Title - Content Writer

Employment Type- Full-time

Salary range- #50,000 - #60,000 

Location- Okota, Lagos


We are currently seeking a Content Writer who will work with our team to promote the companies products and services by developing high-quality copy for websites, social media, marketing materials, newsletters, and other platforms.


Key Responsibilities & Duties


- Research marketing-related topics (combining online sources, interviews, customer reviews, and studies) using  SEO guidelines.

- Write clear marketing copy to promote company products/services.

- Ensure all-around consistency with agreed style, fonts, images, and tone.

- Review, proofread and edit every marketing copy of company products/services

-  Communicate and cooperate with the writing and design team, including content manager, editors, webmasters, and publishers.

-  Submit work to editors for input and approval before publication.

-  Regularly update content on company websites, marketing materials, and similar platforms as needed.

-  Develop and send out newsletter campaigns for company product/services

-  Proactively, follow up with marketing and promotional deadlines.

-  Collaborate with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.

-  Promote and monitor marketing content on social media as well as the company website.

-  Follow an editorial calendar, collaborate with other members of the content production team to ensure timely delivery of materials.

-  Prepare, report and identify customers’ needs and gaps with campaign metrics.

-  Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest new strategies that will increase brand results and visibility online.

 
-  Use emails, social media to engage customers, respond to questions or complaints, and promote company initiatives



Requirements:


-  OND, HND, B.Sc/BA, MSc, etc in Marketing, Public Relations English, or related field.

-  2+ years of professional and proven writing experience, especially with writing FEATURES, COPY, or CONTENTS on newspapers/digital platforms.

-  Fast learner with excellent researching, proofreading, and editing skills.

-  Ability to construct a clear sentence that obeys grammar rules, ensuring good reading transition, and flow.

-  Possess Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

-  Proficient in data collection, compilation, analysis, and interpretation.

-  In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Google Mail, Excel, Office Outlook among others.

-  Familiarity with search engines and web publications.

-  Ability to work well and meet deadlines with little or no supervision.

-  Solid interpersonal communication, social and accomodating skills

Now tell me, how does someone grow in a career under these conditions?

Salary of 50k that can't even cater for proper feeding in this economy.
A full time job that takes more than it gives.

I doubt if you can find someone that matches all these criteria and will accept that salary. Its exploitation and you know that.

Let's say the candidates get the max pay which is #60,000 as stated on the vacancy post plus other benefits that I think the company may offer why won't the person grow?
