Because some parents are so carried away with the work of God at the detriment of their home.Its part of the reason I want to be a "stay at home wife" when I get married because I can't afford to fail my children and disorganize my home.I will only work after having all my kids and setting a strong foundation for them.Its a personal decision.

And this is of course still inclusive of the option that "Were the Parents Godly themselves?" In Nigeria and Many countries I have lived in, No they were not!

The parents were just as evil and unGodly as their children.

They ain't Godly parents,...they are Godly parents in the sight of man but not Godly in truth and spirit,cos it is said that train up a child in a way he should go and when he grows,ye won't depart from it...A true Godly parent will raise a Messiah that even Satan will acknowledge..

Poverty greatly affects the acts of Godliness. Imagine telling a hungry person not to steal. If they have no food at some point they will find a way to get it no matter the cost. Despite this, wealth can affect Godliness as well. If a person has too much power and there are no societal restraints, they will treat others poorly. However in the case of wealth, parents along with the social structure surrounding the child, can create a spirit of Godliness. Examples below

Nigeria=Poverty=Bad (UnGodly) Society= UnGodly Children
Norway=Low Poverty=Good (Godly) Society=Godly Children

Nigerians can only be religious but never Godly.

Because most of them....instead of taking time to focus on and train their children properly....they start doing amebo and watchman on other people's children.
You see a case of pastor Mrs gbogbotigbo embarrassing and raising her voice on sister Stella for wearing coloured hair to church,meanwhile her daughter is having abortions for different men here and there.

I wondered the same especially after none of Moses children could take up the mantle of their father.

Only Abraham succeeded with Isaac.
And David was also lucky with Solomon even though he failed with the others. But then again he was suffering the consequences of his fiasco with Bathsheba. Ironically Solomon is the son of Bathsheba.

Even contemporarily most pastors of our churches nowadays raise some of the most wayward children..
Wonder why.

pls define what you mean by godly parents. The truth is that what we see in church as godly parents, is not what the children see at home as godly father or mother. Forget all the pretence in church, it's this children that live with the parents real character almost 24/7. We only see and hear them from the pulpit say, for 3-4 hours a week. That informs our own idea of godly parents. The children knows their parents better that we do

Because they control their children, and even tell them the kind of clothes to wear, the kind of music's to listen to, the kind of friends to keep, dey to not give their children a breathing space to make decisions for themselves, the children are not comfortable with their life been controlled all the time, but because they do not have anything to do they pretend to be comfortable for the main time, so when they finally gain admission into the university there will be no more parents to control them. So at this point they will start doing all the bad things deg have been fantasizing about all this years

You can control animals e.g cow, chickens, dog e.t.c but u can not control humans for long , if u are a parent instead of controlling your children just tell them what is good and bad and let them make their own choice of what to be themselves, moderation is the key, control them 50% of the time and also give them freedom to do what they like 50% of the time cool

I don't think it has anything to do with parenthood or godly parent as you put it. Tbe problem is with the world and this enlightenment mentality. With every generation moral is decreased by a certain factor and we don't see the effects immediately until after 30 to 50 years. Imagine BBNaija 30 years ago, the show would never sell, now imagine what is coming 50 years from now!

It's because it's always been up to the children to choose which path they would take at the end of the day, regardless of the training the training they received.

They cannot be forced just like God didn't force Adam and Eve, but just showed them the right path, and made them know the consequence of not taking it, so it would be up to them to choose it or not.

I disagree with you.
These parents are very rigid. Children are very vulnerable when growing up. Parents need to be their friend but instead, they are quoting the bible and forcing some people's doctrine on their nose. Your kids need you to simply be their parents.
Your positive attitude towards them will draw them to you and you integrate them into Christian lifestyle slowly and surely simply with your examples. A child that his dad is a medical Dr want to be so cos of what he has seen his dad do as a Dr.
Nigerian religious leaders are very patriarchal, very rigid and unapologetically stubborn. They hardly apologise as they feel they are above mistake. Ordinarily, a Nigerian adult don't apologise to his kids. He will become less man or woman. Children are left to make their own choices then. Let's not forget the condemnation and hell fire for any bad thing the child do instead of correcting the child with love.
