Must the youths join a political group and then declare interest in ruling for presidency before they can vote in people of their choice??
See the nonsense you're typing here.

The submission was made on the popular opinion of youths that the current politicians are not worthy of our votes.

you only need money when you're contesting for elected office.

Being active in party politics, getting political appointments and the likes doesn't involve money.
Getting political appointments doesn't involve money? Really?

When ordinary police posting requires you to have millions for bribe.

Dr. Stella Adadevoh, saved the population of Lagos, from ebola, was she into politics

So what are you saying How can a professor of law just speak anyhow all for the sake of talking then when it comes to real talks, he's mute

If being what you (prof Osibanjo) are today is what being in politics is all about then I dare say politics cages one and makes one senseless!

The solution is true federalism. Restructure back to the regions. Into six Geoeconomic zones where every zone will grow at their own pace, while the centre is still rotational leadership but a weak centre.

Otherwise, nothing can halt the institutionalized over dependence on oil proceeds, the inequitable distribution of wealth, endemic corruption, religious and ethnic biases and suspicions, terrorism, rising insecurity that currently ravages the country.

Do you see any zone willing to back down for the other in their agitations?

The best is if we can't go our separate ways, then the country should be restructured along Geoeconomic lines now or be sorry.

Yes getting political appointment doesn't involve money. Don't confuse influence with money.

Those police who brine their posting do so because they want to be posted to a place where there is money. So remember not all police bribe to get posted to juicy places. Beside, don't compare police posting to party politics.

What's the first step towards achieving true federalism
Is the action not going to be championed by some leaders true constitutional reforms

We cannot achieve anything without proper legislative process....and it's those that have the belive of that ideology that will implement it.

Hence, we are back to the first conversation of getting involved in politics and identifying those that can bring these reforms and put them into power

Even Osibanjo's name will soon be forgotten as soon as he leaves the seat because there's nothing extraordinary about him! That's a fact!

I still maintain that you don't have to be a politician to effect a positive change!

There is a difference between making an impact and directly making a change in people's lives.

In politics, you have the power and resources to affect lives in a wide perspective.

So if you think protesting can help reform police, imagine being a president and acting directly on it.

You are listing a few names but if you look at the number of people power and resources in politics, you understand the Profs point.

Getting the right people in power to effect massive change on a wide scale. Not impact of a selected few.

Which good leader have we actually elected? Power hasn't changed anyone they've been corrupt but we voted them in anyway look at Obasanjo we saw him as a military general in the 70s yet we let him get power again and Buhari who destroyed the economy and began the Japa phenomenon in Nigeria back in the 80s yet we thought it was a good idea to vote him in again

Prof. Osinbajo is very right. What else should he say?

You can make little changes with Civil actions but to make massive transformation is through politics.

If ENDSARS youths can come together to get involved in the selections and voting process of the country, they can directly achieve the change they want.

That is the point the Vice President is saying. Let those passionate to turn Nigeria around develop interest in Politics. They will make more impact on a larger scale.

The reason why politicians are not making impact is because most in the corridors of power are those who are not passionate about improving the country.

That is one person. The Vice President is talking about mass participation of the youths who have ideas and passion to turn this country around.

He is talking about these youths occupying offices from the LGAs to the Federal level.

Fighting for political seats will do more than fighting through civil actions. That is a fast way for the youths to get the change they desperately seek.

Focus on dislodging corrupt officials by campaigning and voting in credible youths to change the system.

Let me tell you something, not all Nigerians want true federalism. And those people are in the majority in this democratic experience.

The voice of the few who want true federalism is drowned by this majority.

Whatever is put to vote that's not in their overwhelming interest, they will shout it down.

This reality of disadvantage is the reason why some people think a revolution is the answer. Some want outright secession. While others want the status quo to remain.

The only reason why we are discussing about VAT in the courts now is because, the state saw a lacuna they could explore and some of them hurriedly got it passed into law. They were able to achieve this so quickly because, all parties had a common interest.

Don't drift away from your earlier stand. Well if you are in active politics to make a change to benefit a wider group of people, you will need a pedestal. A political office. And an exalted one at that.

My point is, our politics is very monetized. A viable youth with something to offer may not have the financial muscle to compete.

Why do you think women are still not in politics as is desired?

After spending so much to get elected, he only want to recoup his investment.

What I think led osubande to make this statement is because he is wary of the so called youth ranting on social media about the old brigade. So he was simply saying, don't just stand there and talk, get involved and see how sweet/bitter it gets on this side.

We all can't be in active politics. Let those to whom it's given govern well.

Who's drifting from which stand. It's you who refuse to understand what I'm saying.

Never underestimate the influence of party politics. You think people who hold elected offices make decision at the whim of their thoughts and don't consider the advise of their political party?

If one is involve in party politics, one becomes known there, one can give advice or even be nominated for political appointment and the likes. Or you think people who get appointed into political offices or those who get nominated to head federal government parastatals buy interest forms?

For one to make a change, one doesn't neccesary need an elected office. Making a change doesn't have to be in a big way. Atleast Dora Akunyuli who headed NAFDAC back made made changes, a whole lot and she didn't buy any interest form. So did Attahiru Jega. That's what I'm saying.
