Seriously ? If the army use these barbaric and useless methods, you will not end with insurrections even in 50 years

Acts like that is a display of unprofessionalism.

But it has nothing to do whether the war will end or not cos that terrorists would still end up dead anyway.

Probably carried out by an overzealous soldier. This barbaric handling of corpse does not represent the Nigerian Army.

The most important thing to win a war in a region is to succeed in gaining the support of the local populations , and to dissociated them from the insurgents. even the mighty US army did not succeed on this point in iraq and afghanistan and ended up withdrawing without having succeeded in its objective.

this kind of barbaric crime shared in photos on the internet, will only give negative points to the Nigerian army, humanitarian associations will quickly cry out for war crimes, Westerners will rely on this kind of photo when they want to freeze arms contracts and aid for nigeria. and even the local population of the north will have an image of a barbaric army, which is not better than the terrorists , terrorists will use this kind of barbarity to encourage more locals to join them and transform from bad terrorists to good insurgents fighting against a babaric army . And thats why insurgency will not end soon if this methods are used

NAF AIRCRAFT SUSTAIN OPERATIONS AROUND THE LAKE CHAD

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft under Operation Hadin Kai have continued their onslaught on terrorist and insurgent targets on islands and localities around the Lake Chad. On receiving credible Intelligence on 20 October 2021 that about 20 boats with suspected Boko Haram /ISWAP terrorists were converging for a meeting on an Island in the Tumbuns on the Lake Chad and at Malam Fatori, 3 NAF aircraft under Operation Hadin Kai were scrambled to carry out strikes on the targets. Reaching overhead the targets, the pilots observed a gathering of about 20 boats consisting of 5-7 suspected terrorists in each boat. Using a mix of bombs and rockets, the 3 aircraft carried out series of strikes and scored devastating hits on the targets leaving some survivors scrambling for their lives.

The operation by the air component of Operation Hadin Kai yet again confirms the high concentration of terrorist and insurgent elements hibernating in the Lake Chad general area. Working alongside the Army and Naval components as well as other security agencies under Operation HADIN KAI, the Air Component will continue to sustain its operation until the area is rid of all terrorists and insurgents.

This the first time in a very long time we are seeing operational photos from NAF's PR machine, it seems like they are proud of this one.

NIGERIAN ARMY IS WIDELY ACCLAIMED AND GLOBALLY RESPECTED: A REJOINDER TO THE WILD CLAIMS BY THE ECONOMIST MAGAZINE REPORT ENTITILED: ‘INSURGENCY, SECCESSIONISM AND BANDITRY THREATEN NIGERIA’

The Nigerian Army has been notified of a recent article published in the online version of the "Economist", a London based magazine, titled “Insurgency, Secessionism and Banditry Threaten Nigeria” which was ostensibly crafted to denigrate, demonize and destabilize the Nigerian Government. The report also contained some unimaginable slurs targeted at the Nigerian military and the Nigerian Army in particular, to which we would like to respond.

Even as the real intention of the otherwise respected Economist magazine in publishing such toxic concoctions weaved up as report on Nigerian Government’s response to the multi-faceted security challenges assailing the country is yet to be unraveled, the source of the article is very clear. It is one of those deliberate falsehood and noxious narratives orchestrated by a network of detractors and coven of dark forces working very hard to adorn the Nigerian Army in an unfitting garb of infamy. The vile report which the Economist chose to offer its platform for publication, spared no effort in trying to vilify and rubbish the image, character and reputational standing of the Nigerian Army, but failed woefully.

As a professional, hard-fighting and globally respected institution that has continued to occupy deserved glorious position in the comity of global defence forces, the Nigerian Army is certainly not what the so-called report by the Economist tried to characterize it. Even more ludicrous was the embellishments of the said report by the notorious unprofessional media outlets that were quick to republish the obvious falsehood.

How is it conceivable that an international magazine worth its name and professional reputation would agree to lend its medium for a hatchet job of an article without as much as committing little effort to finding out the real truth about the Nigerian Army? How is it imaginable that the Nigerian Army that has distinguished itself as a worthy contributor to global peace and security through regional, continental and international peace keeping and peace support operations would be characterized as “Mighty on paper”? How can the Nigerian Army that has restored democracies, brought peace to troubled lands and stabilized the sub-region through the dint of hard work, commitment to duty, discipline and professionalism be so denigrated?

Is it the 'ghost soldiers' of the Nigerian Army that have weathered the storm of terrorism and insurgency of Boko Haram and Islamic State of West African Province Terrorists (ISWAP) in the north eastern part of the country and parts of the Lake Chad region?

In case the Economist magazine and those who fed it all the lies it published do not know, the Nigerian Army working in a joint environment, has been able to stop ISWAP, a very formidable international terrorist organization in its tracks, in spite of all the obstacles, including arm sale blackouts on its way. The Economist and its ilk ought to have known that the Nigerian Army has long distinguished itself as a professional force that does not toy with accountability nor shirk from its statutory responsibility of defending Nigeria from external aggression or internal insurrection.

Is it not curious that an otherwise respected international magazine could so easily be sucked in by the antics of conflict merchants and agents provocateurs who are uncomfortable with the steadfastness, patriotism, unwavering commitment, sacrifice, ruggedness and resoluteness of the Nigerian Army in stamping out terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes assailing the country and the West African sub-region? How the Economist magazine failed to do simple due diligence on the said fabricated report is worth interrogating by those who are interested in distinguishing between rogue journalism and professional one.

Let it be known to the Economist magazine and those who concocted the lies they published that the gallant officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army are undeterred, undistracted and totally unfazed by the harebrained assertions contained in that silly report.

Just when the Nigerian military is recording strings of successes, we see this nonsense on a British paper. Coincidence?

Soldiers of the Nigerian Army are presently raiding Oyo town in Oyo State in a mass arrest of youths and residents in the aftermath of the attack on the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Abolongo, SaharaReporters has learnt.

Some residents on Saturday stated that the military personnel were harassing innocent residents when the Fulani terrorists who carried out the attacks had fled the town.

“Now the Nigerian soldiers are in Oyo town are patrolling and arresting young boys at random and taking them away. This is very unsettling to the Oyo natives,” a source said.

“If these random arrests continue, the Oyo natives will start to prepare how they will defend themselves through diabolical means from the armed government personnel,” another resident stated.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that top prison officials said that the gunmen who carried out the attack did so to free the detained notorious Fulani warlord, Iskilu Wakili and other criminal Fulani herdsmen in the facility.

Sources had told SaharaReporters that the gunmen three days before the Friday invasion struck in Ogbomoso, a neighbouring town to Oyo, and the security operatives were also fully aware of their presence in the area.

“The attack in Oyo last night from the Ogbomosho axis was a well-coordinated Fulani attack aimed at securing the release of Wakili, the terrorist whom (Sunday Adeyemo) Igboho drove away from Ibarapa. I am informed by my staff and very reliable people that he was the object of that attack last night at about 10pm,” one of the top sources had said.

“The rest was just drama. My security staff told me the gunmen struck three days ago on the Oyo-Ogbomosho Road and around that time, their strange faces were also seen around an area the boys described to me. This was a well-coordinated attack with the objective to free Wakili and other Fulani inmates,” he added.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the entrance to the prison was blown with an explosive device while security officials at the prison fled for their safety.

Speaking with SaharaReporters on phone, the spokesman of the NCS, Olanrewaju Anjorin, had said; “Yes. It has been confirmed that the attack actually happened. And right now, the Comptroller of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) and other top officers are assessing the situation. But I can confirm to you that the incident actually happened."

On March 7, a joint team of Ibarapa security operatives, including the Oodua Peoples Congress, Vigilante, and other groups had arrested the notorious Fulani warlord terrorising Oyo communities, Wakili.

Wakili had been arrested after several attempts resulting in a gun battle.

There had been reports that Wakili and his gang were involved in the killings and kidnapping of several people in Ibarapa, Oke Ogun, Oyo State.

Wakili was nabbed barely seven days after his second-in-command, Isiaka Muhammadu, was arrested alongside four others.

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, had confirmed Wakili’s arrest in a statement.

Meanwhile, on June 7, no fewer than 17 persons were reportedly shot dead by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen at Igangan, in the Ibarapa North LGA.

Residents had said the hoodlums invaded the town on motorcycles around 11pm in an attack which continued until around 3am on Sunday.

They had fingered Wakili’s men on a revenge mission to be behind the attack.

Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has condemned the attack on the Oyo town correctional facility, saying the invasion was a national embarrassment.

Suspected bandits Friday night reportedly attacked the Abolongo Correctional Centre in Oyo town, freeing an unspecified number of inmates at the facility.

Nigerian Air Force to buy 24 planes signs contract of first 12 x M-346 FA for Air Fighter-Surface Attack jet variant of Aermacchi new further development of the already advanced M-346FT LIFT acquired by Israeli Air Force. Egypt too buying Master.

The FA with combined AJT + FA version beats its alternative twin Yak-130 with FA extra capabilities added on by Leonardo
____________________________________________

NAF chosen FA variant is an extremely effective multirole variant with combined dozen capabilities of -

Air to air guided missile combat WVR
Tanker air refuelled deep surface strike
3 tonne payload ground attack
Close air support for ground troops with stand-off range PGM
Maritime sea strike
Homeland security & air policing
Deliberate slow pace for loiter time CT-COIN ops
Urban surgical strikes
Support missions for complex personnel recovery of shot down pilots and combat search & rescue operations
Tactical reconnaissance
Electronic warfare jamming missions
Aggressor & companion trainer
Highly advanced jet trainer AJT-LIFT

So with all the above done by this one aircraft, it makes FA variant of Master too good for NAF to ignore.

_____________________________________________________________

NAF will likely take delivery of some Masters this year 2021 from contract signed for 12 now with open order next 12 later, as MoD & NAF-HQ says these 24 x M-346FA was chosen to replace exactly the 24 Alpha Jets fleet now depleted.

I haven't.
But if geography and poor planning is why this can't be implemented, then that's on the government and the planners.

Any country deploying troops to secure 200km of rail tracks is already a failed state. Toss it in the bin.

An alternative is to create a Nigerian Transport Police or similar.
