Islamic Cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi on Sunday warned that declaring bandits as terrorists will mark the end of Nigeria as a sovereign and united entity. Mr Gumi, a retired army military officer and mufti, admitted that the devastation inflicted by rampaging bandits in Nigeria’s northwest amounts to terrorism, but President Muhammadu Buhari’s labelling them as such will invite additional consequences that will consume the entire country. “The acts the bandits are committing now in NW have gradually over time become tantamount to terrorism because wherever innocent people are fatal victims it’s pure terrorism,” Mr Gumi said in a Facebook post on Sunday night. The cleric warned that the moment bandits are designated as terrorists, “Islamic for that matter, the direct foreign Jihadist movements will set in in force.” https://gazettengr.com/nigeria-will-end-if-buhari-declares-bandits-as-terrorists-sheikh-gumi |

The military are really trying. Offensive have not started but alot of success have being recorded. Iswap have release a memo asking all there foot solider to move toward border community to avert air strike and foot attack. From troop. Within three month over 25 high ranking commander of iswap are dead. Unconfirmed report has it that iswap new commander may have died from yesterday attack from DSOF. 3 three iswap field commander killed. Right now an operation is going on. Some island are make for clearance and strike operation. All thank to CDS for joint operation between the military.. but the military should strike iswap base in Niger republic 50-100km it is housing major equipment and foot solider . It is there training ground. It is believe that some international country are supplying equipment and money to that base which then move to their operational base in Nigeria. A well airstrike is recommended 18 Likes 1 Share |

Whyem15: Sorry for replying late. The Lake Chad is a large river with so many islands spread across. Baga area covered by Military is just 20% of the Lake Chad Basin. Most of these locals live in IDP camps controlled under military, Government and INGOs. Let me be frank with you all its not sustainable staying in camps with barely three square meal. The Government cannot feed its people and solely depends on NGOs to feed them. But how many people can NGOs feed? In my area of responsibility we have of 70,000 individuals in IDP Camp. Its definitely not easy feeding 70,000 everyday. we aint even talking of clothing and other stuffs. Now ISWAP comes to you that you can come fishing in their territory and just pay tax. while the Government and Military keeps you in Camp waiting on crumbs. An average fisherman in Lake Chad can make not less than 400k in fish sales now. Lets assume from the 400k ypu are taxed 100k monthly by ISWAP and you have 300k For your needs. If you are from the Bunduma clan and you are given option to stay in a camp waiting for crumbs or make 300k which option will you go for? . I was tempted to get into that business. You buy fish at very cheap rate from coded fishermen and give to drivers who use illegal routes at midnights to Maiduguri. However, those illegal routes they must still pay checkpoint fees to ISWAP. From the cash outlay i did. with an investment of one million naira in it. I should coast home with 6Million as profit before month end. Fear no gree me take the risk shaaaaa 18 Likes |

AMIR of ISWAP don turn death sentence, i like the tempo, in as much as we can maintain this, definitely we have put fear in their minds. once your enemy are afraid, you are an inch ahead of them. Besides, when no one can assume the mantle of leadership (AMIR) that means they have been polarised and big vacuum set in. we should take full advantage of that. 7 Likes |

Eighteen persons were allegedly killed in the early hours of Monday by armed gunmen at Maza-Kuka in Mashegu local government council of Niger State. The armed men in the early hours of Monday, it was gathered invaded the village in large numbers and attacked the villagers, who were performing their early morning prayers. DAILY POST learnt that the gunmen who came on motorcycles went straight into the Mosque and shot sporadically resulting in the death of residents. An eyewitness account said the community was taken unawares by the bandits who left many dead and many others injured Speaking on the attack, the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane said sixteen persons were killed in the mosque while another person was attacked at Kaboji village by the armed bandits. Ahmed Ibrahim Matane explained that Niger State Government had already dispatched a team of military personnel to the area to trail the bandits who fled to the forest. Also Confirming the incident, the former member Niger State House of Assembly, representing Mashegu constituency, Abdulkarim Maza_Kuka decried the attack and called for concerted efforts by all in defeating banditry and other criminalities in the state. Chairman Mashegu council, Alhassan Isa Maza-Kuka described the attack as devastating, while revealing that one of the injured persons in critical condition has been referred to Minna, General Hospital for medical treatment. However, efforts to get the reaction of the State Police failed at the time of filing this report as the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun could not be reached. Findings revealed that Maza_Kuka and Kulhu villages in Mashegu LG of the state are bordering Kianji lake forest, where it is believed the bandits are camped and are taking advantage of the porous nature of the forest to strike at will. https://dailypost.ng/2021/10/25/eighteen-persons-killed-in-niger-community-by-gunmen/ |
