The loan sharks mumu sha.

You will just dish out money to people you don't know.

You are right. Look at the attached picture below and see how some nairalanders (johnames, MissEfe, starryv) are making living from the loan apps operators

Re: Loan Apps Send ‘Shame’ Messages To Close Contacts Of Loan Defaulters by robosky02(m): 9:04pm On Oct 15, 2021
OK see what people have been saying, read, Lean and use your Head:

1. I swear!!!! I sweard to myself that I will never take loan from any loan apps again.. Now And in the future

2. it isn't but I think bank should be the safest place to collect loan or from families and friends

3. With the exception of carbon, branch, fairmoney and quickcheck, don't pay any other useless loan app
....Branch …Fairmoney …Carbon Okash and Palm credit are licensed….Others no go get shi shi

4. most Nigerians don't like to payback whatever they owe. I saw one criminal complaining to the bank customer service, that he is getting deductions on his account. That they should stop all debits. The lady asked if he had ever taken a loan anywhere, he reluctantly agreed but pleaded for stoppage. Lady asked if he didn't intend on paying them. He was told it can't be stopped until he clears the loan.

5. The average Nigerian can owe for 700 years. You would hear him say, “when him ask me tire, he go leave me. Shey he wan kill me collect him money abi make I kill myself?”

6. Best loan apps

....If you must borrow, take from Palmcredit, fair money, Branch and Carbon. These four apps will never send messages to your contacts if you default. Rather, they will embarrass you with calls every now and then urging you to pay up. They won't involve your contacts.

.....Okash, Branch, Cabon, Alat etc no dey harass the person not to talk of involving the person's contacts.

...agree with you, you don't harass people for them to pay back loans, it doesn't work that way, branch is a good loan app they don't harass me infact am doing business with them aside the loan, am saving on investment plan with them on 20% interest, which Nigerian bank can offer me that none highest Nigerian bank give on interest is 2%

7.
A loan should always be repaid. It allows the lender to pay staff members, as well as give loans to other people. If everyone borrowed with the intention not to repay, the lender's business will go bankrupt.

However, the lenders need to be strictly regulated. These ruffians have not one bit of respect for personal data. Perhaps, they don't understand the ethics that guides personal data.
......There are due processes by flagging all accounts linked to the bvn through CBN.

8
What i'm saying is that his full details (through his BVN) is blacklisted for not paying his debt
If you doubt me, tell him to go to his bank and ask them to check his BVN in blacklist

Kindly advice him to go and pay the loan except he is not interested in building an empire that might involve seeking credit facility later in future.
Those loan sharks do not use the credit bureau that's why they go all out defaming customers, Branch and others that uses the bureau need not shame you, whenever you need a serious facility locally or even a foreign financial house, they will contact the bureau and will know if you are credit worthy.
I recently applied for a loan from a micro finance bank, while still talking to the guy about it, no form filled yet, just chatting, the guy knows just my name and phone number, he mentioned that I took a loan from Branch (about 3yrs ago), I was surprised and I told him yes but I paid already in due time, he said he knows, he was just informing me.
There is also a story here(NL) about a guy that wanted to collect huge facility from a bank, but it was discovered that he owed ₦10k or so to a financial institution, seems he even forgot ever owing such again since there is a change in status, he had to pay the debt to access the facility he is seeking for his business.
@op, NITDA should investigate without having to wait for individual complaint, it can be done under public interest, so they have no excuse except they are getting something from it

10. The worst loan app

.....9cash is the worst of them all. They have been calling and messaging over a month now about one of my former colleague that is owning them. The disturbance was too much, I have to block their line, they still use different line to message me this morning on the same issue. The colleague self, I don't even have his contact again.
I have compiled my petition against 9ja Cash. I have paid. But they either return my dignity or be ready for

....Stay away from Sokoloan, Kash Kash, Lcredit, and one other loan app( I can't recall the name now) if you have dignity to protect.

....SokoLoan and it's affiliates particularly, they have made this a habit to defame people even if it's just a day of default and this is terrible.

11.
Honestly, those lenders need to be regulated.
They are too illiterate to be entrusted with data.

Nothing should justify data breach or defamation of character.

You can't blame the Loan Sharks

Because Nigerians see credit facilities as Miracle Money or Sara money.

Instead of making small payments in a timely manner. Somebody owing SOKOLOAN N100,00p will still be eating Indomie Super Pack with 4 boiled eggs, like a food monster.

Infact the Loan sharks should use Geo-location tools to locate debtors and use koboko to flog sense into them.

There is nothing like free money!

Story!

You always assume a lot things in this country, why do you think people pay back the loans?

This over assumption and taking things for granted is the reason many Nigerians do yahoo with a handset and later put their personal sim inside same handset to make calls, then remove it thinking they are smart.

Have you ever heard about Financial forensic body? If you have any issue of fraud on your bank account, consult them.

Am just wondering how NIRSAL will get their borrowers to pay back, when their staffs have been conniving with their cronies to, apply for their facility only to return 70-80% of it to them (the enablers) in the name of it been covid-19 grants

Spoken like a true thief that you are!

Please, it seems you worked for one of these companies. Kindly enlighten us.
A lot of reliable hardworking Nigerians are interested in these fintech companies and their packages. The problem is that they open peoples account to fraud. About 50% of fraud emanated from information requested by these loans tigers. CBN, NITDA and EFCC should do something about these companies.

Nigerians are internet fraud expert . No matter how secured and encrypted the site and the information transmitted on that site, asking for 1. Names 2.BVN number 3. ATM card number and Security 4. ATM card pin 5. Bank 6. Bank account number . Releasing this information through quick loan applications and granting the application permissions to some functionalities on your phone is very risky in Nigeria. It is a great risk.

They should just send those fintech companies especially the chinese shark loans away from Nigeria to stop these uncultured recovery defaming method....Its more harm than any good. You are even a slave to them when you take their loans no matter how good record you have been patronising/helping their business as many now avoid them to make them too much profit/money. One default dey drag u on the ground like a common criminal even involving your whole family

1. Unbelievable high interest rate
2. Just 7days to repay almost half of the money u got like if it's easy why don't they maybe go make double of the money themselves without using baits to help them make money
3. The loan amounts are usually useless like 1500,2000. You have to keep borrowing for a long time before you get something tangible

And many more red flags. I no get time

Did they force the person to take the loan?

Emmm.... What stupid loan company gives a loan without informing the debtors "next of kin" as he/she provided to the loan company.

Then you say you are embarrassing me with calls and txt, you be mumu ni.

That's how one wrote me on WhatsApp all the way from PH about my bros debt from their company and how my bro dropped my number as NOK and the loan due date had expired. I just told her to call me on videocall and I showed her my location.... She screamed jesu, you are not in Nigeria shocked grin grin grin

Exactly! Nothing can justify their behaviour. That's emotional and psychological abuse!

The real fact is that you had no real intention of paying the other half.

The only reason why you rushed to pay the balance is because they shamed you.

I have worked in credit administration in a finance institution before so I have first hand experience of how Nigerian debtor behave
Its so pathetic to think you can just sit from afar and analyze or think for someone you barely know. It only goes to show how dysfunctional and shallow your thinking process can be.
What if i told you i paid back a loan of 50k that same day without the app talking or calling me?. Your way of taught is just pathetic.

If the pressure that comes from the pressure of your bosses and from saving your cheap credit job, must that be a rational to rate most Nigerians? Just say you are under pressure and by the extension, made confused by that pressure. Hence your premature analysis and judgment.
