Can I remind you that not only politicians are involved in law making.
Is everyone working in the state house politicians?
There are different levels of engagement.
Those who want to be politicians are free.
MrBlock:

Let's stop being unreasonably critical. Clearly, Osibanjo is refering to the youths making change in government affairs like law making and administration of the country.

The youths have an idea of what they want, but it's time to stamp this idea through deciding who wins at the primaries, attaining key political positions at state/federal level, appointing the right Chief Justices, appointing the right security heads, making the right laws that we think is needed to govern this country etc. An extreme example of such laws could be to behead corrupt politicians, amongst other laws.

We can't keep protesting every time. We need to start playing the political game that would finally send these old politicians to oblivion.

Agreed - We are on the same page.

We need more of the right thinking youths at the political parties though. I believe we can show the thugs currently running it how things can better be done especially those of us that have strong private sector experience.

Mr. Vice President, I kinda differ on this; I don’t have to be in politics or become a politician to make change happen.

If the few in politics are morally upright and sensible to ensure a system that is JUST then the vast majority who are technocrats/Bureaucrat/captains of industries/entrepreneurs will be proud to improve the nation by attracting world standard practices in business and otherwise which translates to nation building….

You guys should stop making everything look like it must be one way traffic. We we’re born into this pattern and we have seen and understood that politics or being a politician is now just about 1/4 of what it takes to build a working nation.

You politicians need to find job and stop trying to become professor of politics when all you are is just power drunk collection of people who want to secure an old way thinking it’s the only relevant model.

We shall come to the RESET as a nation someway somehow.

So no sir!, You don't have to be in politics to effect any change!

Dora Akunyili was not a politician when she touched lives!

Maduka, running for Anambra gubernatorial seat was not in politics before he effects changes that brought him to lime light!

Dr. Stella Adadevoh, saved the population of Lagos, from ebola, was she into politics

So what are you saying How can a professor of law just speak anyhow all for the sake of talking then when it comes to real talks, he's mute

If being what you (prof Osibanjo) are today is what being in politics is all about then I dare say politics cages one and makes one senseless!

Osinbajo is right to some extent. Those people you mentioned never governed a state talkless of ruling a country. We are talking about effecting a change in the country not just a section of it.

Look at the case of Abraham Lincoln, the guy was fighting for the right of the American Black population but nobody pay attention to him until he joined politics, and from there he was able to effect the change.

Do you what would have happened to the Israelites in Babylon if Modeccaai and Esther were not part of the governing council.

One need to understand what's happening in the pack before he can effect a change in the pack.

Fashola was a good state governor but became cluless when he is in charge of what is bigger than a state.

Please I have some few questions Honorable speaker Vice President, in a true democratic government can every citizen occupy an electoral post ? Dictionary defines Democracy as “a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representative”.

The key word in a Democratic system is “ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES” not “POLITICS” in other words the citizens has a right to choose by voting who represents them.

The right of voting by eligible citizens is called an “ELECTORAL RIGHTS” not “POLITICS”. Dictionary defines Politics as “ the activities associated with the governance of a country or area, especially the debate between parties having power ‘’.

If Democracy is a government of representatives then every Nigerian citizen can only be associated with governance through their representatives. Hence politics entails governance by people in power, can we all be in power ?

In a true Democratic system the citizens has no choice but to trust in their representatives ( ie Politicians ). Every citizen cannot be a politician it’s impossible but every eligible citizen can exercise their electoral right in choosing their politicians.

The questions I expect honorable Vice VP to ponder are :
1. Have the Nigerian citizens will of choosing who represents us ever reflected in our election results from the founding of this state called Nigeria ?
2. Shouldn’t the sole goal of an elected politician, the will of who they represent and the growth of the the nation ?

The problem has never been the word politics the problem has always and will always be betrayal of the will of the people by elected politicians who are meant to serve them. Secondly electoral fraud ( ie circumventing the will of the masses in elections through rigging ) the second is more grievous and in fact should have the highest penalty in our criminal system because robbing the masses off their will to choose is the worst crime to humanity.

Truth Never Dies.

Prof. Osinbajo is very right. What else should he say?

You can make little changes with Civil actions but to make massive transformation is through politics.

If ENDSARS youths can come together to get involved in the selections and voting process of the country, they can directly achieve the change they want.

You can make many changes if you're in any profession or have been training on a skill or 2

Martin Luther King Jr isn't a politician after all, but he predicted US future and make a big change.

Carl max isn't a politician, but he affected & changed his world through his piece of writing

Chimamanda ngozi adiche isn't a politician, but changed many people's life through her writings and inspiring words.

I can go on and on

We didn't just discover that 'things has falling apart' in Nigeria, it was when this incapacitated & unskilled govt came in, we knew we've voted the wrong sets of individuals to govern us.

When a so called pastor, forms no.2 as part of the governing bodies in a nation & yet, we can't see any positive change, economically, spiritually, academically, financially, etc
Then we know that the 'beautiful one' is yet to come

Osinbajo is wasting his time advising youth on what they have been doing "Touts in politics" All of you that are insulting him should calm down his advise is not for you but useful youths . Who has more reasionable vision for the country not those who has nothing to offer than : Insult,Hatred, violence, unrest ,Terrorist ,sentimental politics and who their productive lives start and end on media Insult and Ranting . They all failed to realised that the failed society's build up is the product of bad leaders they are enjoying.

You don’t have to be a politician to effect change , this guys know the right thing to do but are just daring the youths to have a taste of corruption. It’s shows that no matter the mounting pressure, protests etc those you voted in to rule will never succumb to our demands. That’s his message to the youths. Get your PVC and vote wisely

Bros leave that one! the youth waiting to get into position are all corrupt and will not make any difference rather than follow the status quo ( Embezzle! Embezzle!! Embezzle!!!) Nigerians are 98% corrupt! That is the plain truth many of us don't want to talk about in public. quote author=dboY1123 post=106921979]Osinbajo is fully aware that the corruption level of this country is very high, therefore if there could be any changes, the youths need to get involved in the public offices to get ride of the greedy, and wicked public officers currently holding the position..

Nigeria must have a President.. so, to vote in people of our choice, the person must join a political group and declare interest in ruling for Presidency.

Just sitting and shouting we don't want a particular Person is not enough..

Let's get involved
Must the youths join a political group and then declare interest in ruling for presidency before they can vote in people of their choice??

you only need money when you're contesting for elected office.

Being active in party politics, getting political appointments and the likes doesn't involve money.
