware of the relationship ( we sent pictures that included times where both parents met at a dinner )
I honestly do not know what to do .

The recently added items we were asked to send are
1) evidence of wedding preparations ( which I have no clue how I’m going to go about it , because we haven’t been able to make plans since we do not know how long this whole process with last)
2)evidence of financial support

Please I need help on how to go about this . Thank you

OK, I received the same RFE
I will advised you based on how we responded to USCIS RFE and later got approved.
1. You and your fiancé should write a detailed letter of intent to marry (the letter should contain how met, and also include details about planned wedding)
2. Evidence of wedding preparatio for example my fiance sent me email details of our plan wedding with potential guests, colours for decoration, venue and kind of food we want to serve our guests, etc so we took a screenshot of the email and sent it to them.
3. Evidence of ongoing communication
4. Conresspondance discussing marriage : if you getting married to her then surely you guys must of talk about your wedding during chat, like where you holding the ceremony, honeymoon, infact anything that shows you and ur fiance have discussed the wedding plans, take a screenshot and send it.
Evidence of subsequent visits : my fiance only visited once in our letter of intent we made it clear we planned for a second visit but due to codvid it was no longer possible as there were travel restrictions. If your fiance visited more than once then you should provide more evidence.
5. Evidence of financial support : my fiance sent her recent pay stubs and most recent tax return( someone said evidence of financial support could also be receipt of money transfer but we didn't include such evidence)
6. Tell your family and friends that's if they are aware to write a statement that they're aware of the relationship and your intentions to marry your fiance(attach there ID card, passport)
7. Made it clear in the letter of intent to marry that you don't have any children together in the relationship and if you have discussed about having kids in the future also mention it.

When you sending your RFE file back to uscis make sure to make a content list, arrange the evidence in order as mentioned in the RFE letter. If you don’t have any evidence of what they ask make sure to mention it in the letter of intent to marry e.g subsequent visit and children born to the relationship.

You only have one shot at RFE so gather as much evidence as you can if there's anything that you might help your case don't hesitate to add it. Good luck

Good day , I will say from what I have read so far on visa Journey....You front loaded the USCIS with way too much pictures and there is every possibility that your letters of intent and engagement ceremony pics were not seen....

I have seen this similar thing with other people who feels sending over 30 pictures helps...but it always get to an RFE..

because the person adjudicating over the case may not have the time to go over the 30 pictures.. These people adjudicate thousands of cases daily, so they do not have that time to go over your 30 pictures...or the person who scans the documents into the system when received from you at Texas lockbox facility may not have that time to scan in over 30 pictures ..as lots of cases are sent in per day for themto scan into the system...it's way too much and frustrating to one who has lot of work to do to scan in over 30 pictures ....Think about that too...

Sending 5 to 10 quality pictures showing evidence of what is required can do more than sending 30 pictures of repeating pictures at different locations..it is of little or no importance

They always say Think quality over quantity..

Am not here to criticise you buh we are here to help each other...

Now I would advise you and your fiancee to resend another fresh letter of Intent with the current date on it as the day when you are writing it..

You and your fiancee parents or family members should write a letter/affidavit of support that they are aware of your relationship and they are aware that you both intends to get immediately you get to the US
.

Both of them alone are very powerful evidence of intent to marry.

Then you can now add your engagement ceremony pictures too to it..just one or 2 pics max..

Then do a cover page and write all what you are submitting to the uscis ..

Next time , just give this people a quality concise package of what they are asking for ...

I have read of people getting NOA 2 approval after submitting just 3 pictures or so..

I am not saying you should do same....all I am saying is we should not over do things some times..

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.

K-1
Maybe Slightly faster arrival in the US
More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire

CR-1
Maybe Slightly slower arrival in the US

Less expensive than K-1
No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765, I-944) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.

Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
